-------------

After seeing the goddamn core of Markar transform into a creature, Super Skrull, to his real name Kl'rt, did not hesitate one single second to flee.

Super Skrull had faced quite a few dangerous foes in his life, one of them he was currently teaming up with, and he had seen weapons of mass destruction deal such devastating damage that it would mark him for his entire life.

However, as he saw the core of a planet take life and turn into a living creature, Super Skrull did not even think as his body fled by itself. With a speed he had never reached in the past, Super Skrull reached the hole they came here from, and found it to be sealed.

Edward had been opening the way forward, but he also closed behind them so the tunnel wouldn't fall onto their heads. Super Skrull already knew that, but he expected Edward to open the way to escape.

But as he looked back, he was shocked to find Edward… going for the beast!

Super Skrull opened his eyes wide, treating him as the madman he was before diving straight into the rock, turning it into magma as he forced his way through.

Despite his plasma from, he wasn't really immune to fire, and so passing through the magma he was creating with his passage burned his body, but he couldn't care less as it was nothing compared to the heat he had felt coming from the Golden Dragon.

Already when they arrived in the cave, he started sweating as he felt the heat from the planetary core, but when it transformed the heat somehow increased by several notches, and it even got closer.

Edward was fine facing the extremely hot temperature thanks to his Dragon Fire, which had refined his body and core, but Super Skrull wasn't fine.

So Super Skrull endured the pain, while feeling the occasional shock waves travelling to him as the two monsters fought.

Super Skrull was feeling mixed feelings toward Edward, when they first met each other he took the man as an extremely strong threat, but through later analysis he found him to actually not be that strong, to be even a little weak.

But when they met once again, Edward had grown much stronger, to the point he was capable of flying, and his mere presence was triggering Super Skrull's Danger Sense, which he had developed over his years in the military.

However, Edward turned out to be even stronger and more dangerous than he initially thought, as no normal being could face that Golden Dragon for several minutes and continue fighting, creating shock waves that shook the entire planet while fighting.

Moreover, as he got closer to the surface, Super Skrull felt like the shock waves were getting stronger, which did not bode very well for him.

Fortunately, Super Skrull finally managed to reach the surface, and he headed straight for their spaceship, not intending on staying one more second on this god forsaken planet.

However, the moment he reached their spaceship, Super Skrull's Danger Sense activated, and warned him of an imminent danger as he immediately curved his trajectory to fly away.

The next moment, the spaceship they came in blew up into a great explosion as Super Skrull was sent flying.

Quickly changing into his Thing form to mitigate the damage, Super Skrull crashed into a building before finally stopping.

Warping himself with Susan's power to become invisible, Super Skrull looked around, and noticed strange forms in the sky. Gathering the power to his eyes, the spectrum of light revealed itself to him as Super Skrull finally spotted those who attacked him, and unfortunately, they were the ones he had been fleeing from.

The Kree Empire.

The Skrulls and the Kree had pretty much always been at war with each other, and Super Skrull had been sent on a dangerous mission by the Emperor because of his failure on Earth to kill the Fantastic Four.

In the end, he did manage to finish his mission, but it had dealt a rather heavy hit to the Kree Empire, and so they had sent their guard dog, Ronan the Accuser, after him.

Supreme Accuser and leader of the law force of the Kree Empire, Ronan was not only a fearsome threat by himself, he also led a terrifying armada of spaceships capable of destroying a planet.

Among those ships, the most terrifying one, the Black Star, a spaceship made of extremely sturdy materials that could deal with most spaceships.

Super Skrull clenched his fist as he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. In the sky was a force capable of destroying a planet, while underground were two behemoths fighting, probably destroying the planet as they did so too.

Fortunately, after their failed attempt at killing him with their bomb, the Kree did not attack him, and instead Ronan established a connection with his device.

Accepting it to gain some time, Super Skrull saw Ronan appear before him, and say, "You are surrounded, Skrull, and your only mean of escape has been destroyed. Surrender and be trialled by the Kree Law, or perish like the insect you are!"

Super Skrull scoffed at those words, he knew of Ronan's reputation, and that it was impossible the later would let him live if he surrendered. As soon as he did so, he would be killed by Ronan, he would probably smash his head open with that hammer of his that madman.

Still, he had to earn himself some time, he wasn't sure for what, but it was better than dying, so he asked, "How can I be sure you won't kill me?"

Ronan snorted in response, "I can also blow up this planet and kill you, but you aren't worth the price of the ammunition."

Super Skrull rolled his eyes at that, Ronan probably didn't even know this planet was infested with Bloody Parasites, yet he wouldn't hesitate to blow it up just to kill him.

But as he said, it wasn't worth the price. Although his armada was said to be capable of destroying a planet, he would have to pay quite a heavy cost to do so. Generally, this would only happen in a war, to destroy an important camp of the enemy.

Ronan was about to say something, when he started to frown. At the same time, Super Skrull felt the shock waves coming from the ground increase, and his eyes widened in shock once again as he understood what was happening.

Ronan lost his composure as he didn't even bother to shut off the connection with Super Skrull before ordering to all of his men, "Fire everything at the ground!"

It was quite the scene to see all the ships from the armada shoot at the same spot, seemingly fully intent on destroying the planet.

However, merely a couple of seconds after the barrage started, a golden glint seemed to appear in the smoke as the sound of an ever greater explosion came from the ground, and with it a minuscule figure flew up into the sky, his body bloody but regenerating on the spot.

Following him, was the largest being all those present had even seen as the Kree soldiers discovered for the first time in their lives a being of such proportions.

The Golden Dragon did not seem to care about the spaceships though as it chased after Edward, doing it's best to kill him.

As for Edward, he saw the space ships surrounding them, and didn't hesitate to teleport to them. This time, the Golden Dragon did not have any trouble to follow him as it crashed into the ships with it's humongous size, and the Golden Dragon did not meet any resistance on the way as it crushed those ships with ease.

The two moved so fast that before Ronan could even give the order to stop shooting and flee away, the majority of the armada had already been turned into scrap metal, blood floating into space.

Ronan finally called for a retreat, but the Black Star was far from fast enough to escape, and entering warp speed took time.

Before it could even leave Markar's orbit, Edward appeared next to the Black Star, and the Golden Dragon quickly followed him to smash into the battle ship.

It was by far the scariest experience the soldiers inside the ship ever went through as they saw a thousands of kilometers long dragon riddled with injuries smash into their ship.

Fortunately for them, the Black Star deserved it's reputation as unlike the rest of the armada, it wasn't destroyed by the blow, nor did it seem too damaged as it was simply sent flying farther away.

However, before anyone inside the Black Star could get back on their feet after being sent flying by the impact of the Golden Dragon's smash, Edward teleported inside the ship, into the command room.

Ronan, who had gotten back up faster than the others, did not recognize Edward, he hadn't even seen him fly out of the planet, and thought the Golden Dragon was simply targeting his armada for getting in it's territory.

So seeing this unknown man into his ship, Ronan pointed his hammer at Edward and demanded, "Surrender, or suffer my wrath!"

Edward sent a glance at the Kree, barely giving him a moment of attention before turning his head to look at the rapidly nearing Golden Dragon.

Seeing this, Ronan was enraged as he took a step forward and prepared to smash his hammer down toward Edward, despite the distance.

However, before he could fully execute his move, he felt a crushing force hit him in the chest as he was sent flying backwards, his chest caved in. His battle armor crumbled into bits as Ronan coughed out a mouthful of blood as he slammed into the ground.

This somewhat surprised Edward, the Kree didn't matter much to him, but the fact he survived showed the strength of his armor. Although it had been destroyed, it still had saved his life, despite how weak he was.

Seeing the fallen Kree was still not dead, Edward didn't bother killing him as something else would do it for him.

Apparently, the Queen Parasite had understood that smashing into the ship wouldn't work, so what it did was to instead coil around it, and exert strength.

With it's size, it could barely make a single coil around it, but this was enough to exert enough strength to crush the ship.

The Kree in the ship panicked, while Edward looked on with a smile. As the Golden Dragon exerted all of it's strength, the Black Star was shredded into pieces, leaving everyone inside who hadn't been crushed to death to float into space.

Edward looked at the Golden Dragon, who looked fully intent on smashing into him, and did not move as something on the dragon's back glowed bright and brighter.

The array Edward had inscribed in the cave had been stuck on the Golden Dragon's back since some time now, and it was finally strong enough.

The Golden Dragon opened it's mouth, and as they were back into Markar's atmosphere, a loud cry erupted as they produced a wind so strong the city below looked like it would be swept over.

But quickly, the cry stopped as the Golden Dragon gradually came to a stop, all trace of life disappearing from it's eyes. At the same time, a giant dead parasite was forcefully pulled out of it's body.

Edward extended his hand toward the two corpses, and with a gripping motion the two of them were pulled over toward him.

Then, his hand, still in a grip motion, turned into a counter clockwise way, and the array on the Golden Dragon's back lit up once again.

Two illusory beings exited the formation and were forced back into the two beings as they regained life!

That, was the third reason why Edward did not care whether he killed them or not. He could resurrect them!
