Chapter 2: Peace
"....ke up.....ake up... WAKE UP!!" you jolt awake and look around for someone but no one's there... Hm, that's strange maybe it was a dream, you think as you shrug it off. "Well im awake now I might as well get up" you get out of your bed and start to head out to the kitchen to fetch something to eat .
"Good morning Anny!" your mom says smiling at you "don't you look worse for wear".
"Mom! I told you not to call me that!" you complain
"I know, I know dear, I'm just teasing you" she says jokingly as she fixes some food for you.
"Oh yeah, did you yell for me a second ago?" you ask
"yell for you? No of course not, I never wake you up for at least another half hour, why?" she says.
"Oh its nothing must be my imagination" you say. It seemed to vivid to be a dream.... your thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a horse walking outside. "Is Isaac back mom!?" you question excitedly
"He might be, he's due home anytime now, I know you admire him but try not to tackle him this time" she says with a grin
You stop eating and immediately run out the door to greet your brother. You see him riding into the village on his horse, as he climbs off you run into his arms "Isaac!!" you yell as you hug him
"Ow ow ow ow! careful" he yells, after that you realize his arms are covered in bandages. "What happened!?"
"Lets head home, then ill tell you and mom."
"Alright..." you say begrudgingly. Once you arrive home your brother tells you about what happened apparently a large group of monsters attacked him.
"The monsters have become more active lately it's starting to worry me but I guess im lucky I got off with only this" he exclaimed
"That is a little worrisome, you need to be extra careful from now on ok?" mom says.
"Alright mom, but somebody's gotta go out there and make sure that they don't attack the village. What are you so angry about pip squeak?".
"Starting today I want you to train me to be an adventurer, then I can go with you on your excursions and we'll protect each other so things like this don't happen again"
"It might be a good idea but I don't know if you'll be able to keep up" he teases.
"Hey give me a little credit I am your brother after all"
"Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt, it wont be anything fancy, but at least you'll be able to defend yourself"
"Yes! I'll grab my sword and head to the training area" in reality your "sword" was a stick you sharpened on both sides and the tip with an indent to grab onto.
"I'll meet you there" you run out the door
