Chapter 3: Jasmine
I woke up at 7am in the morning. I slept well, really well. I brush my teeth then headed downstairs in kitchen to make me a coffee. There was staff working in the kitchen.
'Good morning mam,' both the ladies greeted me in unison. They both look in their mid-thirties.
'Good morning,' I said cheerfully as I stared walking towards refrigerator.
'What can I get you mam,' one of them asked.
'Please call me Jassie, and I like to make my own coffee, thank- you,' I said with genuine smile. I really don't like maids working, aren't we suppose to get our shit together by our own.
They both exchange odd looks then nodded. I went near coffee pot and starts to make me one.
'What's your name?' I asked them.
They both hesitate for a moment but then they answers. One was Bella and other one was Carol. They both are sisters.
I made my coffee and was about to walk out of the kitchen, then my dad came in, dressed in grey suit. And looked handsome as always.
'Good morning ladies,' he said and as he kissed me on my cheek.
'Coffee?' I asked him.
'Yes please, and sweetheart your mom took off in the morning to Seattle for an heart surgery. I don't know when she will be back. And I am heading to an meeting,' he said as I handed him a mug of coffee.
'Ok....dad, I will be fine,' I said.
We both drank our coffee in silence. Then he handed the cup to Bella and dad gives me a hug.
'Wish you all the luck for today, I know you will just rock your first day,' he said and he kissed the top of my head.
'Yes dad. I will. Love you,' I said. He nodded and he started walking out of the kitchen then suddenly stops in his tracks and turns towards me.
'Jassie, I was thinking that you wanna go for shopping?' he asked me.
'Oh, of course not dad. I hate shopping, I just hate doing that stuff,' I said with a pout.
He chuckled, 'I knew it sweetheart, that's the reason I asked, so like usual I will ask my secretary to get you clothes and you can text me whatever you want,' he said.
'I love you dad, that would be great.'
'I love you too, darling,' then he vanished.
'See you both soon. Have a good day,' I said to Bella and Carol as I kept my mug down.
'You to Jassie,' Bella said.
'You will nail you first day,' Carol said.
'I will babes,' I said walking out of the kitchen. I open the door of my room. My room was cleaned. The cleaning staff did, of course. I took nice cold shower. Then I started to pick something up for me. But what?. Blazer will look too professional. Pensil skirt will make me look like assistant.
You are rockstar Jassie. Pull something unique.
I grab a short denim blue skirt, with black tank top. It looks perfect. I curl my hairs in soft waves. My hairs was long, brown and thick, falling below the waist. I loved it. I decided to go for light makeup. With just some gloss, mascara, eye liner and concealer. I grabbed my black boots, running just two inches below my knee with 4 inches heels. My height was 5'8 so I definitely didn't need 6 or 7 inches heels. I stared myself in the mirror.
Just perfect.
I took my guitar and hung it over my shoulder and then grabbing my purse I hurried downstairs. While passing from the kitchen I bid bye to Bella and Carol.
Dad insisted me to let the driver drives me. He is scared with my fascination towards bike. Because my uncle died in bike accident. I just don't like his fancy cars, but I understand my dad's emotions so I decided to take the black Mercedes.
'Good morning mam,' driver greeted me with smile.
'Good morning, please call me Jassie,' I said.
'Whats your name?' I asked him.
He looked at me like I was asking for his back account details.
'Umm..it's Sam,' he said.
'Ok, Sam take me to Pulse music company,' I said. He was young, around 25 or 26 maybe. His hair was sandy. He was wearing his uniform. He look thin but good. I put my headphones and closed my eyes. Music heals me. You just have to feel it. After nearly 20 mins the car came to an halt, I took off the headphone and drew deep breath.
'Thank-you Sam,' I said. He smiled get off from his seat to open the door of the car. He held it open for me.
'Jassie can I get your autograph, I am really a big fan of yours,' he said smiling shyly.
'Of course Sam,' his face lit up with happiness, he gave me a small book, I signed it for him.
'Thank-you, have a great day Jassie,' I smiled and turned to walk to the gate. I showed the security guard my allotment letter. I took the elevator on third floor, directly in the CEO office. The elevator stopped, I stepped out of it with great confidence and walked towards receptionist.
'I am here to meet Mr. Steele, I have an appointment at 9:15,' I said to young woman, who was effortlessly beautiful. She smiled as she makes a phone call to him, I think. I wait patiently for about a minute.
'Mam, he is waiting for you in his office,' she smiled. Then I started to walk away but then she stops me.
'Mam, I really like your music and your voice, I am big fan of yours,' she said. I smiled and glanced down at her batch for her name.
'Thank-you very much, Elizabeth and please call me Jassie,' she nodded then I walked towards his office. I knocked softly at the door.
'Come in,' instructs the deep voice. I opened the door and walked inside the room. Mr. Steele was sitting right in front of me. He looked up from the piles of files.
He was very good looking guy. Handsome and hot and I guess he was around 25. He was well build and had brownish hairs. He stood has I approached him.
'Miss. Braxton,' he said as he held out his hand. I shook it professionally.
'Please call me Jassie, Mr. Steele,' I said as he gestured me to sit down and he sat in his seat. I took my guitar off and sat down.
'And call me Jake, Jassie,' he said.
'Well Jake, thanks for offering me this job,' I said with honest gratitude.
'Come on, you deserve it, I am glad that I have you in my company,' he leaned back in his chair.
'How can I start with my work?' I asked him.
He smiled, then called someone and asked to send William in his office.
'My secretary William will show you your office Jassie, after 20 minutes there is a meeting in conference room, you have to attend it,' Jake said. Then someone knocks at the door. I turns to see a man in mid thirties walking towards us.
'Jassie, he is my secretary William, and William please lead Miss. Braxton to her office,' he said with firm but calm voice.
'You have male secretary that's really surprising,' I said raising my brows.
'Oh yes, I think that's best, then having any woman roaming around me to seek my attention,' he said with a grin.
I nodded, and stood then turned to William. He held the door open for me.
'Mam...,'
'Call me Jassie please and lead the way William, and Jake have a good day ,' I said as started walking.
