Darkness envelops me. It's all I can perceive. My senses—hearing, smell, touch—are numb, as if they never existed. Only an endless void surrounds me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation. Well, let's rewind to the beginning.
My name is William. I'm 25 years old, just an average guy working as a call center agent. My life is ordinary, mundane even. I live in a modest apartment, my days blending into a monotonous routine. My only solace lies in my days off, where I immerse myself in the world of anime and manga. They're my escape, my secret passion.
One particular day off, I found myself sprawled on my bed, eyes glued to the screen as *My Hero Academia* played. The show wasn't just a way to kill time; it was a source of fascination. The characters were richly drawn, each with their own quirks—both literally and figuratively. But it was the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, or 'Deku', who held my attention the most. Here was a boy, smart beyond measure, yet seemingly unable to harness his full potential. His analytical mind could dissect any quirk, understanding its type, strengths, weaknesses, and even potential improvements. He could strategize and devise plans with a high probability of success, given the right resources and time.
"If only I had those resources," I mused aloud. "I'd make sure to achieve my goals, no matter the cost." But then, who was I to judge Deku? Watching his struggles, both mental and physical, made my own seem insignificant.
"Man, I wish I were in *My Hero Academia*," I sighed. "I could really make a difference." As the words left my mouth, an ominous tremor shook the room. The walls of my apartment began to crumble, the ceiling giving way. In an instant, everything collapsed, and my world went black.
Is this the afterlife? No response came. I floated in an abyss of silence and darkness, time losing its meaning. Just as the void threatened to consume me, a blinding light pierced through. It was overwhelming, and before I knew it, I lost consciousness.
When I finally came to, pain wracked my body. It felt as though I had been used as a punching bag. Slowly, I gathered my bearings. My eyes fluttered open, revealing an unfamiliar ceiling adorned with a poster. The smiling face of All Might beamed down at me, the words "ALL MIGHT!" emblazoned boldly.
Confusion set in as I sat up. The room was strange, filled with posters and figurines that mirrored my own collection. "Whose room is this?" I wondered aloud. It didn't feel like a hospital, that was for sure.
As I stood and stumbled towards the mirror, my reflection shocked me to my core. Staring back was not my own face, but that of a boy with messy green hair, round green eyes, and freckles dotting his cheeks. It was Izuku Midoriya, the very hero from *My Hero Academia*.
