Chapter 80: 1999 (part 2)

Walking back and forth in the hospital hallway, Julian's bloody hands were placed at the back of his head.

Olivia has been inside the operating room for nearly an hour now and Julian was growing more anxious every minute that passed.

"Julian!" Javier called out to him. He rushed to where Julian was and tapped his shoulder, "How is she?" he asked.

"I don't know," Julian anxiously answered, "She's been inside for an hour now," he said. He sat down on one of the chairs that was in the hallway and buried his face on his hands.

Javier sat beside him and patted him at the back, "She'll be fine, Olivia is a strong woman," he comforted Julian.

After some time of silence between the two of them, Javier decided to talk.

"Hey," he started, "I know this isn't the time to ask this, but I need to know. What happened back at home? How did Olivia end up like this?" Javier asked.

"It was your Mom," Julian answered.

Javier already expected this answer, but he still silently wished that he wasn't right.

"What did my Mom do this time?" he asked.

Julian suddenly started sobbing, "I just entered the dining room because Olivia looked really tired from doing house chores. She's pregnant and too much work will be bad for the baby, but Ma'am Ysabel was so angry," he said, "I know that my mom did her wrong, but I did not choose to be born out of our dad's mistake. Olivia's life shouldn't be the payment," he cried.

Javier enveloped his younger brother in a tight hug, "You are a part of the family okay? You are my brother, keep that in mind," he said, "Don't worry, we will hold my mom accountable for this," Javier assured him with a gentle tap on his back.

After a very long wait, a doctor finally came out of the Operating room. He removed his face mask and walked towards Julian and Javier.

The two stood up immediately upon seeing the doctor.

"How is she Doc?" Julian asked.

"I'm sorry to say, but she's gone," the doctor answered, "She suffered from severe traumatic brain injury and she also damaged her spine from her fall. We did everything we could to save her but her body couldn't take it anymore. I'm really sorry," he said.

"No…" Julian collapsed on the floor, "No..." tears started to flow down from his eyes.

Javier assisted Julian immediately. He held Julian in his arms and hugged him, "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," his voice suddenly cracked as he couldn't stop himself from crying.

It was too heart-breaking.

"Our baby, Olivia," Julian spoke weakly. Staring blankly at the door of the operating room, he looked completely lost.

"I'm so sorry Julian," Javier apologized, "I should've been there," he said.

Minutes passed but Julian didn't stop crying and Javier stayed with him. Sitting on the floor, Javier continued to hug his little brother to give him comfort, even just a little bit.

"It's all her fault," Julian suddenly said, "She did this to Olivia."

Julian's hands suddenly balled into fists and his gaze darkened. He pulled away from Javier and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Javier asked worriedly.

"I'm going to get justice for Olivia," Julian answered. He turned around and started to walk but Javier grabbed him by the wrist.

"Please don't try to stop me brother," Julian said, "Because I won't."

Javier shook his head, "I won't stop you, call me whenever you need help and I'll be right there," he said. He let go of Julian's hand and tapped him on the shoulder, "Take care," he said.

Julian just nodded. He left the hospital immediately using Javier's car and went straight to the police station.

"Good day Sir, how may I help you?" asked one police officer.

"I'm here to report something," Julian said. His hands were trembling as he spoke to the officer, "I want to report Ysabel Walker for attempted murder," he said.

"What happened next?" Alexander asked curiously as he listened to Julian's story.

"Of course, they didn't believe me," Julian answered, "Who would believe nobody like me?" he mocked himself.

Returning to the police station, the officer who was Julian was talking to, suddenly burst out laughing, "I'm sorry Sir, but you do know we're talking about Madam Ysabel Walker here right?" the officer reminded him.

"I am well aware officer and I'm reporting her for murder," Julian spoke seriously. He was not in the mood to joke around.

"I'm sorry Sir, but I think you should just leave," the officer said. He went back to what he was doing and ignored Julian's presence.

"But I'm reporting a case here!" Julian shouted but the officer did not mind him. Due to anger, Julian suddenly leaned forward and grabbed the officer's collar, "Are you listening?! I'm reporting a murder case! Someone died and you're ignoring me!" he spoke angrily.

The other officers inside the station instantly stood between Julian and the other officer. They grabbed Julian.

"Let go of me!" Julian shouted at them.

"It's best you should leave Sir, don't cause any more trouble or else we will be forced to lock you up," an officer said.

"But I'm here to report something! Ysabel Walker killed my fiancé!" Julian told them, but they continued to drag him out of the police station.

The officers threw Julian out of the station and left immediately.

"Ysabel Walker killed my baby and fiancé!" Julian continued to shout but nobody listened to him.

Why was everyone turning a blind eye on him?

He was reporting something important but nobody paid attention to him!

Was life not important?

Someone died!

Was no one going to care?

Julian stood up from the ground and boarded the car immediately. Maybe other officers would listen to him.

He started the engine and started to drive away from the station.

He can never let Ysabel get away from what she did.

Julian tolerated being mistreated by her for a very long time, but today was different.

She already killed someone.

It is unforgivable.
