Jeff looked at her as if he doubted that she was okay. "We can come here again if you like the food," he explained with a straight face as if he thought the food, was her problem. He didn't even take note of her question.

Amy's eyes widened in disbelief before she narrowed her eyes and tipped his chin. "Hey, I asked a question first."

Sometimes, she was sure she got her fun from poking or from ruffling the man up. Jeff's eyes flickered to the food on the table and then to her. "You asked?"

A devilish smirk graced her face and Jeff lifted his brows. "Did you just confess?"

Jeff furrowed his brows, his eyes searching hers with a hint of curiosity. "If I said yes, you'll date me?" and he had the guts to give her conditions. She wasn't mad, she could rarely be at this almost innocent creature.

Her smirk didn't drop. "No, confessions are romantic, you need to work hard for that." She turned to her meal to finish it.
