Casey Neumann might be a good poker game master – though he couldn't spot that Keira was counting cards – and a decent presidential candidate. Again, she wasn't sure about that part, but he was a well-mannered gentleman.

But currently, he was nothing more than an old man who smiled awkwardly at the direct, sharp stare of one Rick Leinster.

"Do you think I need your help?" Rick had asked him that.

Neumann fumbled with his words, starting to get nervous.

For a man who asked to be introduced to Nate's father, he was extremely timid in front of the man. Such a waste. Even so, she wouldn't fault him, as it might be a normal reaction if faced with the most influential, wealthy person in the entire state.

"Ah, that's not what I meant, Mr. Leinster. Perhaps I could use a better word."

Rick didn't respond right away. He scrutinized the wanna-be president with keen eyes. "Why don't you take a seat?"
