Chapter 115: One year down -111

[Eight weeks after Tony's kidnapping]

[SITE-001]

On the last day of the month, the very last possible day to perform the summoning without getting penalized, Alex made his way to the massively secret and secure SITE-001, which served as the headquarters of the Foundation leadership.

From here, the O5 Council would make the hard decisions that would affect millions, if not billions, of people. Before, they would hear the complaints of the Ethics Committee, which would be ignored.

Alex hadn't been here before; normally, he would just stay back in his mansion. Rather than go here, where he wasn't the absolute top dog. Maybe if he had started out with this place unlocked, he would have considered making it his HQ.

But since it wasn't and there still wasn't much of the O5 around, he really didn't have much of a reason to go here. That was until today when he was doing something that could potentially summon a multitude of SCP objects.

Not to mention that the damn Black Cat who broke into his mansion was still on the loose, which was beyond amazing in itself. The fact that she could hide from the full might of the current Foundation was nothing short of amazing.

He wasn't afraid of her coming back; even if she was foolish enough to do that, he wasn't scared that she could truly harm him. Sure, she might bring a gun, but she didn't seem the type, and with his suit, it would only take a moment for him to be unafraid of bullets.

Still, he didn't want to be there for this. He was sure that whatever was about to happen wouldn't be minor, so given that he had access to this place, he might as well use it.

"I want you and the entire SITE on high alert; don't lower it unless you get that order from me personally," Alexander said before entering his personal office.

Alexander then activated all the security measures, including a reality anchor. "Alright then, System, please do the monthly summon."

[Ding! Host's SCP locater tool is undergoing an upgrade; once complete, it will show the real-time location of ALL SCP objects in the world; until the update is completed, the tool will be unavailable!]

"Well, it has been pretty useless so far, so getting an upgrade would be helpful. Even more, since there are a few ones out there, I really want to be found as soon as possible." Alex whispered as he read that particular notice.

It would be annoying if he wasn't able to use the tool to check these new objects, as he might have been lucky and gotten their locations. But it wasn't the biggest loss since it was generally so damn useless.

[Ding! Since the Host has been in the new universe for a whole year while maintaining the ability to summon SCP objects and keeping them a secret, the Host has unlocked a new feature!]

[Ding! Host a new feature is available! The Host can now also summon a random Group of Interest in exchange for system points!]

[Ding! As a reward for unlocking the new feature, a random Group of Interest will be summoned for free!]

[Ding! The Group of Interest, Marchall, Charter and Dark Ltd. Has appeared in the Marvel Universe!]

[Ding! Warning! Host a SCP has appeared in the world and is outside Foundation control! Host is asked to deal with the situation and follow the Foundation's goal of Securing, containing, and Protecting!]

[Ding! Host has additionally been given SCP object-99999!]

When the barrage of pings finally came to an end, Alex released a breath he didn't know he was holding.

'Overall, it could have been worse.' He mused as only two extra SCPs had been summoned, or maybe there were more than that…

After all, right after Marchall, Charter and Dark Ltd. Another message mentioning a new SCP appeared.

"Hey, System, explain the Group of Interest Marchall, Charter, and Dark Ltd, and why you mentioned a new SCP after that." He asked, hoping to remove his doubts; after all, for someone in his position, ignorance was dangerous.

[Ding! Yes Host. The Group of interest Marchall, Charter and Dark Ltd. It is an auction house that sells anomalies objects. Furthermore, their presence in the new universe will cause one additional SCP object to be summoned each month, for free!]

Of all the possible Groups of interest, this one was properly one of the least dangerous one. However, Alex did notice that the groups brought more than just themselves into the universe. He even suspected and feared that other groups might directly bring SCP objects they related to.

This could be really dangerous as some of those Groups were connected to some really bad XK scenario-triggering objects, like the Scarlet King.

So, it could have been a lot worse than this particular group. Even if in the long run, this one would probably cause a lot of trouble just merely by its ability to effectively double the amount of SCP objects he would have to deal with every mouth.

"The rest of the things aren't bad, just annoying," he mused as he closed his eyes and focused on the new memories; he felt unlocked during the process.

The O5 Council got its name from being the council of the five overseers of the Foundation when it first started out. The original five had been around since the very start. It was those first five who built the Foundation into what it is today.

The same five later decided to open up more spots to lessen the burden on each of them. They also attempted to place people loyal to them there and give them a vote, further increasing their power.

Alex was naturally a part of the old five, and it was that group that had appeared now. Allowing for the Foundation to grow in strength. Even if Alexander himself lost a great amount of his power, after all, now he no longer held the tiebreaking vote.

The Ethics Committee was far less of a problem. While it should, on paper, have the ability to hold O5 to its standards and police it, in reality, the committee was under the firm hand of O5-5 and had no ability to affect the will of the Council.

Though they could help with dealing with certain problems or be a fall-guy should the Council need to justify themselves, they could just shift the blame.

"Now, let's see about the objects themselves before the meeting. There will no doubt be held in a bit." He whispered as she just knew that the others would want to have a meeting about everything that had happened.

First was SCO-1618, The Gilded Urinal, which was a Safe class object. It did have the ability to disrupt the area around it pretty badly, but not dangerously, so a dose of amnestics would be enough to keep things a secret.

The good thing about the object was the usefulness of its effect. The urinal would turn filth and waste into money and gold, while turning things of value into human filth and waste. So, while highly disgusting, it was a limitless source of wealth as long as someone happened to have free forced labor and plenty of human waste to turn into gold.

So for someone like him, who was in charge of a place with those things he definitely wanted that object in his own private collection. Even though O5-3, being the head of Foundation finance, would likely want it as well.

So the first clash of O5 members wasn't far off now.

SCP-427, The Lovecraftian Locket, was another safe class object; in fact, it was a rare useful healing type object. It could cure diseases and heal wounds. It could even optimize the body, increasing resistance to disease and toxins, and even further, it could enhance the Muscular systems, increasing strength and pain tolerance by as much as 200%-300%!

However, it wasn't without risk; if someone was exposed to the lockets effect for more than one hour, they would mutate into instances of SCP-427-1, or Flesh Beasts as they were also called. Becoming mindless monsters who had to be killed immediately as while 427 itself was safe, 427-1 were Keter.

The final SCP object was just Euclid, but it still was happy to make Alex stand up in shock as he realized what object he had just summoned.

"Old Man Sun!" He exclaimed loudly.

"This is bad, really really bad!" He continued to curse.

SCP-499 is an old man and his ball. It might sound like the lead-up to some bad joke. But it was so dangerous that it could cause an XK-class end-of-the-world scenario if one were careless. The ball the old man kept pushing around wasn't just any old stone.

It was the sun itself! The old man pushed the stone in a circle every day, and in doing so, he moved the sun in the sky. Without the old man, there would be no such thing as a day and night circle.

The problem was that the old man was really old and in no way immortal or immune to injury or getting sick. Yet if he were to ever stop, it could have truly catastrophic consequences. In the original SCP universe, the Foundation had accidentally killed his entire family, including his son, who would take over his role of moving the stone around.

It was impossible for anyone but the old man and possibly his son to move the stone, so it was of the utmost importance that they weren't hurt this time. The problem being that if someone else found them first, they might react like the Foundation had done and use force.

"Finding and protecting them is going to be a top priority from now on." Alex swore under his breath as he started to already feel a headache coming his way, and he hadn't even started the meeting with the others yet!

Then there was the mysterious SCP summoned thanks to Marchall, Chater and Dark, he didn't even know which one that was! Which was a huge problem, as the fucking scarlet king could be out there right now and he wouldn't even know about it.

Yet before he had a chance to try and deal with the new situation, he was indeed notified about a council meeting and that he was expected to be there.

He knew that as the person who had been in this world the longest, he was expected to come up with answers. "Might as well push some of my work onto them, free myself up for more entertaining endovenous" He mumbled as he made his way to the council room, the beating heart of the facility and perhaps the most protected place in the entire world.

Though not before stuffing SCP-99999 inside his breast pocket, hiding it away from sight as he activated his Vibranium suit again.
