Chapter 112: MUP: Chapter 111. Unexpected Incident
New York, the thespian trio.
No, no, no, it was Ryan and his party.
Under Natasha's deliberate guidance, they arrived at a café.
The café was packed, but Ryan was clearly aware of a few slightly distinct figures nestled in various corners of the café. Obviously, apart from Natasha, the agent, S.H.I.E.L.D., had also arranged for other people to deal with any unexpected incidents that may come up.
After all, Peng Lai was a mysterious force unknown to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the past. Even though Ip Man's attitude towards S.H.I.E.L.D. was very friendly, S.H.I.E.L.D., as an intelligence agency, wasn't completely convinced by these statements and was somewhat wary.
"Master Roshi, I want to know more about Peng Lai."
Deliberately shifting her chair towards Ryan's position, Natasha turned her face sideways, holding her chin with a flirtatious smile as she continued to pursue the question.
"It doesn't need to be too detailed. Some interesting stories will do."
Natasha changed tactics and used chit-chatting as a way of getting to the important stuff.
"A short story would be fine."
With a surprised expression on his face, Ryan deliberately glanced at Ip Man sitting opposite him. The clone immediately nodded, "If it doesn't involve Peng Lai's secrets, it's not much of a problem."
When Natasha heard that, her mouth slightly smiled wider; her plan had succeeded.
As an agent, Natasha knew that some important information was often hidden in some unknown little stories. Noticing Ryan's gaze from the side, she then flashed a smile and made an anticipating expression.
Silently glancing at Natasha, Ryan started scouring his brain to create small stories related to Peng Lai.
He found that he was underestimating Natasha. How could the other party, as the Black Widow, and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s famous agent, be fooled by him so easily?
"In fact, there's nothing too much to say. Peng Lai is a boring place. It can't be compared to New York." Fortunately, Ryan had another trick. His eyes swept over the café, lingering deliberately on a certain skimpily dressed blonde, and smacked his lips perfunctorily.
"Master Roshi."
Ryan's appearance gave Natasha a slight headache. However, keeping up with the flirtatious act, reached out and grabbed his palm, "You promised to tell me about Peng Lai for a date."
"Okay, okay..."
Natasha went straight for it, and Ryan had to look reluctant to pull his gaze back. He sighed and opened his mouth to say what he had thought of earlier.
Boom --
Just then, a loud explosion came from the street not far from the café. Then, accompanied by screaming, a large number of panicked people ran and scattered.
"Something's happening!"
Natasha frowned at the sight. From the panicked expressions of the crowd, it was obvious that what had happened in the other street wasn't something ordinary.
Then Fury's voice came from her earpiece, "Agent Romanoff."
"What's happening?" Gathering the smile on her face, Natasha resumed her agent temperament, "I heard multiple explosions."
"It's the Hulk, he's been spotted in New York again." By accessing the military's systems, S.H.I.E.L.D. quickly figured out the source of the incident, "I need you to step in and evacuate the crowd. It involves the Hulk, and I'm worried about any accidents."
"Got it." Nodding gently, Natasha stood up and glanced around in the café, "Sorry guys, new mission. I need your help to disperse the clear crowd."
As Natasha gave the order, several agents were immediately seen standing up from the crowd.
Looking back, Natasha turned to Ryan, who was still sitting in the café, and smiled a little apologetically, "Sorry, Master Roshi, our date is temporarily on hold. There are more important things waiting for me at the moment."
"What the hell is going on?" At this point, Ip Man, who was sitting on the other side of the table, spoke up and asked Black Widow.
"There's a little problem." Out of the agent's habit of secrecy, Natasha subconsciously concealed the answer to Ip Man's enquiry.
Bang --
Immediately afterwards, a car fell from the sky and crashed heavily on the ground, turning into a twisted mass of scrap metal.
Natasha had to rephrase, "Well, it's a pretty big problem."
As one of the few agents with the highest authority within S.H.I.E.L.D., Natasha had seen Hulk's profile and knew full well that with the great strength the other party possessed, it was clearly not something ordinary people could compete with if he did make a scene in New York.
"But don't worry too much, we'll step in and sort it all out." Squashing the concern in her mind, Natasha then addressed Ip Man and Ryan.
However, it was clear that Natasha's words didn't have any effect.
Standing up, Ryan looked out in the direction where the explosion had come from.
There weren't many people at this early stage who could make that much noise in New York. Whatever that was, it was a good target for Ryan. He appeared in front of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Master Roshi, but it wasn't really just for dating Black Widow and drinking coffee. His true goal was reputation points.
Thinking of that, he immediately spoke to Ip Man and said, "Ip Man, let's go and have a look."
After saying that, before Natasha could react, his figure had disappeared from her sight, leaving no traces.
It took Natasha a moment to realise that the other party was from the mysterious Peng Lai and not just a lecherous old man.
Although, in the time that they have been in contact, Ryan had mostly been acting as a womaniser...
Even Natasha overlooked the fact that there would naturally be some reason for Ip Man to call Roshi Master.
"Maybe, we can help." At this time, Ip Man spoke up, "Besides, with Master Roshi's strength, he should be able to solve the big problem you are talking about with ease."
"I hope so."
It's not that Natasha didn't believe in Peng Lai's strength, it's just that she couldn't believe that Roshi, with his scrawny and elderly appearance, could defeat the Hulk. That green guy could easily smash a car and swat a missile away. As far as the size was concerned, Roshi wasn't even as thick as one of Hulk's arms.
"Master Ip, are you sure Mr Roshi can win? "
"Of course."
As Ip Man spoke up, he quickly ran towards the direction Master Roshi had disappeared to.
Looking at Ip Man's back as he departed, Natasha didn't hesitate and followed suit.
She needed to confirm if everything Ip Man said was true for herself.
