At night, in the arena
Tonight's arena is exceptionally cheerful, with the spectator stands packed full of people. The number of flying vehicles in the sky has nearly doubled, and cheers and shouts can be heard throughout most of Sakaar.
Because tonight is the moment when the greatest champion is decided
Two months of preparation have made this final battle the center of attention for thousands of people, not only locals from Sakaar but also many others from other planets who have come from far and wide to witness the event.
In the VIP room, Grandmaster is receiving a special guest.
"I was wondering when you guys would come to pick him up."
Grandmaster sits on the sofa, excitedly watching the crowds outside. This joyful and tense atmosphere is one of his favorites.
On the other end of the couch sat a woman who looked like a goddess
She wore a white, gauzy long dress with waist-length blonde hair falling down her back. Her eyes were attractive, her lips red, and her skin was as smooth as a baby's.
Her beauty was so breathtaking that it made the stars in the sky pale. Her alluring charm was mixed with an unusual air of heroism.
This woman was Athena.
The goddess of warfare and wisdom in Greek mythology.
She looked at Grandmaster with a hint of fear, but her face remained calm as she said, "Actually, I didn't want to come and get him. Ares only think about fighting, and Olympus is too peaceful for him. This place is more suitable for him."
"Why did you come to get him then?" Grandmaster asked curiously. "I was hoping he could stay for a while longer. His battles are always full of violence and bloodshed, and I enjoy that," he added.
"This is Zeus' decision, and I'm not sure why," Athena replied.
"That mysterious old man ruining my mood," Grandmaster muttered irritably. Athena would have probably attacked them if it were anyone else, but she knew she couldn't mess with someone like him.
Athena changed the subject and turned to Jack.
"Ah, that's a good question, but I don't want to tell you. You should figure it out yourself," Grandmaster replied.
Seeing the behavior of the Grandmaster, who seemed like a child, Athena was speechless.
This person is older than Zeus but acting like this.
At this moment, there was another wave of cheers in the arena, and Athena's attention was drawn to the bottom, where she saw Jack walking into the arena.
"This human..."
Athena frowned and looked at him, puzzled.
As a former god of Earth, she almost instantly recognized Jack's identity, and it was because of this that she felt confused.
Aren't Earthlings weak and ignorant? How could this person compete with Ares on the same stage?
She instinctively looked towards Grandmaster and noticed that his expression had become more excited after Jack entered the arena.
She suppressed her doubts and continued watching as she couldn't use her divine powers on Sakaar and had no other information.
Jack suddenly looked up at her, and their eyes met.
Athena raised an eyebrow in surprise, and her eyes shone as if she had discovered something. She smirked and thought to herself, "So that's it."
Jack was stunned by Athena's beauty. He had never seen anyone more outstanding than her in his past and present lives.
When he saw her sitting beside Grandmaster, he subconsciously assumed she was his wife or lover. So he quickly changes his gaze toward the arena.
Just then, the ground shook, and the opposite door suddenly exploded open, and a burly figure walked out of the dust.
It was Ares
It had been over a month since Jack had last seen him. He didn't know what he had been fighting this past month, but he had grown taller again.
He held a giant axe in his hand, with a more bloodthirsty look in his eyes, and even the killing intent overflowed in the arena.
He looked at Jack with expectant eyes, his face even more bloodthirsty and cruel. He knew without thinking that he was probably being treated like food.
"Roar!"
The bell for the match sounded, and Ares roared loudly as he charged toward Jack with his two strong legs, carrying an unstoppable speed.
Each step he took was heavy and left cracks in the ground, leaving a mark with every step.
Halfway through the charge, Ares pushed off with one leg, stamping the ground and creating a huge five-meter-wide pit.
He flew into the air like a rocket, wielding his giant axe above his head and cruelly swinging it down toward Jack's head.
"Can't take it!" Jack thought as he looked at Ares. Then, seemingly as a reflex, he kicked off the ground and flew backward.
Just as he flew out, Ares' axe came down.
As the axe hit the ground, the entire arena, and even half of the city, trembled violently like an earthquake.
The audience was caught off guard and fell over, but they all stood up instead of complaining and continued to cheer.
"Damn it!"
Valkyrie frowned her eyebrows, looking worried. Ares was really powerful. Even without using his divine power, he was a powerful opponent!
In the arena, where the dust had previously filled the air and covered everything, a gust of wind suddenly blew, dispersing the dust.
People then noticed that Ares' axe was broken, and a ditch over two meters wide and over ten meters long had been dug out of the ground.
On one end of the ditch stood Ares, with a bloodthirsty expression on his face and having thrown away his axe. On the other end, Jack stood with a serious and cautious look.
The power of Ares is not to be underestimated. One strike caused such a shock on the ground. Even he couldn't absorb the energy produced by that blow in time and had to avoid it for the time being.
He thought this last battle wouldn't be too difficult, but now it seems he needs to be more serious.
