Jingguo loved the way his father rode the horse. He never felt this calm and happy on the horse. He always feared sitting on it and his heart would always be restless. His father had asked him to hold the reins after covering a certain distance, which scared him.
"Trust this horse and also have faith in yourself," Sheng Li told him as he lowered his horse's speed. General Wang and a few other soldiers had also slowed down their respective horses.
Jingguo kept the words of his father in his mind. He was not scared unlike before because he knew his father was behind him. So, if anything wrong happened his father would handle it.
"I heard from your mother, you want to be like me," Sheng Li said. He wanted to converse with his son because it would distract his mind.
"Yes, Father. I want to be like him someday," Jingguo said.
"Be yourself," Sheng Li told his son.
