Chapter 309: Chapter 309: Hermione Granger's great victory (Edited)

As soon as Fish sat down at the Great Dining Room table, a plate of steamed buns and a bowl of chicken soup appeared in front of him... It was obvious that Comey had prepared them especially for him.

"Yahoo!"

?(●≧?≦●)?

The little cat cheered, first picked up the chicken soup, swallowed a big gulp, then ate a bun with each hand and ate it from left to right.

The others were not surprised by Fish's special treat, they just looked at him for a moment and went back to talking about Dementors in hushed tones.

They had been talking about it since they got off the train, but now the discussion had gotten bigger.

Fish, who was eating, twitched his ears, not really interested in the topic, and continued to munch on his scone.

As more and more students arrived in the Great Dining Hall, some people who were in the same carriage as Fish, or even in the carriage next to him, ended up mentioning the sudden sound of a tiger roar as the Dementors boarded the train.

"I know this!"

Ron jumped up excitedly and began rambling on about what had happened in his compartment, with Neville and Harry adding their voices to the mix.

The news spread quickly from the long Gryffindor table to the surrounding area, and before long even the professors knew about it, and shot Fish looks of astonishment....

Dumbledore was still smiling, he and Professor McGonagall had already heard about it from the owl Lupin had sent, and besides....

It wasn't like he hadn't seen Fish turn into another animal before, though it was a leopard and not a tiger.

Why not a lion?

Dumbledore, also a Gryffindor, wailed ruefully.

"Nya?"

The cat, who was eating happily, noticed the stares around him and looked up in confusion.

Fish was used to a group of people staring at him, but today there was something odd about the way they were looking at him.

Of course, Fish had a good idea of the reason for the strange looks, after all, those cat ears on his head weren't just for show.

So the little cat cocked his head to one side, stood up and shouted to the others, "Fish doesn't remember how to become a tiger, but I can become another kind of big cat, I'll show you nya!".

With that, everyone saw Fish leap over the table and turn into a meter-long cloud-spotted leopard, landing on the long Gryffindor table.

Fish circled around the table twice so everyone could see what he looked like now, then sat down, lifted his paws, which were considerably larger in proportion, and shook them twice.

"Roarrr!"

(=`▽′=)?

After finishing this, he jumped off the long table, turned back into a cat-man, and continued to gnaw on the chicken bones.

The crowd gasped, and then kept talking, excited that Fish could turn into other animals, but only because they thought it was a special talent of the natural Animagus, and couldn't help but feel envious at the same time.

There were some knowledgeable teachers who had their doubts, but when they thought it was Fish, they thought it was no big deal....

Not that it's a bad thing to turn into a leopard or tiger, there are many Animagus that can also turn into beasts.

And even if he did turn into a leopard, wouldn't Fish still be pretty cute?

While everyone was talking, Professor Flitwick walked in with the new students.

As the ceremony was about to begin, everyone quieted down and looked at the group of new students looking nervous, just like when they started, and no one had told this year's students what to expect....

Especially since they had a Dementor this year, their fears had doubled.

Pranksters like George and Fred, even managed to make the freshmen even more nervous by putting on a grim face they couldn't stand.

In the blink of an eye, Professor Flitwick brought out the Sorting Hat and the low stool on which it was perched.... Unlike the four-legged stool Fish and the others had used, this one had three legs.

Amidst the indescribable chanting of the Sorting Hat, the nervous first-year students breathed a sigh of relief, and some young wizards even shot murderous glances at their unscrupulous brothers or sisters.

There wasn't much to say about the sorting process, each House had added a few new students, and halfway through the sorting ceremony, Professor McGonagall and Hermione returned to the Great Dining Hall.

"Hermione, over here nya."

?(●ΦωΦ●)?

Fish saw them first and motioned Hermione over to him.

Hermione's cheeks flushed as she ran to sit next to Fish, despite the surprised looks from Professor McGonagall and the other girls.

On the way to school, the smart girl had realized that, although Fish didn't remember what had happened to his since he had become a tiger, he had grown closer to her.

With this in mind, Hermione lifted her chin in triumph and looked at the other girls with a victorious superiority that made a group of young witches who had thoughts about Fish hate her.

Soon the ceremony was over and Dumbledore rose from his seat to begin his usual speech.

He repeatedly emphasized the danger of Dementors to the crowd, and kept looking at Fish, Harry, and the Weasley twins with narrowed eyes.

The kitten grimaced, even though he had fought off the Dementors, it was a shame he couldn't be happy, he didn't want to mess with the cat's displeasure.

Next, Dumbledore introduced the two new teachers for this year.

The first was Remus Lupin, the annual Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, but Fish had already seen him on the train and wasn't surprised, and he didn't look very familiar, so applause was sparse and no one knew much about him.

"Look at Snape!"

Ron and Harry whispered between them, Fish twitched his cat ears and looked at Snape at the long table of professors with them.

Ron whispered to Harry, and Fisch wiggled his cat ears and joined them in looking at Snape at the teachers' table.

Hmm... The expression on Snape's face was still very familiar to Fish, he had a similar expression when he looked at Harry.

Then Fish suddenly remembered what Snape had said when he had met him in Knockturn Alley the night before: there was a new annoying person at school this year.

(●?ω?●)?

The kitten rubbed the back of his neck in confusion...

Could it be that Severus could also detect that strange aura in Lupin?

But his thoughts were soon interrupted by a sudden round of applause as Dumbledore introduced the second new teacher, Rubeus Hagrid, who was replacing his wooden-legged grandfather, Silvanus Kettleburn, as the Care of Magical Creatures class teacher.

Compared to the surprised Harry and the others around him, Fish looked very calm.

His current position had been decided over the summer, following the discovery of the Chamber of Secrets and Voldemort's diary last term, which had cleared Hagrid of any wrongdoing for which he had been expelled.

As soon as he got the news, Hagrid went to Hogsmeade and found Fish, hugging him and thanking him with tears and laughter, so the kitten already knew.

"Okay, that's all important, let's have a feast!"

With Dumbledore's words, a large amount of food and drink appeared in front of everyone, who reached out, put the food on their plates and gobbled it down quickly ...

The Dementors had delayed the feast longer than usual, and they were already hungry.

But Fish, who had already had a small meal, left his seat and ran to Professor McGonagall's side.
