Chapter 206: Where predator becomes prey
Euryale watched the two as they spoke and she couldn't help but smile. They were both rather adorable, and she had to admit that even the leech was growing on her. All of the bloodsuckers she had met were conniving backstabbers that shared the same abilities, lacked individuality, and hid their intense emotions behind a veneer of pretentious nobility. As it turned out, Valentina was a complete inverse of her expectations.

This chapter was intended to show some of the fun combos Dahlia is capable of doing, while also trying to highlight both her casting's trickery as well as show how her fear effects can affect the battle. Her more basic nature casting might be pretty straight forward, but most of her abilities are actually very mind-gamey. The combined effects of both fear and confusion especcialy are something that can take a toll on someone and, even if they can resist the worst of the effects, it can still lead to a bad mental and impulsive and misguided decision making. Well, at least that's what I tried to convey in this chapter, but please let me know what you thought!
On a different note, for me it's been snowing and our snow is a wet and very slippery variety, so it's a little sketchy to drive in. It just makes me want to wish you all a safe winter and I hope the weather treats you well and you're able to find ways to stay comfortable and warm.
