Chapter 9: Speak Of The Devil
when I arrived home I greeted May and went upstairs I throw my bag on the bed and grabbed my suit
I noticed someone behind so I looked back and saw May standing there with a worried expression on her face
I approached her and kissed her on the forehead and hugged her body
" Peter... I'm afraid to lose you too"
" No, Don't ever think I'll leave you one day... I'll always be by your side no matter what "
she then traced her fingers on a slash that was on my suit
" did it hurt?"
" it was just a small scratch your little man is tough "
" Not anymore," she said chuckling a little while putting her hands on my chest
" I will go now May " I said but before I turn she grabbed my head and kissed me on the cheek
" Be careful out there " I nodded at her and disappeared from her sight she gasped a little at my sudden disappearance
she put her hand on her beating heart while saying
" he is your nephew May what's wrong with you? "she shook her head and sighed while going downstairs
I stood looking at her until she left thinking, what did she mean by her words
I thought about something but I just shook my head removing this thought... it's impossible we are family after all
I sighed and went toward the window and jumped heading to the city
I arrived there after some time and kept searching for any criminal activities
I saw some people wearing masks and holding guns but I didn't do anything because they were loading wooden crates into a truck
I waited until they finished and jumped on top of the truck while using my invisibility
after some time we arrived at an old factory and they went in, I saw more people inside they were ten people in total all of them armed with guns
I jumped to the ceiling hanging myself with a web and waiting
" We need to complete this transaction or the boss will be very mad at us," said one of the thugs
" it's not our problem this guy who names himself DareDevil keeps a track of our boss's operations "
I noticed someone looking at me, I panicked but when I looked at him he just nodded and I nodded back
' speak of the devil... literally' I went to him and stood beside him he could see me but they can't
" were you planning on taking all of them by yourself " I whispered to him and he shook his head in return
" I'm trying to hold any evidence on the kingpin "
" oh... are you waiting for the others " I said he nodded in return
" Well let's take care of them first before the others come "
" how " he asked looking at me
" Don't worry, I will take their guns then you can show up and beat some of them "
he nodded at me and waited, I jumped at the ceiling again still invisible and began shooting my webs at their guns, my webs were also invisible as they are a part of my body
when I made sure that every weapon is attached to my webs, I canceled my invisibility and pulled all of the weapons at once
" what the hell" shouted one of them but I silenced him by hitting him with the guns like a mace
I already noticed The DareDevil fighting two of them and I already knocked one so the seven remaining were looking at me cautiously
I threw the weapons at a far corner so they can't reach them again before a four of them dashed at me from different directions and the rest were waiting for an opportunity to strike
when they were near me I backflipped behind the guy coming at me from behind, I shot two webs at the one that was coming from the front
then I pulled while kicking the guy under me in the back making their heads pump together and making them fall in the process
I then began circulating my electricity through my fists and legs then dashed at the two left
I kicked the one standing on the left in his stomach with my right leg
then rotated my body using my left leg kicking the other in the face and landing on my two hands
he fell unconscious due to my electricity while the other guy was thrown a few meters back
I felt danger coming from behind, I quickly tilted my head to the left avoiding a punch that was aimed at me from the back
but before he retracts his hand I grabbed it and flipped him over myself, before he falls to the ground I kicked his that was upside down making his eyes turn white while on his side
' two down ' I thought while flashing behind the three guys that stood up the three of them were lined beside each other
I jumped at two heads planting their faces on the ground while my electricity took them down
and with my still two hands on their head, I raised my two legs using them to grab the other guy's head and pulling downward making his head hit the ground hard
I used his head as a foot place and jumped in the flashing in front of the remaining two, kicking both of them with a roundhouse kick taking them down I never held back after all
with the last of them falling I felt the daredevil approaching me
" good work spider-man, you can leave the rest to me "
" no problem, I know you want to take down the kingpin, and so am I, if there is something I can help you with just tell me"
" I don't know why a young man like you doing this dangerous stuff but I see that you are capable"
" How did you know that I'm still young? " I said with a surprised expression
" you can say... that I'm a very good detective"
" however there is something you can do, I noticed that those thugs couldn't see you even after you shot your webs at them"
" so let me guess you have some kind of ability that can make you invisible "
" yes I have "
" if you really wanna help we can do something that can take down the kingpin once and for all"
" someone like the kingpin will always leave files and documents about his illegal activities in a safe place "
" if you could sneak into his place and find those stuff you can give them to me and kingpin's empire will in one night "
" I think I can do such a thing, but how do I contact you " he approached me and offered me a card with a number
" When you manage to put your hands on that evidence give them to this detective and he will do the rest "
" oh Matt Murdock, that explains why you are such a good dectitve" I said while chuckling but before he says anything I jumped to a window leaving this place
