Chapter 33: Asgardians on Earth 2
Amidst the fury of the Bifrost storm, the Warriors Three and
Sif drop to the ground in the New Mexico desert. They clamber to their feet as the Bifrost quickly recedes, the hole in the sky closing up behind it. The Bifrost runes cover the desert sand around them.
"He must have landed nearby," Volstagg muttered. "It's time to put our tracking skills to work. Spread out. Check the sand for indentations of his boot prints."
"The winds would have blown them away by now." Vandral responded, "We should look for signs of a campfire."
"Or we could just start there. " Sif pointed behind them to the town of Puente Antiguo in the distance . the only visible sign of civilization....Hogun already started walking towards it. Volstagg and Fandral trade looks, their egos bruised.
"It's worth a look,I suppose." Fandral sighed, They followed him towards town
The citizens stared at them in wonder as Sif and the warrior three strolled down the street in all their Asgardian glory.
A boy Hits a baseball, which rolls under a parked car. He ran to retrieve it, but couldn't reach it. Suddenly, the side of the car raised into the air. The boy looked over, his mouth dropping open at what he sees. Volstagg easily holds the car up with one hand. Volstagg picks up the boy's ball, then drops the car. He hands the ball back to the boy, tousling his hair.
"There you go, lad!"
The boy just stared at him frozen. The Asgardians move on.
" Is it just me, or does Earth look a little different to you?" Volstagg asked
"It has been a thousand years..." Sif trailed off
"Things change so fast here. You leave for a millennium, and it's like the whole neighborhood's gone." Volstagg sniffed smelling something
"Perhaps we should split up." Sif suggested
Agents of shield name Cale and Garrett spotted Sif, Fandral, and Hogun walking down the street.
"Is there a Renaissance Faire in town?" Garret asked
"Call it in." Cale responded, But before they can, Volstagg rose slowly behind them before he smashed their heads together. knocking them out.
"Never cared for spies."
He starts to go, then sees their bag of fast food on the ground. Intrigued, he pulls out a cheeseburger and takes a bite. He likes what he tastes.
"Exquisite," Volstag mumbled in between bites.
Back with Sun and the others at jane's house
" Found you!"
Thor, Loki, Sun, Jane, Selvig, and Darcy turn to see Sif and the Warrior three at the door
" My friends!" Thor happily raced over and greets his comrades. Jane, Selvig, and Darcy watch the Asgardians from across the room. Jane had on a concerned look. Selvig and Darcy eye them with wonder.
"I don't believe it..." Selvig mumbled, But the evidence was right there in his sight.
"Who are they?" Darcy asked
"Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. Surely you've heard tales of Hogun the Grim, Fandral the Dashing, and Volstagg the Svelte?" Selvig looked pointedly at Volstagg's massive gut.
"Well, perhaps I've put on a little more muscle since I was here last." Voltagg smiled sheepishly
"That would have been a thousand years ago?" Jane asked curiously "Northern Europe?"
"Exactly! Those lovely herring people. They worshipped us"Thor grinned, and laid a hand on Volstagg's shoulder.
My friends, I've never been happier to see anyone." Thor said, "I am glad to have come."
" We're here to defeat the frost giants in battle afterward, take you home."
" You know I can't. This war had started because of me, I broke the peace truce. I should not go back until I am worthy enough to hold my hammer." Thor said.
They were shocked by his actions, surely Thor would have agreed wholeheartedly.
"The best thing you can do is get the mortals to safety and leave the battle to us."
"Jane and the others can help with that, I will help with the army," Sun replied, "However, it is Thor's business to deal with Laufey Alone."
Sif gave him the cold stare, "Instead of facing him yourself, you'd rather leave Thor to deal with the leader... like a coward-"
Sun has had enough he latched out at her launching her headfirst into the door frame. knocking her out cold. Loki smiled and watch pleasantly as Sif's body hit the ground. There were looks of surprise, fear, and amusement from everyone.
"She irritates me." Sun said simply.
"Even still, that was a very foolish thing to do in time of battle." Hogan said.
"She was not needed, nor was any of you." Sun retorted, before he since multiple life signatures appear on earth, "They are here."
