Chapter 310: Chapter 310: The kitten problem (Edited)

"Minerva~"

?●ω●?

Fish rushed over, wrapped his arms around Professor McGonagall and then rubbed gently against her shoulder.

"You little rascal," smiled Professor McGonagall, reaching out to pinch his cheek, teasing him, "You secretly learned how to turn into a tiger, do you want to challenge me again?"

Lupin's impromptu letter was not very clear, and when the students' discussion reached the teachers' table, it was just the general information that "Fish turned into a white tiger and fought the Dementors."

Also, when Fish used the Multijuice Potion to try to transform into other cats during the summer vacations, he didn't hide it from Professor McGonagall, so she thought it was Fish who didn't know when he had succeeded and was trying to scare her....

After all, Fish had a history of this sort of thing.

"No nya! Fish doesn't even remember what happened, it's like the last time it rained."

?(●`ε′●)?

Fish pouted, grumbling.

"I was just about to tell you, Professor McGonagall."

Lupin, his face pale, leaned over and said earnestly, "Fish's situation is a bit like... a werewolf... At that point, he had almost lost his mind." He touched his chest and said with a wry smile, "He almost slapped me to death..."

"Hmph, that's really too bad."

Snape, who had been leaning over at one point, grunted ruefully, then looked at Fish....

The more he looked at him, the more he liked him.

Lupin looked at Snape blankly, ignoring him; given their relationship, it was not unusual for Snape to act in such a manner.

Professor McGonagall, for her part, nervously gripped Fish's arms, anxiously asking him if he felt any discomfort or if anything was wrong.

"Ahem, don't worry, Professor McGonagall, Fish's situation is still different from that of a werewolf..."

It was the first time Lupin had seen Professor McGonagall so nervous, knowing that she had remained calm and collected during the fight against Voldemort in the Order of the Phoenix.

He then told Professor McGonagall in detail what had happened on the train, and what Harry and the others had described after fainting.

"So that's what happened," Dumbledore, who had already approached, stroked his beard, "It seems Fish was just scared, and then your spell provoked him, Remus, and that's why he attacked you, if I had left him alone, maybe he would have calmed down after letting off some steam."

"Fish wasn't afraid, I even beat the dementor nya!"

?(●`Д′●)?

At Dumbledore's comment, the kitten immediately snapped to attention.

"Yes, yes, it was Grandfather Albus who was wrong," said Dumbledore with an immediate smile.

Dumbledore's habit of referring to Fish as grandfather had been added after he took him to meet Newt.

The mean old man was trying to get the kitten used to calling him grandfather in this subtle way.

It was the first time Lupin had ever seen Dumbledore like this....

In fact, Lupin also noticed that Snape had been silently watching Fish, with a gleam of affection in his eyes, a Snape who would only have looked at Lily Evans like this....

Even Lupin didn't think Lily would have recognized him.

Snape had never been good at showing his emotions, and he'd fallen out with Lily right afterward, and had been too young to apologize to her, so it was a bit of a long shot.

Even though he'd known for some time that Fish was special and had experienced the cat's strong affinity, Lupin was still surprised by the scene, after all, the three of them tended to be calmer and more stable... or so he thought.

Shaking his head to push these thoughts away, Lupin explained with a bitter smile, "I couldn't let myself think about it, and you should know I couldn't take any chances with that situation."

"Well, that's true..."

Dumbledore nodded, any wizard who knew anything about werewolves would have made the same decision as Lupin, let alone a real werewolf.

Besides, he was doing it to protect the other students, let's just say....

"Let's just say, Remus, you've had a bit of bad luck."

The headmaster shrugged and dismissed the matter with a "bad luck" excuse.

What else was there to do? what else could he do? hold Fish responsible for hurting the professor and locking up the cat?

Lupin knew there was no way into that, and since Fish had saved his own life, he was, as Dumbledore had said, on his own.

However, Professor McGonagall's attention was focused on Hermione Granger, who had managed to stop Fish.

Whether it was her bravery in standing up at that moment, or the fact that Fish had actually calmed down thanks to her, or the fact that the family cat had treated Hermione differently since her arrival at the school, Professor McGonagall had taken the young girl seriously.

Besides, Professor McGonagall already appreciated Hermione as a good student, and Fish had even said she looked a lot like her!

She looked at Hermione at the Gryffindor table, surrounded by girls asking questions, and a smirk appeared on the old mother's face.

At first, Professor McGonagall thought Hermione was good, but now she looks more and more pleasing to the eye.

I think I'll have to pay more attention to Hermione from now on!

Turning her eyes away from Hermione, Professor McGonagall held back her smile for a moment, tugged gently on Fish's cat ears and warned, "I know you won't be able to resist trying to become a tiger, but make sure you find a place where no one is around, or warn me and Dumbledore first, do you hear me?"

Professor McGonagall understood that it was obviously unrealistic to stop Fish from turning into a tiger, he had tried before he was sure he could do it, and now that he had succeeded, he was even less likely to give up, so she could only take precautions.

"Got it nya, Professor Lupin warned Fish too."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Lupin had warned his before, and now that Professor McGonagall solemnly emphasized it again, it was impossible for Fish not to take it seriously, since the kitten handled herself well in such matters.

To reassure Professor McGonagall, he offered his plans.

"I'm going to have Fluffy and Uroboros around to help me keep an eye on nya, but unfortunately Kanaloa can't get out of the water, so I can't take her with me, and Fawkes, he can help too!"

"Well, that's good."

Professor McGonagall patted her head, relieved, seeing that Fish had already made up his mind.

Once informed, the professors went their separate ways, while Fish stayed with Professor McGonagall and had dinner with her.

"Fish, why did you call Hermione to sit with you just now?"

After filling her stomach for a while, Professor McGonagall continued to savor the food slowly, while tasting the kitten's thoughts.

"Nya?"

?ω?

The cat blinked and scratched its head in confusion.

"Fish doesn't know nya either..."

He shook his head, as if he had just realized his change in attitude.

"Fish just feels comfortable around Hermione nya, and doesn't think much of it."

The kitten, confused and unable to come up with a response, simply said what he felt.

Then Professor McGonagall suddenly became a little unhappy....

"So would Fish rather be near me, or would he rather be near Granger?"

"Of course it's Minerva nya!"

?●ω●?

Fish answered without the slightest hesitation, which instantly made Professor McGonagall smile.

Well... Hermione and Fish, let's take it easy for a while....

There was no need to rush with the cat, who still didn't know how he felt.

Professor McGonagall gave Fish's head a couple of kisses and changed her mind again.
