Chapter 52: Scandalous Affair.

"We're trusting you Lucas." Amelia sternly tells him.

"Have faith in me ladies." He reassures us and whispers. "Mission Caroline Ferrigan is on."

The food soon arrives and we share it amongst the group. It felt really nice to be a part of this, life suddenly seemed so simple and sweet. It has always been moments like this that I've wished for. There is no real problem that's weighing you down or no one who is trying to backstab you, you know. This felt so real, so raw and at the same time so pleasing. 

"Hayley, say ahh." Lucas brings a piece of naan bread close to my mouth, not giving me enough time to react. 

"Um...I can eat it myself." I refuse him with my flushed face. "Just put it down."

"Common just one bi…"

Ting! His phone screen lights up with a text notification. 

"Must Leave Now!" flashes on his screen.
