Chapter 2: INVESTIGATION

Zalina looked at the orphanage in front of her. The house is quite well maintained, Rudi and Marisa have given Zalina a power of attorney and complete documents for kid adoption. And, this morning the beautiful slender girl with sharp eyes stepped confidently. Her arrival was greeted by a middle-aged woman who was about 55 years old.

"Mrs. Ajeng?" asked Zalina kindly. The woman nodded, Zalina smiled and held out her hand. "I am Zalina Maharani, a lawyer."

Mrs. Ajeng's face looked panicked when she heard the word 'lawyer'. However, Zalina quickly smiled sweetly.

"I just need your help for the case I'm currently working on. May I come in?" she asked. Mrs. Ajeng immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

"I think the court will evict us all."

"Destroy...?"

"Ah, sorry Ms. Zalina. Come on, let's just talk inside," said Mrs. Ajeng in a friendly manner.

Zalina nodded and followed Mrs. Ajeng's steps. They sat on the sofa, which according to Zalina was quite old. However, the room looked neat and clean. Complete with photos that adorn the walls.

"Sorry, You said earlier. Will this orphanage be evicted?" asked Zalina. Mrs. Ajeng nodded wearily. "This orphanage was founded by my husband 30 years ago, Ms. Zalina. 5 years ago, my husband died of colon cancer. To pay for the treatment, I was forced to owe money to moneylenders and the remaining debt amounted to 76 million rupiah. I can't afford it. Actually, if I pay it in installments, maybe I can. However, the moneylender asked me to pay the money at once. He will take legal action. While I myself am blind to the law.

Zalina smiled sweetly, ah I finally got more than what I expected, Zalina thought by coincidence.

"You don't have to worry, I came here with nothing to do with debt. But, if you want to give me the information I need, I will help you with your debt problem, how about it?" offered Zalina. Ajeng looked at Zalina a little doubtfully. She seemed to think for a moment, then nodded. Zalina's sharp eyes also seemed to sparkle cheerfully.

Ajeng took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

"So, what can I help you with, Ms. Zalina?" she asked.

"23 years ago, there were twins who were entrusted here. And, one of the babies was adopted by the couple Mr. and Mrs. Rudi Haryono. Can I find out who the husband and wife are, adopted their twins and who is the biological mother of both? the twins?" Zalina asked while handing Rudi the documents.

Ajeng opened the document, then she stepped up and opened the file.

"23 years ago, not as advanced as now, Ms. Zalina. So, I still store this file manually. However, the data from 30 years ago is still stored safely in this cupboard."

Ajeng carefully opened the file. And, she also showed her notes to Zalina.

"The grandfather of the twins was named Raden Harya Wadana. His daughter Gayatri was pregnant out of wedlock. Her boyfriend was named Trisnadi, not from the rich family, so Raden Harya was against their relationship. had an illicit relationship. And, in the end Gayatri became pregnant. Instead of giving her blessing, Raden Harya separated them and Gayatri finally gave birth to the twins without Trisnadi being accompanied. When the twins were born, Raden Harya immediately brought them here. Raden Harya was a close friend of the deceased husband.

"So, it's a heavy day for us to accept the twins in this orphanage. Just a week ago, the Aminoto family came to adopt one because they couldn't have children. Perhaps, in the business field, Aminoto Buana's name is quite famous. 2 days later, Mr. Rudi adopted the twin brothers because it was reported that his wife was depressed because their first son had died. If I may ask, what case is Mr. Rudi currently facing?"

"Ardy Cresna, Mr. Rudi's son is a suspect in a case of harassment against a girl. According to the victim's confession, when the abuse occurred the victim was a little drunk so it is not clear who had stained her. However, when she realized it was Ardy who was in the room. Ardy already denied, but the post-mortem results and the fluid left behind matched Ardy's DNA. That's what made me think that Ardy is not Mr. Rudi's biological son. Or, Mr. Rudi has another child that might be given to someone else. Because, the DNA is the same and only will be owned by people who are related by blood, right?" explained Zalina.

Ajeng nodded. "Ah, that's the case. Will I need to testify in court later? But if so I can't Mention who the biological parents of the twins are. Because, apart from what I already promised. Gayatri too right now would definitely not remember her two sons. Because, after giving birth Gayatri suffered from severe depression until finally she had to be treated by a psychiatrist. And finally undergo treatment by means of hypnotherapy. Now, Gayatri already has a happy life of her own. and no one dared to disturb her past."

"We don't need to say who the twins' biological parents are. You can say that the twins were just left at the door of the orphanage. I don't think it will break your promise to Raden Harya. How about that?"

Mrs. Ajeng smiled. "Okay, I am ready."

"Now, can I request a copy of the adoption documents from the Aminoto family?" asked Zalina. Mrs. Ajeng nodded her head.

"Of course, Ms. Zalina."

"And I'm asking for your debt agreement. I'll sort it all out."

Ajeng's face became more and more radiant. She immediately provided the letters that Zalina asked for and immediately handed it to the beautiful girl.

"Oh yeah, what about Gayatri's ex-girlfriend? Doesn't he know about his both sons? Did he look for them?" Zalina asked curiously. Ajeng shook her head.

"Trisnadi had an accident when Gayatri was 7 months pregnant. That is also one of the reasons why Gayatri became depressed for a long time. I personally sometimes don't understand why there are still people who judge everything by wealth and thrones. In fact, in God's eyes we are all the same. ."

Zalina nodded, "That's right, ma'am. My mother always says what you say. Anyway, how many children are there in this orphanage, ma'am? I saw how quiet it was earlier?"

"They go to school, of course, Ms. I live here with 30 children. Some of them are still in elementary school and the oldest is in high school in grade 2. We have permanent donors for the continuity of this orphanage. And, if earlier Ms. Zalina passed a small restaurant down the road, it belongs to this orphanage. The restaurant profits every day for the children's life. They also get a scholarship from their school, so that helps us quite a bit."
