Chapter 22: Chapter 22 | Meeting Howard Stark
At LexCorp, Lex is getting ready to meet Howard Stark at his private estate, while he was getting ready, he sees Susan walking towards him.
She has a frown on her face. "Lex, you know this Senator Craig? He is known for getting in other's people wallets. All he does is lie, cheat, and steal. Their has been rumors, he has a mistress."
Lex's brow raised, a curious look appears on his face, as he began to analyze her answers. Lex knows this information about Senator Craig. But, why does she have anger towards Senator Craig.
Lex smiles and clears his throat. "Why are you telling me this? Are you catching feelings Susan? Or do you care about my well-being?"
Susan has a serious look on her face. She clearly is not here to joke and play games with Lex. "No, I'm just warning you that those greedy Politicians will squeeze you, until you have nothing left."
Lex smiles while taking her warning to heart. He knows that Senator Craig will look for any opportunity to betray him, but Lex won't give him the chance.
He walks up to Susan and look her in the eyes. "Thank you for caring about my safety and well-being. Don't worry, I know how to handle men like Senator Craig."
Leaving with that Statement. Lex begun to walk away. Susan looks at Lex's back with a serious gaze. Thinking on how to stop Senator Craig.
At a beautiful, large mansion on top of the hills, their you see a man dressed to impress with a three-piece suit and diamond, gold Rolex on his wrist.
"Sir, Mr. Luthor is on his way! What do you plan on doing in this meeting? The public doesn't have a clear view of Lex Luthor, but he is a well-established individual."
Howard was looking at his balcony, behind him was all the advanced tech in his house. Their, you'll even see blueprints of the Arc Reactor. "I'm just curious of this man. I haven't heard a lot about him, because of the War. He is a complete mystery! That's why I'm hoping to solve some of my questions today."
Jarvis nods, while walking back to the kitchen. He is preparing Howard's favorite meal.
Meanwhile, Lex pulls up in a black limousine. His chauffeur gets out of the car and opens the door for him. Lex gets out of the car and nods at the chauffeur. After nodding, he looks around at the size and beauty of the mansion. Lex is impressed with what Howard Stark achieved at his age.
Looking down from the balcony, Howard walks down to meet Lex.
Inside the house, Howard puts on his charismatic smile and throws his arms up in a welcoming manner. The moment, Lex entered the house, he smells burnt electricity, and cigarettes.
"Mr. Stark! It's pleasure to meet you again on this beautiful lunch hour. I feel you have a lot of questions you want to ask of me and me of you."
Howard nods his head and clears his throat. "Right on the spot. Yes, Mr. Luthor, I would like to ask you a couple of questions, especially about LexCorp."
Lex was silent. He came here today with the expectations of him talking about LexCorp. He might wants to buy it, but Lex won't sell it. In a few years, his company will become a Multinational Corporation and will acquire Stark Industries.
"Let's eat lunch, shall we?"
Meanwhile, inside the technologically advanced mansion, their were cameras recording the situation the entire. Looking through those cameras, you can see Peggy Carter there.
"Ms. Carter, what do you find suspicious about this man? He doesn't look like a spy from the Axis. I have also read his background information and he doesn't look like, he had previous relations with the criminal underworld."
Peggy sneers at the man behind her before saying. "I don't care about his background information, what I care about is, how does this mysterious man appeared out of nowhere. Previously, their was no prior evidence of his existence. Is he a spy or an immigrant. If the latter is true, I would have to look through the immigration policy and see if he is an immigrant."
Said Peggy, as Senator Craig walks in and heard Peggy's prior conversation. "You know Ms. Carter, it's illegal to spy on someone without their consent. What happens if he finds out?"
"Well, nothing will happen, because, their are no spies or snitches here, right Senator?"
Peggy narrows her eyes. As she stares a hole through Senator Craig's soul, making him feel uncomfortable. Senator Craig smiles and just said. "Right Ms. Carter, but you would have to have authorization before doing anything treasonous like this."
Peggy rolls her eyes in annoyance, as she turns the cameras off and walks away with Senator Craig in tow.
Back in the mansion, Lex smiles and is enjoying his conversation with Howard, while eating his lunch.
Jarvis comes back in with a bottle of wine and some dessert. Howard smiles at this, while looking at the dessert like a spoiled child.
Lex seeing Jarvis come over here, he smiles and spoke. "Howard, you should give this butler. His food food is delicious. How much you want for him?" Spoke Lex sarcastically.
Feeling slightly offended, Howard muttered. "Jarvis is not for sale, haha!" Laughed Howard.
While they continuing to eat, Howard's telephone rung. Making the men stop their talk for a short time. Jarvis was closest, so he picks up the phone and says, "Hello!"
"Hi, can I please talk to Mr. Luthor?"
Jarvis looks at Lex and says. "They want to talk to you, Mr. Luthor."
Lex gets up and puts the phone to his ear. Their was a brief silence before saying.
"Agent Carter is taken care of for now. The cameras are down."
After those words, Lex smiles and sat back down at the table, his smiles turns cold and the room's temperature immediately to volatile levels. Making Howard sweat.
"Let the real discussion began, Mr. Stark!"
