Chapter 1: Chapter 1
Natsu's POV
It was just a normal night, a normal night which I couldn't sleep with just the thoughts that were rushing in my mind. This was so frustrating, I haven't been able to get Lucy out of my head.
It has been like this for over a month now, no matter what I did it just ended up reminding me of her, of things I didn't noticed before. Like the way she talks, how her cheeks had a light pink tint on them every time she talked about something she liked, it was just everything that she did that affected him this much. That's it. I have to do something about this .
I grabbed my scarf and got out of my bed before heading out I grabbed my keys careful to not wake Happy up. It was pretty cold so I soon wrapped the scarf around my neck hiding my chin in it. Lucy's place was only a few blocks away from me so it was a quick walk to her place. As always her window was slightly open and I could see that her lights were on so she wasn't asleep yet.
I jumped up to her window and opened it letting the cold breeze enter the rather warm room, Lucy was sitting on her desk and I assume she was working on her novel from how concentrated she was not even noticing my presence until I wrapped my arms around her waist and nuzzled her neck. I could feel her body tense up then relax as she noticed that it was me the one embracing her.
"Now now , what's up with this at this hour Natsu" Her voice being just the softest melody my ears could have heard today. I just lazily managed to say.
"I just missed you today. Didn't get the chance to see you.." As much as I wanted to keep hugging her I didn't want to be too obvious so I let go of her reluctantly.
"Is that so?" She raised her eyebrow and directed her gaze at me. A smile appeared on my face as I started to lay on her bed.
"Yeah very much.. I've been wanting to ask you this for a pretty long time now.. Well not ask more like tell you some things." I started to doubt if it was the right idea to tell her. I mean if she didn't feel the same it would ruin everything but I just couldn't keep it in any longer, her bright light brown eyes stared at me as if waiting for me to tell her. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. I tried but the words would not leave my mouth. I hated to admit it but when it came to that I was a coward.
"What is it? You seem pretty bothered by it." She asked softly as she leaned forward as if getting closer to where I was sitting. I fidgeted with my fingers and came up with other topic to avoid it.
"I have been having bad dreams so I wanted to ask if I could sleepover here for some time." I'm such an idiot. I should've said the truth.. but no. Now's not the right time.
"Ahh that was all? I mean you and Happy always end up sleeping over here without even asking hahah, but yeah.. of course you can" She said making both of us to laugh. Atleast this lie would allow me to sleep close to her. Mira was right. I keep avoiding the truth but I've fell in love with Lucy. But now it was just not the right time.
Lucy's POV
"Yeah very much.. I've been wanting to ask you this for a pretty long time now.. Well not ask more like tell you some things." Wait was he going to say what I've been thinking? I was starting to feel nervous yet tried to still fake calmness around him.
"What is it? You seem pretty bothered by it." Is it really what I think though? Natsu has always been affectionate to me yet he hasn't told me that he has any feelings like that. If I had to be honest I did have feelings like that for him. Ever since I met him he has had a special place in my heart. Soon his words snapped me back to reality.
"I have been having bad dreams so I wanted to ask if I could sleepover here for some time." I couldn't help but feel disappointed. This was not what I expected at all. Since when has he asked me if he could spend the night here..
"Ahh that was all? I mean you and Happy always end up sleeping over here without even asking hahah, but yeah.. of course you can" Of course I wanted this to be a complete different talk but at least I got to sleep next to him.
"Talking about sleeping.. tomorrow we have a mission right? We should get some sleep its pretty late." I got up from my chair and made my way to the bed. Kicking my slippers off as I crawled on the empty space on the bed. As i heard a quiet 'right' from Natsu
"Natsu since you're on the edge you got to turn the lights, I don't make the rules!" I hid under the blanket hearing the pink haired whining made me giggle. I heard a few footsteps before the clicking sound of the lamp . I waited until I felt two strong arms around me, I pulled the blanket off my head only to find his half closed brown eyes staring down at me.
"Goodnight.." I said before nuzzling his chest.
"Night Luce" Without a doubt I love this man and I was going to find a way to confess to him with maybe a little help.
