Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Part of the crew
Shepard pov
What the heck was that? I thought we were going to be in a fight for our lives. Then a snap and the scientist just fall over. With barely any biotic power he just killed him. As I0 turns to look at us with predatory grace. I prepare for a fight not knowing if he will go insane from what they have done to him.
I ask him "Are you an enemy or not."
"That totally depends on you. Do you plan on experimenting on me too or locking me up?" He responds calmly.
Thinking for a bit I start to wonder if he could help us with Saren and the Reapers. "I Don't plan on doing anything to tell you the truth. We were not expecting anyone to not be an enemy here let alone someone that survived. What do you plan on doing now?"
I0 Pov
As I let that question hang in the air I remember what I asked for in the void but do I really want to help them for free? A few minutes pass with me pondering what to do I hear the rustling of weapons as Wrex readjusts his shotgun for a better grip.
"Sorry about that I was thinking about what to do now that I am free. Have not really thought about it before. Probably wandering the universe looking for things to do maybe even undoing some of the Evil Cerberus has done. Why?" I reply with a thoughtful expression.
"Well, it's just that we are on a mission to stop Saren and ultimately the Reapers from destroying us all. I am building a crew and I think you can be of some help." She answers.
"Maybe I have some 3 conditions if they are followed then I don't mind helping out," I answered.
"What are they? If they are reasonable then I don't see why not." She asked.
"They are that there were no survivors here I0 is dead I don't want to be hunted down for my unique gifts I will be needing an ID. I can leave whenever I feel like we are no longer doing the right thing. Last but not least I wish to be paid as you can tell I don't have much." I say will pointing at my general lack of clothing except for underwear.
"That can be arranged but you will need to be checked out by our doctor so she will know about you if that ok. what are we to call you also is there anything you can wear around here?" she asks will just notice.
"Well I will think of a name will I suit up and is it ok for the doctor to know as well? I believe that had some equipment for me over here," I state as I walk to the hidden compartment. As I put on the Predator armor I grab the widow sniper adding to my back with a revenant assault rifle. On my belt, I add the claymore shotgun and an Asari sword. The Asari sword looked like a black katana with a dark red grain in it. The armor was a back camo with a dark orange/yellow glow for the eyes. As I was getting dressed I could hear them communicating out there. Talking about if they can trust me if this was a Cerberus polt. As I took the Omni-tool they custom-built for me I as walk out of the communication when silent.
"So I decided to be called Warden from now on. So are we leaving or is there something else you need to do here?" I asked
"Gerrus download the data a wipe the computers let's get out of here," Shepard states turning to Garrus. "It's good that you don't have any Cerberus logos on that would make things interesting when we get back to the ship. We will still need to check the equipment for bugs though."
"That will be fine as long as I can help. Who knows what sort of surprises they have in here." I respond leaving the room.
As we were leaving for the ship I was rigging the facility to explode covering my escape. Hopefully, this keeps Cerberus off my back for a while.
"Joker can you tell Kaidan to come to the airlock we have some weapons he needs to clear. Also, tell the crew we have a new member." Shepard tells the comlink.
"Now let's get you introduced to everyone. The pilot over there is Jeff who goes by Joker security officer Kaidan who will be here any second. You know Garus and Wrex." She states Pointing to each of them.
As Kaidan walks up he asks, "So where are the weapons that need checking."
"Here there is a sniper, a shotgun, an assault rifle, and an Asari blade," I state as give them to him in order.
Kaidan is a human male of about 6' military build. He feels like he is in constant pain and his bionic fluctuate in a chaotic mater. I wonder if I can send him calming emotions if that helps but I will try later rather than not harm him the first time seeing him. As we go through the ship to the back Shepard introduces the background crew pointing them out. We get to the elevator to go to the 2nd level to get to the med bay to get me checked out.
"This is Doctor Chakwas she is the Medic on board," Shepard stated giving her the info on me from the facility.
As Shepard leaves Chakwas tells. "OK well take the armor off and let me get a look at you just put the armor over there. You can take a set there when you are done."
As I was taking off my armor I can see her reading my profile and her emotions when from bored to excited to angry from what she was reading. Though her facial expressions did not change in the least bit.
"Well let me take some of your blood and take a scan of you. Lay down this won't hurt a bit." She tells as she gets a Krogan needle and a human one.
She stabs me in the arm with the human one and it bends on contact.
"Waste of a perfectly good needle what bout this one," she mumbles under her breath as she uses the Krogan needle.
As the needle stabs into my arm the syringe fills up with a gray color of blood but as soon as she pulls the needle out the blood drops on my arm turn red.
"Well, that is interesting never seen this before," she states looking at the blood. "Let's get that scan going so I can see what is happening in there."
laying down I start to feel small energy scanning me from top to bottom and back to top again.
