Chapter 22: Chapter 22 Please, I beg of you
After five hours, Luna landed in Blue City and as usual hailed a cab and gave the man Graham's address. She remembered that her phone was off and she switched it on only to find several messages and missed calls from Bella. She immediately called her and Bella asked," Luna! How are you? D-did you find out?" "Find out? What are you talking about?" asked Luna confused. "You haven't known yet? It's Graham. He has been involved in an accident," said Bella. "W-what?A-acident?W-when?" she stuttered as tears began falling from her eyes. "Just some moment ago. It's every where Luna. What are you going to do now?" Luna couldn't believe it and she said,"I have to see him. Where's he?" Luna now understood why she suddenly started feeling uneasy in the plane. It was because of this. "That he's been taken to Cullen hospital. But will they let you see him? It's so chaotic. His fans and press are flooding the streets of the hospital. Some are even fainting. Why don't you come back and return when everything is stable?" asked Bella. "No I can't. I won't leave unless I see him," she declared.
On reaching the hospital, it was flooded by people. His fans and the press were everywhere. She walked amongst them and stood on the metallic gate and she realized the heavy security deployed in the hospital grounds. She had decided that she was staying here until she saw him at least.
She heard her fan who was standing near her sniffing as she said," I think our idol is already dead. Did any of you see the situation he was in when they pulled him out of the car?" Luna snapped and looked her direction and asked," Which video?" " You haven't seen it?" she asked and Luna shook her head. "It's everywhere. Let me show it to you." Luna saw the video of how his car summersaulted and got disfigured and she flinched. She saw his lifeless body being pulled out and how terrible he looked. By the end of the video, she had no strength left and she sat down on the floor crying as much as she could.
Inside the hospital, the doctor came out the second time. By this time, Abigail and her father had gained conciousness. The doctor said," We tried our best and finally he's out of danger but, he went into comma and we don't know when he will be able to wake up. It could take days, months or years." On one side the Cullens were relieved that he was alive but on the other, they were worried about the outcome. He was then transferred to a room where he was connected to many machines to support his life. The Cullens couldn't believe this. For all the years he had raced, this has never happened. Rebecca turned to Raphael and shouted," I told you. This is all your fault. You always let them do what they want. Since the beginning I've been against this. But you've always been calling me a nagging wife and mother. Are you happy now seeing your son in this condition?" Raphael couldn't say anything. Abigail tried defending him saying," Mother he's equally- "Don't you dare say anything Abigail because you're equally guilty. Always supporting your brother in his stupid career. Now I think you're satisfied. I'm taking care of my son the moment he wakes up and he will be living by my rules."
Vikram went outside the hospital to finally talk to the press and Graham's fans. He reached the gate and saw a familiar figure sitting on the floor and he immediately recognized her but this was not the time for this. The press immediately swam around him and began firing questions at him asking about Graham's condition. Luna saw him and she stood up staring at him expectantly. He said," Graham Cullen is out of danger now even though he has gone in comma. We don't know about when he will be waking up unfortunately. But in case of anything we shall communicate. We thank you all for your love and support and we ask you to continue praying for him. Thanks a lot." And he went back inside. Luna tried calling him but with the noise around, he couldn't hear her. She couldn't believe that he went into comma. How long will he take?
By this time, it was seven in the evening and after knowing about his current condition, most people started leaving and only a very few of them remained. It was getting dark and the sky roared with thunderstorm indicating that it was soon raining but Luna had made up her mind of not leaving without seeing him.
After half an hour, it started drizzling and the remaining people left leaving Luna alone outside the gate but she didn't budge. By this time it was really dark. She sat down and folded her knees to her chin when it seriously started raining soaking her. After it became unbearable for her, she stood up and clutched the metallic railings of the gate looking inside.
One of the guards saw a woman standing in the heavy rain soaking wet looking inside and he got an umbrella then went to chase her away. "Hey woman you should leave. You're going to catch a cold," said the guard. "Please let me talk to Mr Vikram. It's important please," she pleaded. "He's busy. Just leave." "Please I can't. If not get me any member of the Cullen family, please," she started crying. The guard really felt pity on the desperate girl and opened the gate for her and he told her to wait at the balcony which she did.
The guard went inside to look for Vikram but then he found Rebecca Cullen coming his direction and remembered the girl saying that any Cullen family member would do so he approached her. "Mrs. Cullen, outside is a young woman who needs to talk to any of you. She's saying it's important." Rebecca frowned and asked," How important?" "I don't know but she seems desperate. She's even soaked in rain." "Alright take me to her."
Rebecca reached and saw a young girl soaked in rain trembling in cold and when she reached her she asked," Who are you?" She was eyeing her from top to bottom. "I - My name is Luna Peyton. I would like to see Graham please. Just once I beg of you please," she was crying. "And why do you think I would let you see him? Are you a fan?" asked Rebecca frowning. "N-no I mean yes I'm his fan but it's not why I'm here. Just one glance will be enough for me." Luna slowly went down on her knees and looked up at her with tears in her eyes,"Please, just one second." "Sorry, only his family is allowed to see him. You shouldn't waste your time and just leave."
