Chapter 80: Melancholy Asada Shinichi

  Shinichi is immature.

He had a clear understanding of the fact that he was only a 17 year old boy.

No matter how many books he read, things like experience couldn't be gained without time polishing. As long as he had not entered society and gotten his first paycheck through his own hands, he would never have thought that he was more mature than others.

He is like Uesugi Fuutarou and Yuiga Nariyuki. Like all of his peers, he is immature, prone to emotional ups and downs, and yearns for perfection in limited cognition.

However, Shinichi doesn't want others to think that he is a childish high school student.

He had extremely high shame, self-esteem, self-confidence and inferiority, and he never wanted to let others look down on his with pitying looks.

This would make him feel even more that he was just trash that had no use except for his love of studying.

...Yes, like the person in the memory.

So he cheered Furuhashi on, he studied with Ogata, he fought with Mafuyu, he kept Miku a secret and taught her to read, he taught Itsuki a lesson indirectly.

Shinichi made himself seem more mature and useful. Even though he occasionally made childish remarks, he actually didn't regret it.

For necessary reasons. Shinichi will try his best to finish whatever he finds a reason to do.

But just now, just because of a moment of excitement, he expressed his heart in front of Mafuyu, and even put on a very weak look.

Not only did it disappoint Furuhashi and Ogata's trust, but it also affected his image in Mafuyu's heart.

  Maybe Mafuyu was sighing there:

『Asada-san is just a child after all, this mature look is really cute. 』Then covered the corner of her mouth with and looked at him with sneering looking eyes.

Thinking of this, Shinichi walked away from the guidance room even faster.

  "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!"

After walking for a long time, Shinichi breathed heavily, and sat down on a random roadside bench.

The embarrassment and turmoil in his body that seemed like it could ignite blood was gradually eased by the wind, but the depression in his heart was not reduced by half.

"What's this? Parents type pre-examination syndrome? The book doesn't say how to be normal while falling into hypocrisy…"

Masses of melancholy surged, and turmoil of emotions filled his mind. Shinichi scratched his hair impatiently, leaned back, slumped on the bench, and stared at the red and yellow light of the sky in the distance.

Clenching his fist weakly, he said softly into the swaying red clouds.

"I'm not a weak person…I have to cheer up quickly."

No one wants to see such a lackluster self.

So, Shinichi closed his eyes and began to sort out the messy emotions in his heart.

After sorting out his mood, Shinichi slowly opened his eyes, and his helpless and tired gaze happened to meet another curious gaze.

  "Wow!"

  "Wow!"

  Screams sounded back and forth.

Wait, this scene is very familiar.

Shinichi glared at the girl in front of him who was so frightened that she took a step back.

"Yotsuba? Why are you peeking at me again?"

"I'm not peeking! That Asada-san is too focused to sleep!" Yotsuba replied with a flushed face, but seeing her in a tracksuit with sweat on her forehead, she seemed to be running, face red from exercise or embarrassment.

"Yotsuba, why did you stop?" There was a distant scream, and Yotsuba quickly turned her head and waved her hand at her.

"I'll follow after a while, everyone don't worry about me, please run first~"

After she finished speaking, she looked around guiltily, put one hand beside her mouth, and said to Shinichi in a soft voice.

"I'll be lazy, Asada-san, don't tell everyone in the athletics club..."

As if thinking it was fun to do, Yotsuba giggled, and the green ribbon on her head twitched happily.

Shinichi turned his head to the side, even though Yotsuba had a very bright smile, but at this time he had not recovered from his slump.

"You can be lazy as long as you want. If anyone at the track club has any objections, let me know. As a reward for what happened last time, I will have the Student Council's accountant strictly review their budget. That's all, I'll go first."

Shinichi didn't know where he was going, but there was no one near him. He heard that it would be happier if people screamed when depressed. He decided to find a place where no one was.

Yotsuba saw the embarrassment and Shinichi couldn't help but feel even worse.

Yotsuba saw his figure ready to leave, and said in a moderate voice.

"Asada-san, are you going to run away again?"

This sudden question, without any malice, made the atmosphere slowly tense up.

Shinichi kept walking forward without looking back.

He didn't respond, and Yotsuba's words came from behind him again.

"It's the same as last time~ You're obviously too weak, but you have to pretend to be strong, but you still do things like run away. An idiot like me can see it at a glance, but Asada-san isn't actually strong at all!"

Shinichi finally stopped and turned to face Yotsuba.

"Nakano Yotsuba, what are you talking about all of a sudden? Did I offend you-"

Before Shinichi could finish speaking, he saw Yotsuba showing a big smile.

  "Asada-san, finally look at me!"

  "😐"

  (Tsk, I was conned!)

  Shinichi turned and ran decisively.

Then he was overtaken in a few steps.

"Ehhhhhhhh? Why did Asada-san run away? I smile innocently!"

"I just wanted to ask why you're chasing me..." Shinichi, whose shirt corner was pulled and knew that Yotsuba could still pull up his pants even if he took off his shirt.

"Why? Let me stay even though you say bad things about me, do you want to take me home again? I'm not sick today."

"No, I think Asada-san is sick." Yotsuba answered in a very serious, though casual manner.

She pointed to his her chest, and glared at Shinichi.

  "Obviously your heart hurts."
