The journey they took had to go down the seas. Their goal was to reach the last sea or the 7th sea which is now the crappiest sea in all time. It took them years to go to their destination. The first 3 seas they went down were the easiest it took them only months because they were the rulers known for what they are, thus getting the service they need until they had escaped.
The Mountain Sea or the second sea was the first sea where they figured what names they should have thus had the Nen. Nen of the 5th Sea. They were known to be the next target to pursue, and the four knew they won't make it in time so, therefore, creating the opportunity to have their cover-up name to survive in the 5th to 7th Sea. Alibaba Nen, Ethan Nen, Atlita Nen. They took the Identities of the family members that were included in the ambush. Because of that, the siblings had their identity covered up. Although they needed another name because they knew if they don't then problems would start to get in their hands. Ethaniel of The Trash Sea, Lita of the Trash Sea, and Jacob of the Trash Sea.
