Chapter 67: Jeju Island~1!
"So, how are they?" Late in the evening, a vocal call was being transmitted between two nations belonging to the same continent. One of them was talking from Japan and the other from the Korean land.
"Except for Cha Hae-in and the chairman Go Gun-Hee, no one seems to be much of an interesting. Sure, they are powerful however only two of our 'S' could wipe the Korean hunters, without breaking much sweat. " Goto declared without hesitation as he concluded this result since the time, the spar between the two teams happened.
"So there isn't a notable issue, right? Chairman isn't going to participate for sure and if that Cha In or whatever interferes then..."
"I will take care of her don't worry". Some more official talk between them went on before another concerning matter was brought up by the national hunter.
" What about 'him'? " There wasn't a doubt about whom this pronoun was directed to. After a momentary pause, Shigeo began to talk.
"Nothing. No reports. We tried to contact him but were futile. He is out of coverage. We didnt spot him in the city at all, nor any public places. Even after that ambush on the school, he is awfully silent". Sweat could be seen dripping down Shigeo's forehead as he spoke.
" Hmm. It sure seems quite fishy. Try to contact him somehow, I will be picking phone before tomorrow 6 in the morning. Until then".

Due to the previous frustration, Subaru ended up dungeon hunting. He wanted to increase his shadow army, so naturally, dungeons became his fun park. He chose random dungeons across the country before they could be noticed by authorities, and started clearing them.
First, he cleaned up all the dungeons by himself but later, he used his shadows so they could grow too.

A sky-breaking thunder befell on a group of chimera-like monsters, making them extinct in a single shot.
Subaru was astonished to see Jimmy's potential and thought how much prosper he could if he didnt has ended up dying so early.
Subaru only bothered with the dungeon bosses. Even his shadow could take the boss too, he doesn't want to fully rely on his soldiers. Along with spells he also used his martial arts and weaponry to challenge the monsters.
His previous half a thousand troop army was now tripled in numbers. Ranging from D rank to A-rank, he had tons of soldiers packed in his shadow. However, apart from Jimmy and the Wyvern, he didnt has a single 'S' rank with him.
"These dungeons are too low class. How can I find high-rank gates?...." While thinking his hand approached his phone. Walking out of the dungeon, he dialed a certain number.
"Hello." A child-like voice replied from the other side in just one ring however it wasn't the voice that Subaru was expecting.
"Rinka? Where is Theo?" Subaru asked while frowning.
"He is spent right now. Is it something urgent?". Subaru's brows raised in surprise.
" Ah no let it be." Ending the call, he started scouting dungeons on his own. Little by little, he was able to differentiate between gates but he never found any gate surpassing A rank. Naturally, the boss of these A ranks was higher in comparison to the other mobs, but comparing them to his strongest soldier, those bosses become fodder as well.

"Hmm? This mana fluctuation". Arriving at an orphan gate in the dense forest of a barren island, Subaru found the mana rippling quite strangely. It was somewhat familiar to the one he raided with Fubuki, back in Japan.
A smile formed on his face as the expectation of finding a high-rank gate elevated quite a lot. He didnt ponder for much longer, before stepping inside.
The scene which came in view made Subaru even more glad that he checked this island out.
What was inside the gate was, a living hell.
A burning castle towering over 300 meters, stood in the middle of an inhabitant land. There were thousands of mana presence on the land which were quite heavier than his soldiers. The castle was guarded by humanoid cave men-type guards with a size identical to nagas. However, it won't be exaggerating to say, that one alone guard was exerting that much mana, which could crush the whole bunch of nagas in an instant.
Another noticeable thing was that the boss was inside the castle. Generally, a dungeon boss lives separately from their troops but it seemed that these monster had their own mind and sanity.
Subaru was sure that even Jimmy had to struggle quite a bit against a mere guard but despite getting flustered he was smiling devilishly.
Reason?
" Now I can finally let loose".

"Is the chairman has gone senile, to the point he is sending a civilian with us on that hellish island". A man with a sturdy build and face which could depict a true beast spoke in a low tone, however, everyone inside the carrier heard his voice.
"A true hunter is someone who protects the people in need however, I will advice you to watch your back yourselves Mr. Cameraman." Another man with black hair said in a cheerful tone. Looking at his humongous build, there was no doubt about his role in the raid.
"This is not my first time going on a raid to direct its coverage. I have also filmed a couple of dungeon breaks before. However, I look I'm still an A rank you know." The man wearing a military uniform said before his demeanor changed slightly.
"Well what I am gonna face today, is still way out of the things I have seen until now". His hands were shaking as he spoke. There wasn't a debate to call the upcoming raid walking a double-edged sword, no way to run and no way to stop as well.
" Don't worry, we will be there with you". Another man wearing a green robe said with a calm expression.
Even the man reassured the only A rank present inside the carrier, stress was inevitably visible on everyone's face as they knew that what they would be facing, was no mere a normal dungeon break, but a swarm of living death.
"You don't look so good, Hunter Cha. Anything you are troubled with?" A red head man asked while adjusting his glasses to the only female present hunter with them.
The latter one wasn't looking at him, but constantly starting outside, toward the partially visible island.
"I don't know but something feels out of place. I just hope it doesn't like how I am thinking it is."

At the same time, almost half of the world was constantly gawking at their tv screen, with news channels flashing the current heated issue, Jeju Island.
[As you can see the military force of Korea has been stationed at the harbor of the mainland. All the hunters are guarding the country if any unforeseeable incident happens. According to the reports a total of 7 hundred and thirteen hunters ranging from every rank, are standing on guard with the chief of the surveillance department of the Korean Association, Woo Jin-Chul, at the front lines. Not only them but the Chinese marines along with their seven-star hunter, Liu Zhigang, are barricading their motherland. Every other neighboring country has also set their hunters and firepower at their coast, so not even a single flaw could be left alone. It is highly expected that the volant monsters residing on Jeju-do, could flee away during the raid, so the countermeasures are already been taken care of.]
(A/N: There are some countries like Japan that have long lost their military and are fully dependent on hunters for protection. However, there are those too who engage their battalions along with heavy military firepower against the dungeon breaks)
Same as the carrier in which Korean hunters were flying toward Jeju Island, another aircraft was also flying just some distance behind it. This carrier was carrying Japan's best hunters alongside the raid leader Goto Ryuji. Unlike the Koreans, these hunters didnt have an ounce of fear on their faces but utter boredom.
*BOOM* A blasting sound came from outside as some of the Japanese hunters peeked outside and saw fire enveloping a foreign entity.
"Seems like it already started". A man wearing a weird oxygen mask said as the mage of the Korean team fired his spell toward the giant ant flying at the same level as their aircraft.
Despite the spell containing exceptional destructiveness, the monster got out unscathed.
" Should we also move out Goto san?" Another hunter with fiery orange hair asked the senior-most hunter in a heavy tone.
"Yes, we should. Remember, not to get absorbed in the fight and neglect our true mission for which we came here. Whatever, you do, just ensure the security of that egg or the consequences won't be good for any of you. " A nod traveled among every 13 hunters in a fret. They have long made a mental note to never anger the person in command ever in their life. So they always took his words as absolute command.
"Okay then, let's roll out".

1. Keep in mind that this is an AU so there will be massive changes in the main plot.
2. I will keep the pace so the build-up could become somewhat interesting.
3. Yes, the Japanese Association again will be shown as the bad guys. So sorry about that.
