Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Toru For The Win
"Wait is that Toru!? Wow she really is invisible... Never seen her on a screen before" Hitomi is staring up at the big screen as she sees the edgy bird boy and a disembodied white cloak and boots run into the building
"I've been meaning to ask Hitomi... How can you see screens? You use thermal vision to see your surroundings right so you shouldn't be able to see screens? Ribbit" Tsu scratches her cheek
"Hmm? Oh my Snakes, they're colourblind and short sighted but they still share their eyesight with me" she looks back at the screen "And this screen is massive so I don't need to get close"
"Colourblind? What colour can't you see?" She looks down at her own green bodysuit
"Red, so people that have red on like Kirishima or Momo look like they're wearing murky green, now shh! Let's focus" she watches the screen
Tokoyami sends Dark Shadow flying through the hallways ahead as a scout as he and Toru run in
"The building doesn't have many windows so it's the ideal environment for a powerful Quirk like Dark Shadow... As long as Tokoyami can control it" Hitomi taps her chin
"What do you mean control it?" Hitoshi folds his arms
"All in all Dark Shadow is like... Well a separate entity that Tokoyami has to tame like a pet, the darker it is the harder Dark Shadow is to control..." She folds her arms "It's a very impressive Quirk"
"How d'you know so much about it? Did you ask him? When?" He frowns
She laughs! "He's Toru's partner of course I asked him, I spoke to him when we were heading between observation rooms and he was quite open about it" she grins "Nervous that you position of best Bud could be in danger?"
"Well your new Best Bud is in trouble" he smirks
Hitomi looks at the screen again to see Aoyama with the missile, firing Naval Lasers at a nervously dodging Dark Shadow, keeping him at bay due to the fact it's pure light
Mina meanwhile is acid skating down the hall following Dark Shadow's teather towards Tokoyami as quickly as she can, that is until her face seems to smash into something causing her legs to go out from under her and sending her slamming onto her back as all her momentum acts against her
Hitomi frowns "What just happened to Mina?"
Tsu turns to her "That was most likely Toru's doing, Ribbit"
"Well yeah but I didn't see her" that gets her blank stares from her friends "What?"
"She's invisible?" Hitoshi facepalms
"Well duh! But I mean a didn't see her cloth- Wait..." She looks at the other camera angles and eventually spots Toru's cloak, boots and gloves in a pile by the entrance "She's naked!? And she's with Mina!?" She clenches her fists and her snakes hiss angrily
"Ohhhh?" Hitoshi grins "Got a problem with thaaaaat?"
"Yes!" She glares at the screen
"Whhhhhy?" His grin widens
"Because! Because..." 'Well... I don't like it! But also...' "Because there's no protection from Mina's acid! Yeah" she stares nervously at the screen
"Yeah... You make a good point..." Hitoshi watches too
And sure enough Mina is spinning in a circle flinging streams of acid around trying to hit the invisible Toru but luckily not having much success... Much to Mina's clear frustration, of course it's super weak acid
"Toru must have run away after that first hit Ribbit, I wonder where she went" Tsu looks at the different camera angles
"Well... Given that she didn't stick around after knocking Mina on her ass... She's either retreating back to Tokoyami, hiding somewhere or... Going for the weapon" Hitomi looks back at the weapon room to see Aoyama alone and dancing in celebration! Another angle shows Dark Shadow racing down the hall and back the way he came from... Leading him on a direct collision course with Mina
Mina notices this and starts flinging globs of acid at Dark Shadow while seemingly yelling into her earpiece, Aoyama's celebration dance freezes midway at whatever her words were and then...
"The Hero Team Wins Flawlessly! Congratulations Team E!" All Might yells into his mic
Aoyama jumps in surprise and looks around him in disbelief and confusion... Then his cape suddenly flips up over his head and he starts running around like a headless chicken! Running straight into the missile and knocking it and himself over
All might frowns "Young Hagakure Please Don't Bully Your Classmate!"
Mina sits on the floor and folds her arms in a sulk, meanwhile Dark shadow floats around her talking and she yells back at him
"Both Teams, Come On Back For Your Review Now" he puts his mic down and folds his arms to wait
Hitoshi turns to Hitomi "So how d'you think they did?"
"Well-"
All Might holds up a hand! "Ah Ah! No Discussing That Yet, I'm Sure You Have Excellent Points But Save Them For When The Teams Have Arrived Please"
Ida and Momo stand around contemplating their remarks and Hitomi is clearly doing the same... The class look at the three "Smart" students and resign to let them handle the review, a few have notes of their own of course even if they don't voice them
A minute later the depressed Aoyama and Mina and the cloaked, now, Toru and Tokoyami enter the room to All Might lead applause "Congratulations Both Teams!"
Aoyama swishes his cape and bows low elegantly "Merci beaucoup Monsieur! It was nothing"
Mina kicks his bowing butt causing him to fall over "We lost dumbass!"
He raises his head "But it was magnifique non?"
She folds her arms and narrows her dark eyes "Non."
"Anywho!" All Might cuts in and points to the rest of the class "Who's Got Notes!?" Ida, Momo, Hitomi and Hitoshi raise their hands "Hmm... One At A Time! Ida You First"
"Thank You Sir!" He turns to the two teams "Ashido you did a good job in responding to the threat Dark Shadow posed by attempting to attack the source, Tokoyami"
"Thanks glasses character!" She throws up a peace sign
"G-glasses character!? See here my name is Tenya I-"
All Might interrupts "Nnnnnext! Yaoyorozu!"
"Hm, Aoyama you let your perceived victory over Dark Shadow go to your head and completely lost focus, thus letting Toru easily slip past you and claim victory" she folds her arms
"Ma faute..." He droops...
"Sekizō You're Next!" All Might points to her
"Toru, did you ask Tokoyami to bring Dark Shadow back to deal with Mina after you got past her?"
"Mhm! I did! I held out my arm as she was going passed and she slammed right into it!" She grins and Mina growls "Then I kept running past and followed her trail to the bomb room"
Hitomi smiles warmly "Good job, you did well, communication is key"
"Th-thanks..." She blushes and hides in her cloak
"Aaaaand Finally Young Shinso!"
"Yeah... Tokoyami, you sent Dark Shadow ahead to scout and then sent it to touch the missile which would have been a technical win for your Team, while taking advantage of the fact this is just an exercise and simply touching the bomb means victory it was the most efficient way to win, good job" he folds his arms and nods
"You have my thanks" Tokoyami nods to him
"Hm! All Very Good Points From Each Of You! Has Anybody Else Got Anything To Say?" Everyone looks around at each other
"Hey were you really naked during the tethst!?" Mineta raises his hand! While looking at Toru "Are you naked under that cloak?"
Hitomi and all her snakes glare at him accompanied by hostile hissing! 'You're snake chow Grape Boy!'
"Ok Moving Onto The Final Area! Team C Kirishima And Jiro Vs Team J Kaminari And Shoji! Let's Go! Quickly!" 'Before Anyone Gets Hurt!' he uses his massive arms to herd the majority of the class towards the door
Aoyama goes over to the rest of the class and Mina, Toru and Tokoyami goes to Hitomi, Tsu and Hitoshi
"Hey Tokoyami" Hitomi waves
"Greetings, I wished to express my gratitude for your advice during our earlier conversation" he folds his arms and nods to her
"Ahhh don't worry about it, I'm happy to help a classmate" she gives him a thumbs up
He chuckles "I am under no illusion of which Classmate you were looking to assist" he glances at Toru then back at Hitomi
"Ha... Saw right through me eh...?" She rubs the back of her neck
"Indeed, though regardless of your motivation your advice was of value to me, you have my aid if in need of it in the future" he bows to her then turns and follows the group
Hitoshi steps up next to her "What advice did you give him?"
"Use his phone light on the tail end of Dark Shadow if he gets too fiesty" she shrugs
"Not bad... Not bad, he seems a good ally to have" he folds his arms "Still not as good as me"
Mina comes over all sad and droopy "Hitoshi I lost... Go beat up Toru for me"
He glanced at Hitomi and she grins at him as her snakes bare their fangs
"Mina... You must take your losses with honor and treat them as a learning opportunity" he nods to himself
"That's total bull you're just scared of Hitomi ain'tcha?" She folds her arms
"Yeah... Don't judge me until her snakes bite you! Feels horrible" He points at the snakes who all tilt their little heads innocently
Hitomi giggles "You two are so cute together" Both of them drop their jaws! "Byyyye!" She leaves them frozen and walks off after the class with Toru in tow
Mina and Hitoshi look at each other and say at the same time "Nope!" Before following
