Chapter 8: Childish Behavior
This man now stands in front of Luna, as he stares straight into her eyes with a very serious look.
Luna stares straight back into this man's eyes, as she looks just as serious back at him.
This man doesn't look like he's going to attack or anything. If anything, this man looks like he's just assessing Luna.
Suddenly in Max mind, he starts to hear a voice asking if he can follow them both. The voice seems to echo through the sky, and sounds very calm.
Max nod back at the man, and started walking up the road. He starts to walk behind Luna, but he continues to stay silent.
He makes no sounds, but at the same time does not make a hostile move around Max or Luna.
Max starts to feel curious about the scars on the man's face, but are too timid to ask what happened to him.
The man seems to be very powerful, with a very intimidating presence.
"Hey Luna... can you ask the man what happened to his burn scar?" Max whispers to Luna.
Luna seems a little bit nervous about doing this, as she is starting to get quite a strong sense about this man's magical power.
However, she decides to ask the man this question, as she wants to get to know more about him.
Luna turns back towards the man, as she asks him, "What happened to your burn scar. It looks like it's deep."
The man points to his sword then points to his scar. Luna thinks this is an interesting reply, as the man is implying that a powerful sword somehow give him a burn scar.
As Max looks at the sword, he notices that it's still radiating with a red aura.
This man doesn't seem like he likes to talk too much, as he simply stares straight back at Luna after his previous reply.
It takes hours to get there, but Max, Luna and the man tailing behind them finally reach the village.
Max sees that the village is now quite big and can be called a town. Max see a lot of people milling about doing their daily business.
Max can see that the village is well developed and seems to be quite wealthy. There is a massive town center in the heart of the village, as he can see that there are multiple stores and homes in this area.
He can see that the village streets are also very well maintained and clean.
The man is still with them, as he continues to follow behind Luna. He seems to be keeping a decent distance from Max and Luna.
The man seems to be quite reserved, as he barely makes any noise and doesn't speak to them both. He looks like he's just observing everything that's happening around him for now.
"Follow me... this is where my home is." Max tell this to Luna, who understands this and starts to walk to the left.
The man does the same and follows behind them both. He seems to be interested in whatever happens at the village. Max doesn't know for certain what the man's motive is, he can only guess. Max notices that the man is still being reserved and is not talking much at all.
Max and Luna finally make it to Max's home, as they find that it is a pretty small home. It has enough space for 5 people, there is only one room, as well as a kitchen and some living space with a table.
This is pretty standard for a peasant-class home, as this home can clearly not afford to build a second story.
They see that the house is pretty small, but as they can see it should be enough for it to fit Max, Luna and probably the man for the time being.
Max and Luna walk inside the house, as they enter they can see that the kitchen space is at the back of the house. There's also a table and a few chairs around it.
Luna see that most of the space in this room is designated as living space. She also notices in the corner of the room, there is a very small fireplace.
The man follows them both inside, as Max sees the man is looking around at the small home.
The man's sword seems to be sheathed, which is a sign that he is not expecting any combat to happen.
He removes his black cloak, revealing his upper body.
Max sees that the man's body is a lot more smooth then anyone had seen before, as they notice that most of his body is covered in these spirals.
It seems that these spirals are tattoos, as they can see the color is slightly faded on them as if they have been there for some time.
The man looks very intimidating, but still seems to have a fairly quiet temperament about him.
Luna has been staring at the man a lot, she has been trying to understand where all of the tattoos come from and why the man seems like he carries so much power.
However, in this moment she decides to say something. She seems to be curious about the man's motives, and is trying to piece it together as she says this.
She responds to Max saying, "That man is starting to feel comfortable in your house."
The man continues to take off his cloak, as he lays it down on the living room couch.
Luna turns back towards the man and asks him, "Can you talk?"
Luna notice that the man takes a moment to think, as she expect this is a question that this man rarely gets.
After a few moments, the man slowly nods his head and says, "Yes, I can talk."
The man's voice sounds very calm, and confident.
Luna asks him why he can't talk much, as she is very curious about the man's behavior.
The man takes a moment to think about this, as he knows that this is a very personal question.
After taking some time to think about it, he slowly nods his head. He then replies towards Luna, "I was born not knowing many words."
His voice sounds very calm, but it also has a strong confidence in it.
The man adds, "It's only been two months since I've been born."
Luna can tell that the man is not making up excuses for his behavior.
He is being honest about the events that happened when he was born.
Luna seems to be a bit shocked when she hears about his birth, as she is now very curious about how such a thing could happen.
Luna notice that the man starts to feel the couch, as he starts to press on the cushions with his hands.
He starts to play with the cloth that is covering the couch, as he seems to be very curious about it.
This action seems like a very childish action from the man.
Max hears Luna sigh, as Max can tell that she is now even more confused about why the man is acting so childishly.
Max then hears her say towards him, "He said that he is only two months old..."
Max is slightly shocked when he hears this fact, as he can't tell how such a thing is possible.
