Chapter 2: This God

Syth slowly opened his eyelids. Even though his vision was still blurry, Syth knew he was back in his dorm room. The rotten smell of unwashed socks lingered in the air. Other than a small headache, everything seemed to be normal or so he thought.

<HELLO THERE. ARE YOU OKAY?>

A loud voice seemed to appear out of nowhere, startling Syth. He almost fell off the bed in surprise. But just as he could locate where the noise came, Syth couldn't recognize the eerie pitched voice which could belong to either a boy or a girl.

<STOP LOOKING, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND ME!>

Even though it wasn't as shocking the second time, Syth's brain shook in pain. It was as if a gunshot was fired right next to his head. He tried covering his ears after the first wave, but it was pointless.

"Please stop yelling or else I won't be able to hear my favorite moans again."

<Humans don't have strong minds. Let this god introduce itself. This god's name is Ptyecryrt Lynette Chrcteryr. This god has entered your brain on your travel through space.>

"Your name is too long," Syth said out loud. He still didn't know where the voice came from, so he gave up searching. It could just a prank and he wasn't going to fall for it.

'Wait a minute. That wasn't the right question to ask. Did the voice just say I traveled through space?' He thought in confusion. 'Wouldn't that mean, my kazoos are gone?!?'

<This is not by your standards a "prank". This god is fully capable of reading every thought, but this god is as confused as you are about your kazoos as this god has just awoken from my majestic slumber.>

"This god, that god. Why do you talk like that? It's so annoying." Syth wondered if this thing had eighth-grader syndrome or just a mental illness.

<This god refers to itself as this god to represent this god's lack of connection to a simple pronoun. Why referring itself as such, this god is able to distance itself from the common creature.>

"Are you possibly my invincible syst…>

<No.>

Syth was cut off immediately. He was stunned. If this wasn't a system, then what the hell is it?

"Then can you give me special abilities."

<No. Are you high?>

'I don't think I have a split personality, right? Should I go see the doctor? I even had a strange dream just before.' He held his chin, thinking about what to do.

<This god is not a split personality.>

"Which split personality would admit it. You're clearly trying to take over my role as the main personality, but I will not allow such an immature self-centered thing to take over." Syth pulled out his phone. He planned to call the therapist, his parents recommended him after he told them that he wanted to make kazoos for a living.

Ring… Ring… Ring…

[Dr. Realy here, what is your problem?]

"Hey doctor, I think I might have a split personality."

<This god is not a split personality.>

Syth ignored it.

[You mean Dissociative Identity Disorder?]

"Yes, yes. That's sounds familiar. Is it curable?" Although Syth wasn't made of money, he was not stubborn about money when it came to his health.

[It is not, but treatment can help. Would you like to book a diagnosis.]

"I will think about it. Thank you." He hanged up.

<This god doesn't know what type of treatment you will try, but it will not work against this god. So don't waste your effort.>

Syth opened up his web browser. He needed to confirm somethings. One is whether he was in an alternate world, and the other being whether or not his Kazoo club still existed. But the moment, his browser opened up he knew he was in an alternate world.

His beautiful idol who should have been holding a pink microphone was wielding a long sword! She's supposed to be singing, not swinging a sword at his opponents. Her cute color dress was replaced with a hard dull piece of iron.

'But her face is still the same.' Syth took a glance at his right hand. No, he had more important things to do right now. After all, Syth still didn't know what type of world he landed himself in.

<Hey, this god can create a clone and enter that device in your hand. As long as you don't try to get rid of this god.>

"What's the point in that?" It was creepy enough having a second personality in his head. He didn't want some virus on his phone as well.

<This god's clone can research everything in an instant and directly send it into your brain when you need it.>

"Hmm…"

<Yes, you would never have to study for tests ever again.>

"Deal! What should I call you? Only two-syllable at most."

<Fine. You may call this god Ptye.>

Syth checked the time. There was still two hours before the Freshman Ceremony ended. He rushed out the door, this time, he brushed his teeth before leaving. Bad breath is bad luck.

Running over to the gymnasium, Syth was able to get a second look at the surroundings. Nearly everyone carried a weapon except Syth. Some students even had enormous beasts to ride on. He felt like he was transported into a fantasy world.

"HEY, WATCH OUT!"

BAM!

A slender girl crashed into him. As her head was buried in his chest, Syth almost had second thoughts until he saw the assault rifle strapped to her side. Although he wasn't an expert in guns, Syth was pretty sure it could kill him without effort.

"Lovely girl, what are you in such a rush for?" He lifted her up with one arm, his eyes still focused on her gun.

"I'm looking for the gymnasium for the Freshman Ceremony." She brushed off her clothes.

"Well you're in luck, I'm going there too."

"Great, you can guide me."

'Why do I feel like a slave?' Syth thought as they walked side by side.

On top of the building, a single person watched them through a binocular. With one hand on the binoculars, they used the other hand to reach into their pocket for an old-fashioned radio. Every movement was swift and without delay.

"Boss, the young lady has walked off with a boy. Should I intercept?"

"No. Standby and report future updates."

"Yes, boss."
