Chapter 1: Prologue

"Soooo I'm dead?" Honestly it feels kind of liberating, and sunny? Is that the right word? Not sure, but it's the best word I can think of. You know when you have a the sun shining on you on a breezy summer-

"Stop waffling, and yep you're dead"

So it can read my mind, kind of expected that. It's a massive ball of stars and nebulas, if it couldn't read my mind I'd be disappointed. Speaking of it is a really beautiful sight, like a clear picture of the night sky, I could -

"Waffle, waffle, waffle"

"Right, sorry. How does this work then? Do I go to the afterlife, or get reincarnated"

"In this part of infinity after a million reincarnations, you get to keep keep your memories and 1 standard perk/wish"

"This part of infinity?"

"Yeah, each part of infinity has different rules, beings, process etc, probably"

"What do you mean probably, aren't you supposed to be omnipotent?"

"Let me tell you a secret kid, no being is truly all knowing. It's the nature of infinity to be always bigger than you. As you get stronger, you discover and understand the smaller infinities, you learn to traverse it and manipulate it, but there is always a bigger infinity beyond. In fact there are an infinite infinities above you"

"Ouch, that hurt my brain"

"Oops, my bad. I tried showing the concepts through that little monologue. Your soul isn't up to snuff yet to handle that. On the plus side, congratulations, your soul just strengthened by trying to comprehend a higher dimension. Now back to the topic at hand, million reincarnations, memories and 1 perk. "

"So, I've done this before then?"

"Yeah, 3 guesses how many reincarnations ago, the first 2 don't count"

"A mill-"

"It was a rhetorical question dumbass"

"Rude, accurate, but rude. So how strong was I in my last isekai(?), and what did I wish for?"

"1st - It wasn't you, it was just your soul. But that was wiped out when upon death and a million wipes later there's nothing left of that incarnation, just like there's nothing left of the million incarnations after it. The same will happen to you, if you don't get strong enough in your next life and the you now will be wiped out in place for another you. Of course there is more to this but, that's not relevant now. As for your wish, won't be telling. Can't be influencing you now, can we?"

"OK, how strong was I (?) then?"

"Strength wise - roughly a quarter of Beerus' strength"

"W-what? How the hell did I (?) die?" That's worrying, even at a fraction of Beerus' power that's still overpowered. I can't even fathom how I(?) would've died.

"It was just bad luck really, the universe imploded due to outside influences. You'd have to be at a considerable strength to survive a universe bomb. A couple of more years and that incarnation would've been strong enough, and you wouldn't be here talking to me. You'll find luck plays a really large role in becoming a ROB"

Fuck fuck fuck, how the hell am I supposed to survive then, if my past self couldn't at that level. There's always a chance of something fucking up, from what ROB says. And if I'm unlucky enough, or hell if I don't get strong enough and die of old age then the me now is done for. I know I said death is kind of liberating, but that's only because I still have a sense of self. A null existence is terrifying. I'll need to make that wish count, but what the hell could I wish for to continue my existence.

"How did my soul survive the implosion?"

"Hah! Souls are like cockroaches, surprisingly difficult to destroy. It's certainly possible but if even a meaningful impression is left, the beyond will regenerate a soul given enough time. Even those soul destroying techniques just trap the soul until it is wiped clean and then hold onto it, until the beyond reclaims it. Going even further, there are an infinite number of timelines where the beyond can get a copy of a soul and clone it if need be. Mind you I'm just talking about the soul, the container for your incarnation, not the incarnation itself. That can be very much wiped out, beyond recovery. In a sense at least, you do have infinite timelines after all. So practically yes you can destroy it, realistically you can probably destroy it given enough effort and understanding"

"Ouuuuch, fuck my brain is splitting"

"You are surprisingly resilient, another minor strengthening for you, now time to choose your perk"

"Can I have some time to think about it?"

"Sure, as much as you need. Time has no meaning here after all. And remember a standard wish means nothing balance breaking, you can get something with the potential, but not at max level as the saying goes"

What saying.. No focus. OK, I need to make it a good wish. Something that'll help me in the long run. A system? No I can still be killed, and it would be useless if I reincarnate in a mundane world. No, I need something to protect my existence.

"Can I choose the world I go to?"

"It'll use up your wish"

Fuck. And what's with that smug expression. How can a galaxy even have a smug expression, is it laughing at me now? Fuck you. It just winked.

~~Waaaffflleee~~

Great, he's making fun of me in my head. Think, what could I use. I need something that I could use in case of death. Something that'll protect me from death? No, again it will be useless in the case of a mundane world and I can't get a strong enough protection from universal threats right off the bat. Sure I could choose something that I can strengthen, but I would probably have to be in a dangerous world to strengthen it. Which would mean higher chance of beings strong enough to bypass whatever protection I get, and it still doesn't solve the problem of being wiped out after death. Even if I could strengthen it in a mundane world, I would need a way to travel accross worlds to strengthen myself.

Wait wiped out. Potential to be OP allowed. Oh. Oh. Please allow this. Please allow this.

"Oh? Sounds like you thought of something interesting"

"Yeah, for my perk I want to keep my memories after death and reincarnations from now on" I mentally cross my fingers. Please, please please.

"Oh, I love that, thinking outside the box. Granted"

"YES!" Now whatever world I end up in won't matter, I'll just live my life and roll the dice on the next one. This is going to be awe-

And then I blacked out.
