Chapter 3: 2: The Bai Family
"DAMN IT!!" smash "HOW COULD THAT USELESS!" bang "PIECE OF GARBAGE!" break "GET SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY!!"
"SECOND MISS PLEASE! Calm down..." Looking at the ruined room, a young girl finally spoke up to try to calm the raging 'lady'.
"HOW CAN I WHEN THAT TRASH-mother?" Her mood instantly switching, the second miss ran into the arks of her mother and started to cry pitifully. Not at all like the previous monstrous mess. "Mother!! hick, did father ask the senior about accepting me as a disciple yet? How could that trash possibly deserve such a respected person even looking at her sob.."
The mother sighed and gently rubbed her daughters head. "Not even the Third Elder could understand the array how could we even get in to discuss with the senior? It is such a shame that an opportunity such as this was taken by that vixen..."
A truly close mother and daughter duo, however other than the face, the two of them looked nothing alike. Pointed ears cover in scales as well as a long snake tail for the daughter, and red fox ears and three fox tails for the mother. What both had in common though, was their poisonous personalities and the fact that both didn't know that this entire conversation was heard by the so called 'respected senior'.
'I feel bad for Baiqian, large families are truly all the same.' Sitting on the only unbroken object in the room, the bed, Yinyue gently tapped her chin. 'I do wonder why I still have my mana though...although regeneration is a bit slow it's definitely all still there how strange. Am I still in the same world somehow?'
Magic, an energy generated by the world tree that mages could acess. Using mana, they could essentially generate something from nothing. Mana can either convert to matter or manipulate the laws of the world. However mana was unique to each world, 'So I must be in a world I've been to before, I highly doubt that it's actually the same world... since there's mana then how come there's spiritual aura only used by cultivators? But I can't seem to raise my mage rank only acess my mana...if I could, I would be able to see which world I'm in. Meh. I'm not gonna complain I'll figure it out later. This is pretty convenient heh.'
Yinyue smiled and lept off the wooden bed. It actually had quite nice carpentry. The designs on it were so intricate, it was quite intriguing. Whoever carved it was extremely skilled. 'Time to check out this grandfather of Qianqian's.'
'Thinking about it, all of them seemed to have no horns however Baiqian seems to have a singular red on her head..' Cueing the wind, Yinyue blew around the broken pottery shards with magic. 'They'll survive..hopefully.'
Yinyue walked through the giant estate looking around for where Baiqian's grandfather might be. 'Yup. Definitely an important big family.' Yinyue nodded her head and continued on with her search. Eventually, a familiar voice came with in ear shot.
"I don't understand, what's so impressive about this 'expert' that requires US to be respectful too!?"
"Fourth Elder you don't understand...I was there with the patriarch at the time. That girl had laid down dozens of arrays atleast of the eighth grade!! Many of them connecting and forming profound grade formations...I have never even seen a seventh grade formation before let alone an eighth grade!"
'Fourth Elder' scoffed. "Second Elder, you're exaggerating. Such experts have already been long lost to history why would one come here?"
"ENOUGH!" The voice Yinyue recognized as belonging to the old man cut in.
Both Elders exclaimed at the same time, "PATRIARCH!"
"Regardless of their authenticity, we should take precautions." A sigh. "If they're truly a hidden expert of the myths it would do us well to recruit them to our side! Elders, do everything with in your power to repair our family's relationship with Baiqian back! Our Bai family must not fall."
Yinyue who heard the entire conversation: ...
'Our family?' So Baiqian truly isn't a part of them.' Yinyue sighed. How sad that such occurrences were a common thing...and hardly any would be as luck as Baiqian. Either Baiqian was adopted or an illegitimate child. 'Judging by their conversation, a rank four array master should be quite high yet...'
Yinyue sighed again. Such a troublesome disciple. 'Right, Baiqian said that she had low talent in cultivation right? This could be interesting.'
The best way to get revenge on such prideful people was, afterall, simply surpassing them and leacing them behind in the dust. A small smile graced Yinyue's face. 'I guess I should get back.'

"Master!" Baiqian joyfully exclaimed, her pointed ears twitching in happiness. "You're back!"
Yinyue kept a blank face. "Mn. Baiqian, explain the current ranking system to me will you?"
"Huh?"
"Ah." Yinyue mentally gave a sigh of relief. 'Thankfully I prepared an excuse before clan.' "You see Baiqian, I come from a hidden clan that has existed already for a very long time. I've long been secluded there, however the Elder's didn't have much more to teach me and told me to go out and apply the things I had learned." Glancing at Baiqian, Yinyue felt cold sweat start to form at the worship in her eyes. "So I currently do not understand the 'ranks' you guys use."
"Ah ofcourse!" Baiqian slapped her own forhead. Her gray hair parted slightky from the air generated. "How could I not think of this!! Every item or path in the world of cultivation is divided into ranks or categories unless you're a spiritual cultivator! The ranks go from one through twelve, and above that will be profound, earth, and heaven. Each also respectively divided into twelve ranks. The beginning twelve ranks are also divided into three: low, mid, and peak."
Yinyue: ...
"Right! Also, besides spiritual cultivators there's also doctors or medical cultivators. Arrays cultivators are important however pill alchemist, a subject medical cultivators can specialize in, and well as refinery cuultivators can both use some arrys to inprove the effect as well as speed of the production of pills or weapons they refine!"
'She's...talking so fast. I think I get the main idea though?' Yinyue almost wanted to cry, it might've been better to just steal a book or two from the Bai family..
Baiqian blinked then continued with her long explanation. "Spiritual cultivators have a completely different ranking system from other tyoes of cultivators! Often times, other types of cultivation are considered as a 'specialization', however talent in other categories are very rare so often they are extremely treasured as long as they have the slightest bit of cultivator talent..." Baiqian started to tear up a bit. "It requires a lot of aura to specialize in something, aura has to be refined from spiritual aura stored in a spiritual ocea or spirit stones which form after the accumulation of aura from battles or something. Anyways, spiritual cultivators are divided into:
Body building,
Qi refinement,
Foundation building,
Core formation,
Golden core,
Nascent soul,
And I've heard of ranks above Nascent soul however it's very hard to reach them theyre almost a myth....rank three in a specialization is considered an expert already. However, core formation is the expert level for spiritual cultivators..." Baiqian inhaked a deep breath after she finushed speaking.
"I see..." Yinyue almost cried in relief. 'I should've just stole a book! Who knew that she was such a chatterbox...'
Yinyue quickly cleared her head and met Baiqian's eyes with a serious gaze. "Baiqian, would you like to prove the Bai family wrong? I can help you improve above what you can ever imagine, so would you like revenge? Rank four at your age clearly shows your talent, however there's much in the world that you don't know that I can teach yoy, what do you say?"
Time seemed to freeze, two silver haired women stood there gazing into eachother's eyes. Baiqian's rudy eyes grew soon grew firm and determinely stated, "No."
