Chapter 5: Chapter Four....Portal Realm

They stood in front of what looked like a cave entrance. They could feel magic radiating off the entrance doors. It had Hieroglyphs etched into the rock framing the entrance. The horses were side stepping and unsettled, regardless of the soothe they gave them. Telsa pulled a torch out of her bag and lit it. Gale nodded and we enter the cave. Stepping through the entrance Aria felt a film trying to cling to her skin as she passed the hieroglyph entrance. Her hair stood up and goose bumps rose on her skin. A chill rain down her spine.

"You sure this is such a good idea to get to the ?" She asked.

"Aye, the only way. Beest on thy guardeth." The torch left dancing shadows on the wall as they continued further. Rats skittered across the floor, chattering and hissing. We reached a split in the tunnel and paused. Gale placed his hand up and cocked his head to the side.

Distant Screams could be heard. It was hard to place which direction they were coming from. Aria peered around Gale seeing if it was in front of them.

"Something is not right h're." he whispered. Aria moved up beside him and looked at him. His eyes were white instead of his usual green eyes. Aria looked at Telsa, "Is he in a trance again?" "It would seem so." She replied. A loud scream sounded like it came from the left tunnel.

"Apace!" Gale ushered them towards the left tunnel. The girls quickly followed almost running into Gale as he stopped. He placed a hand to his mouth and the torch went out.

"Shhh, eft yourself f'r battle." He pulled his staff out. Aria only saw a glimpse of it before drawing her own sword from her back. She felt uneased to what was about to happen.

She saw Telsa's sword tip in the corner of her eye. She cocked her head to the side, are those screams coming from a distance, she thought.

Gale and Telsa kept moving forward watching the tunnel ahead of them as they all heard the screams come closer. Aria felt something tug within her chest with the sound nearing, she stood still allowing her eyes to examine the tunnel. Something is off she thought, but what exactly is it? Her eye caught movement above Gale and Telsa's head. They widen as she saw a dark purple oval open up. She raised her hand and was about to call a warning to them but two bodies dropped from the gap in the ceiling and crashed into Gale and Telsa. The portal closed up and disappeared. Aria quickly put her sword away and drew a dagger out as she ran the group. Gale and Telsa groaned as the bodies on top of them tried to pull themselves away. Aria grabbed the nearest body, not realizing it was a woman till she had her by the hair and the woman gasped. Aria quickly glanced over the woman. She was quickly taken aback by the woman's appearance. Their hair color was the same, silver with purple ends, but hers was done in a foreign design of braids and curls. Where as Aria had hers done in a ringlet of braids. Her outfit was foreign and made with soft leather. She had no weapons on her besides a bow and quiver. Aria tried not to scoff at the woman's appearance. She disregarded her and tossed her away from herself. She then grabbed, what looked to be a man, off Gale and Telsa and tossed him beside the woman. Keeping her eye on the two she helped her friends stand up. They dusted themselves as the two strangers stood up.

"Don't move." Aria pointed her dagger towards them. Something just did not feel right as she looked at the two.

"Gale? Telsa? Is that really you guys?" Graver took a step forward.

"I said not to move!" Aria threw a dagger in between Gravers feet as a warning.

"I do not miss. That is a warning." She said. An arm went in front of her, "Enow Aria." Gale said.

"T hast been too longeth mine own lief cousin. If 't be true t truly is thee what is the code 'mongst us." Gale asked Graver.

"Make no mistake I will defend the weak. I will defend our way of life. I will defend the royal family. I will bring the fight to your home to keep you out of ours. I will pursue relentlessly all who threaten our people. I will sacrifice so that others may live. I take it upon myself to protect, teach, and follow the royal family. I will nurture those under my command. I will keep the history alive. I am their subject, I am a Gwarcheidiol, I am a soldier, I am a shifter. If you strike me or the royal family and those like us, you will lay upon the dirt, until you are swallowed by it." Graver recited the Kings code. Gale laughed and embraced Graver. "T is valorous to seeth thee mine own cousin. T hast been many of years. This wilt beest Rhosyn."

"Rhosyn let me introduce you to Gale. He was one of your instructors when you lived at the castle in Lotharis." Graver brought Rhosyn forward. He was a bit nervous about this meeting.

"What do you mean by instructors and a castle in Lotharis?" Rhosyn looked at Gale and Graver questioningly. She felt so confused. Who were these people?

"Grav'r has't thee not hath kept rhosyn up to speedeth?" Gale was wary.

"It is a long story my old friend. I have much to explain to Rhosyn." Graver felt guilty. He slipped on his duty to Rhosyn. He was to train her and prepare her to meet her family. He had failed her.

"Graver! It has been so long since we last saw each other!" Telsa came up and embraced him quickly.

"Telsa! Good lord you have grown!" Graver gave her the once over. "You have not aged a day! How is that possible for a human like yourself?"

"I bonded with Aria when we were escaping the castle." Telsa shyly said. She still did not know how to feel about the bond for Aria never used it unless forced. Graver looked over Telsa's shoulder to see Aria standing there, watching them carefully. Graver approached her and held his hand out.

"You must be Aria. I am Graver. I am Rhosyn's Gwarcheidiol. I had to take your sister in a different direction then where Gale took you."

Aria slowly shook his hand, "Pleasure to meet you." She looked over his mop of brown hair and bright green eyes, with a sharp face. He wore black soft leather and kept a dagger at his waist. He was built with muscles that showed through his leather. However, she could not help but feel a draw towards Rhosyn. Like there was a string pulling her towards her.

"Come." Graver pulled her towards Rhosyn.

"Rhosyn I know I have not explained your history to you, and I apologize for failing you. This is Aria, your twin sister. Aria this is Rhosyn, your twin sister." Gale, Telsa and Graver watched as the two girls measured each other up. Rhosyn was the first to move. She quickly embraced Aria.

"It is a pleasure to meet you Aria. I miss having a sister around." Rhosyn whispered to Aria as she embraced Rhosyn back. Once Aria embraced her the girls gasped as they felt something snap in their mind and body. They could feel a soft presence in the back of their mind. A sound of a rift opening behind them made them break apart and look behind them. Aria's hand went to her dagger. She felt a shiver run down her spine. A man walked out of the portal in armor.

"Zerith!" Rhosyn sounded surprised and started to go towards him but Graver held her back. Why was he here Graver thought.
