Chapter 11: Illusion
The doctor called Cedric and told him that his mother was out of the ICU. Cedric took Moira to the hospital to meet his mom.
"Do I need to get something for her?"
"No, need,"
Moira hissed at him and told him to stop the car at a bouquet shop.
"You don't expect me to greet your mom at the hospital and not bring anything?"
Cedric drives, and as he looks at the side window, he sees someone following him. A few minutes later, Cedric arrived at a bouquet shop, and the car that was following him stopped the moment Cedric stopped his car.
Moira removed her seatbelt, and as she was going to get out of the car, she looked back at Cedric.
"What type of flower does your mom like?"
"Red rose,"
Moira got out of the car and went into the shop. She took her pulse from her bag with her.
Cedric took his gun from the back seat and started driving the car to a corner where no one was there. The car follows it, and Cedric gets out of his car.
He stood in the way as the car was coming forward at full speed. Cedric took his gun and aimed straight at the person's chest in the car.
The person lost control of his car, and Cedric moved out of the way. Cedric shot him again in the head, and the car hit a wall of bricks.
The person's face lay on the steering wheel, as blood was gushing out of his mouth. Cedric went to meet him and look at his wallet, and he saw an ID badge. He saw the person's name, and he took a picture of the ID badge.
He sent the picture to Douglass and texted him to look the man up.
Moira was done buying the flowers and was shocked to not see Cedric's car there. She called him, but he didn't pick up.
Cedric was driving to where Moira was. He saw her, as she was waiting with the flower.
A surge of warmth enveloped Cedric as his gaze met the face he yearned for ---- a face he had grieved and mourned. It couldn't be real, as he closed and opened his eyes. The person he then saw was Moira.
He doesn't know if he should feel relief or not, but what he knows is that they are both pretty.
Cedric didn't know what drew him to her. Was it because of her face? Her boldness? No one has ever talked to him the way Moira talked to him, except for her.
Moira was standing, waiting for Cedric to come. Cedric drove off to where Moira was standing.
"Where did you go?" she asked as she entered the car.
"I just dealt with something."
30 minutes later, Cedric arrived at the hospital. He parked in the parking lot.
As Moira was about to get out of the car, he held her by her hand.
"Remove your piercings."
"What are you talking about now?" Moira said as she sat back down.
"You can only leave on,"
Moira looked at Cedric up and down and eye rolled him. She didn't say anything and just opened the car door to get outside.
Cedric follows her and stands in front of her.
"Am I not talking to you?"
"Who the fuck are you to control what I put on my body?" she said. "Last time, it was my dress, and this time it was my piercings. What reason do you have?" she said, as she crossed her arms.
"Do this for me, and I will pay you."
"Do you think I don't have money?" she said, as she pointed to herself. "If I need money, I know where to look for it."
Cedric pressed her against the car, and he raised her chin up.
"You just came back from the UK not long ago, and you are just settling down," she said. "I don't think you have money, and I also don't think your father will give you money, considering how I alienate you from your father."
Moira looked away and pushed him away from her. She knew he was right, and she is literally surviving on the money her father gave her when she was in the UK.
"Fine, I will do that," she said.
She removes her piercings from her ears and puts them in her pause. As they were walking through the parking lot, Cedric said he forgot something and went back to his car to get it. Moira stood in the middle of the parking lot, waiting for Cedric.
A car came at full speed toward Moira, and Moira stood there frozen.
