Alexander looked at Evelyn as his eyes softened.

Evelyn's words had stuck to him. 

'Can I rectify my mistakes?'

'Can I take back the hate I gave Rose?'

'Can I show my sister the love which she had always expected from me?'

Alexander did not know the answers to the question. He looked at Rosalind who was sleeping peacefully on Selena. Alexander was deep in thoughts. 

'Was I always mistaken?'

'Was the competition always only in my mind?'

The sparkle in Alexander's eyes dimmed. What should he say? What should he tell himself to make him feel better?

If the situation had taken place before then Alexander would have denied it. He must not be wrong right? But now some things have changed. Alexander was not confident in his past opinions.

"Alex?" Evelyn looked straight at Alexander. She could see all the different emotions playing in Alexander's eyes.
