Chapter 142: The Plan Backfired

Islinda gave up holding a conversation with Aldric. Talking with him was taking a huge toll on her mental health. He was driving her crazy! 

Shaking her head in disappointment, Islinda was about to turn the other way when he reached out and grabbed her hand. Islinda attempted to pull away but he tightened his grip, threatening to pull her out of her seat if she struggled further. Hence, she let him be. 

"I'll answer you." He said, still holding onto her hand and bringing it to rest on the seat's arm while she gave him a wary look. 

Aldric told her, "The wine distracts me." 

"A lot of things distract you." Islinda retorted, hinting at the obvious. 

Aldric chuckled, the sound of his rich laughter sending shivers down her spine. She would love it if he laughed often, but it did weird things to her body, so no. No laughter.
