Chapter 14: CHAPTER 14
Coralline's POV
Damon opened the door of his car for me and I entered. He went round the car and sat on the drivers seat. He drove out of the hospital. Throughout the ride, I kept thinking about 'his Charlotte' like what if she comes back, or what if they are already married.
I won't deny I've already developed feelings for him. I don't want to be the second woman. It's better I keep my distance if not the feelings I'd develop for him would be more than the one that's there now, and I don't want that.
We got to the mansion and I went inside leaving him tailing behind. I looked back at him and mustered up courage to 'What happened to Charlotte?'
'I don't get' he said
'Since she's the love of your life, why isn't she here with you? Wouldn't she be angry if she meets me here?' I asked in one breath awaiting his answer.
He looked amused like he wanted to burst into laughter but before he could reply I heard a female voice 'Damon, you're finally here I've been waiting for you' she said hugging him tightly. I took a close look at her and wow she looks stunning. She's got the perfect shape and really beautiful.
'Is she the one?'I asked Damon
He looked dumbfounded and didn't reply.
'So she's actually Charlotte' I thought painfully and ran to the room I stayed before. I heard Damon calling me but I ignored him.
I knew it wouldn't take long before his love comes back but I didn't know it would be this soon. I entered inside the room and locked the door. I sat down on the floor while facing my back to the door and started shedding tears. Am I cursed never to find love?
I didn't know how long I sat there crying. I stood up to go and use the bathroom because I was pressed. When I came out of the bathroom, I heard Damon banging on my door asking me to open.
Damon's POV
I saw the pained look in her eyes when she walked away. I called her back but she didn't answer me. I tried to go after but that was when I noticed Rita's hands was still on my waist. I pulled her away angrily and asked 'what are you doing here?'
'Baby I missed you, don't you miss me too?' She asked batting her fake lashes
'No, how did you find out I'm here?' I asked her
'Forget about that, I came all the way from New Orleans just to see you and you're not even happy?'
'I didn't ask you to come here so leave' I told her
'I just came here and you're asking me to leave? What has gotten into you Damon?' She asked
'Don't make me chase you out of my house, leave while I'm asking nicely' I told her
She chuckled and said 'it's because of that lady isn't it? You're chasing me out because of that slut'
I grabbed her neck tightly and asked 'what did you just call her?'
'Damon please' she begged choking
I ignored her and kept choking her.
When she was almost out of breath, I released her. She fell on the floor breathing heavily. I called my guards and they through her out while she screamed. Good riddance.
Rita's pov
The stupid guards ignored my screams and through me out of the mansion.
I was very embarrassed because people were staring at me like I've gone crazy. I fumed inside.
Damon you would regret this. If I can't have you, no one can.
Coralline's POV
I let him in. 'What do you want from me?' I asked him.
'Why are you crying?' He asked caressing my face.
I shoved his hands away and said 'I can't stay here anymore. Charlotte is back and I don't want to make her uncomfortable by my presence. Thank you for...'
I was cut off by his lips on mine. I tried to move out of his embrace but he didn't let me. I gave up struggling and kissed him back. He let go when I was almost out of breath.
'You can never leave me' he said
'But what about...'
'She isn't Charlotte, she has left already. You're Charlotte' I looked at him like he's crazy
'I'll explain everything to you. Both our parents were....'
