Chapter 1: Meeting the team
I start running through the woods, not sure of where to go, I've been on my own ever since I had to mercy my family after they turned. I've never really been the same after that. I stick to myself and my trusty katana.
I see some trucks and some people sitting near one of the black trucks, I'm crouching down near one of the white vans. They don't see me yet, I can see that there fighting off a bunch of the Z's. I take note, it looks like the sniper is pretty cute.
"Oh crap" I mutter as I see a Z go behind him. I take my sniper off my back and aim it at the Z, I line it up, then shoot it taking down the Z quietly. The kid looked behind him, staring at the Z, then looked around trying to see who shot it. After that, they had killed the remainder of the Z's.
I could tell the kid went to the older black woman and say he thought it was suspicious that a Z dropped dead behind him without anyone near him shooting it. The woman started to look around.
"Is anyone there?" She asked as she raised her gun. "Come or we will start shooting."
"Oh shit" I muttered, "I can't be caught now, I don't even know these people" I slowly raised myself from behind the van. "Hello?" I questioned.
She raised her gun at me, "what are you doing here?"
"Just looking for some supplies, I don't want any trouble" I raised my hands up to show her I meant no harm. "Please, I don't want to hurt you" I saw the cute sniper guy stare at me, I blushed a little.
"Warren" he mentioned "she did save me from the Z, why don't you put your gun down, it doesn't seem like she'll hurt anyone, if she wanted to kill us, I think she already would've shot us. Let's give her a chance"
"Okay fine" she lowered her gun. "I'm Warren, this is Addy, Doc, 10k and Mack, oh and that one is Murphy" she mentioned all their names.
"Hi, I'm Sadie" I looked all of them up and down.
"Would you like to join our group" Warren asked.
I thought about it for a couple minutes, remembering what happened to my parents and how I had to give them mercy, what happens if they die? I'll of grown close to them, only to have it taken away from me. But also with a group like this comes protection and I'm pretty sure we could all use this.
"Sure" I smiled at them "thank you."
Warren smiled back and 10k was grinning. "Nice to have you to the group" he told me.
"Pretty sure we can't use this dump of a truck anymore since it broke down" Addy mentioned.
"Shit" Murphy whined, why must this happen to the savior of the world, "I deserve better treatment."
I started at him in disbelief, shocked.
10k walked up to me "he got bit by multiple zombies and lived to tell the tale" he explained.
"Holy shit" I muttered staring at 10k in disbelief.
"I know I can't believe it either, except he's such a jack ass half the time."
"Hey I can still here you!" She shouted.
"Relax Murphy" Warren warned him.
We started walking to find another means of transportation, it's been about an hour when we heard Murphy start to wine. "Why must this always happen, I don't deserve to walk this far, someone should carry me" he wailed.
"What the hell got into him" I muttered to 10k.
"I can hear you!" Murphy glared at the girl, he got up and went to attack her, when 10k stood in front of me. "Back off Murphy" he warned him.
"Or else what, kid?"
"I'm warning you, you may be the savior, but if you hurt her, I won't hesitate to beat the shit out of you" he glared at Murphy.
I started blushing because of the way he was defending me. I can't believe he's standing up for me like that even though he only met me a little while ago.
Surprisingly Murphy stood down to him, after a few seconds, I looked over to 10k, "thank you for standing up for me" I blushed.
He looked back at me, "no problem Sadie" he smiled lightly, "oh and Sadie?" He whispered. "Yeah?" "You're cute when you blush" he finished off.
I looked away, blushing like crazy. He thinks I'm cute? We continued to walk for awhile after that, occasionally killing some more Z's. It started getting dark out.
"Hopefully we find some shelter soon. It's starting to get dark" Warren looked up to the sky.
We wondered on for about an hour after that, then we found a house. "Look" Warren said quietly. "We're gonna go in groups, 10k and Sadie you go upstairs to make sure it's clean. Addy and Mack, you guys check the kitchen and living room. Doc, you stay with Murphy. I'll check the basement. Go!" She finished.
10k grabbed my hand and we went upstairs, there were four bedrooms. Three of them had no zombies in them. They went into the final room I was in front of 10k, I went to the bed right next to the closet when a Z, grabbed me and pinned me onto the bed, I was fighting off the zombie which had a tight hold on my stomach which was hurting me, when I heard a shot fire and the zombie just fell on top of me completely lifeless now. I turned to 10k "thank you" I whispered. He nodded back at me.
