Chapter 12: Chapter 12- First Night Out
Bruce was wrong. He thought he could finish reading all the unsolved cases within 24 hours. But he was so wrong. He has been sitting in front of the Bat-computer for more than 48 hours. He didn't even sleep for this long time.
It is not that there were too many cases that he cannot complete researching all the cases. There was bound to be a link between some cases. And there were. Which ORACLE can easily find and sort out. But the problem lies within the police force. Even from reading the cases, he can find out that too many police are on some criminal's payroll. They buried the cases and did a very sloppy job at that. Bruce found out all the corrupted police he can find from these case files.
It wasn't that there were no good cops. Although they were in minority, there were many. Most of them are new cops who have not done any dirty work till now. Few detectives are really good. One of them is Detective George Stacy. He likes him the most from all the detectives. He is not even fully clean. There are some criminals he just let go. Most of them are the victim of circumstances. He has a heart and he is just. He is a really good candidate for his future task.
He has all the proof he needs in his hand to suspend many of the corrupted cops. But he did not have anyone he could trust. Now that he found one he is thinking about how to proceed with the task.
The first thing he did is he compiled all the proof in a storage device. Then he took an evidence collecting bag, that has a bat symbol printed in a corner. He plans to send this data to Detective George Stacy anonymously.
He is awake for two days straight. He needs sleep. He had planned on going out on patrol for the first time. But he had to cancel the plan. Because of all this research, he is 2 days late. He will sleep through the day and go out at night.

When the moon has come up in the sky Batman went out to patrol. He had a target in mind. A murder case. But before that, he has a storage drive to deliver.
Batman sneaked into the house of George Stacy. He directly went to his room. And left an envelope which is addressed to Detective George Stacy.
Batman then went to the murder site. The murder happened recently. It is a warehouse in Manhattan. But surprisingly enough it was not empty.
Few men were beating up another man.
-"You bastards killed one of our men here right. Today we will kill you here. Let's see how your boss likes that."
-"AHHHHHHHH… Please. It had nothing to do with me. I wasn't even here that day."
-"Tell that to Death when you are in hell."
Bruce had to intervene. If he did not, that man will not survive.
Bruce- "ORACLE. Call 911. Call the police here."
Oracle- "Done sir. Police will be here in 5 minutes."
Bruce- "Enough time."
Batman took out 3 Batarangs and threw them towards the lights. The warehouse went dark. The only light that came from the door was the light from outside. Then Batman jumped down from the ceiling on one of the men. He punched him on the head from behind. The man was out cold. Other goons were shocked.
-"Hey, who are you."
Batman- "BATMAN."
-"You bastard. Today you are dead. Nobody can save you from me."
That man ran towards him with a knife. Bruce sidestepped the knife strike and caught the hand of that man with a strong grip. Then he punched the guy in on the chin with an uppercut. That guy also got knocked out with one punch.
The other two men were frightened. They can't even see what took two of their guys down. All they can see is dark shadow moving.
The other two guys came close together to fight against the shadow. At that moment the man they were beating up, make a run for it. Batman threw an Electric Batarang at him. After the Batarang hit his head, He was already super dizzy. But as a cherry on the top, he also got electrocuted hard. So that man cannot run anymore.
At last, Batman focused on the last two enemies. He also quickly dispatched them to the knock-out land. After binding the 4 of them with his capture tape, he took the electrocuted man with him and hanged him from the ceiling.
He used his Bat-claw to hang him. First, he shot toward the man's leg. The claw caught that leg. Then he pointed the Bat-claw towards the ceiling and fired a second time. Another small claw came out and locked itself in the ceiling. The second claw had a ring from where the rope passed. Then with the press of a switch, he reeled in the rope a little and that man got hanged.
Batman- "Who do you work for?"
-"I work for nobody. I am just a middle man."
Batman- "Tell me all you know about the murder case that happened here two days ago."
-"I don't know anything about that."
Batman had a special sound receiving technology fitted in his cowl. It can capture all the sounds that humans can normally hear and more. Using it he can even listen to whispering from 20 meters away. But the most impressive feature is that it can take even very subtle sound from 5 meters radius and filter it for his many needs. Like how he can say from his heartbeat that the man lied.
Batman held the man's wrist and dislocated it.
*CRACK*
-"AAAHHHHHHHHH… Please I don't know anything about that. I was not here that time."
Batman- "This is the first time you said anything truth. You were not here at that time. But you know the truth. So tell me. Or I will start dislocating other 49 places that I can dislocate and relocate."
-"No. I am not lying. I am not even part of those two gangs. One of them is a Russian gang. The other is local. My job is to just dispose of the illegal goods. I don't participate in any of their gang work. Nor do I know any of the bosses."
*CRACK*
-"AAAHHHHMMMMMMMM."
This time Batman dislocated his collarbone. Then before he completed his scream Batman held his mouth tight.
Batman- "Next I will start pulling out your teeth with my bare hands. So I suggest you start talking"
-"Ok. Ok. I will tell all I know. There was a stage fight between two gangs a few days ago. It was supposed to be one on one fight. But Russians did not follow the rules. After their fighter lost the fight, they shot the other one directly. From there the fight escalated."
Batman- "What about the child."
-"I heard that some child went running into the warehouse during the shootout screaming 'monster'. That is when someone shot him. He just got caught in the middle."
Batman- "You will tell the police everything you told me and all the other questions they ask truthfully. Or I will find you again, even if you leave this Earth."
After that, he knocked him out with a chop on his nape.
As he climbed onto the roof, he heard the police siren. Batman then disappeared in the night.
