Chapter 175: Get out of my house!

Mia's hand remained pressed against her burning cheek, shocked and motionless as she couldn't believe Owen had dared to raise his hand to her. Tears pricked her eyes, but she refused to shed any for someone like Owen. A week ago, she had considered meeting Neil a misfortune, but now she saw it as an awakening. Through Neil, she had remembered her former self from five years ago and had also come to realize Owen's true nature as a psychopath.

Wiping away the blood trickling down the side of her mouth, she glared up at him with a newfound anger she never knew she had. She noticed a flicker of remorse in his eyes as he saw her bleeding lip, but she paid it no mind; he had crossed a line by striking her.

"Oh Lord, I didn't mean to hit..." he began, reaching out towards her face, but she swiftly stepped back, creating a permanent rift between them.
