Chapter 46: Knox Official and House of Virtue

I told Emily, who was near the window, to keep an eye out for Susan since she was not home. That way, we would know if she came back.

I took out a phone and a package full of SIM cards, swiftly switching the SIM card. Tapping a phone number, I put the phone to my ear. After a few beeps, I heard a voice on the other end.

"Yes?" came the response.

"It's Agent Six," I said.

"I thought you'd never contact me," came the surprised reply.

"There were a few things I needed to take care of first," I explained cautiously. "Before I could reach out safely."

"I don't know if I should trust you, Six," the voice responded skeptically. "I think there's been a bit of a misunderstanding."

"Are you referring to the fact that I didn't contact you when you were on Maxwell Territory?"

"No. I'm concerned about the pact. Why did the Black Cross members stop my caravan on the way to Chicago?"
