Chapter 140: You Looked Like My Brother...

The connection between carriages was bumpy. Julia managed to keep her balance with one hand against the wall behind her.

Steve lowered his head and looked at her. He said, "I am going there, too."

"Ah?" Julia exclaimed in astonishment, "You too?"

"Yes." Steve said, pointing to the wet seat in front of him. "You can't sit over there."

How did he know?

She asked, "Where were you there?"

Steve smiled, "It should be earlier than you think."

His voice was clear and melodious.

"Let's go. Keep a low profile." Steve reminded in a low voice.

There were indeed many curious gazes from the crowd. With Steve's figure, even if he wore a mask and a hat, he was still outstanding. When he and Julia stood together, it caught everyone's attention.

Julia nodded and said, "Alright."

Just as she was about to leave, the girl who had been silent chased after her, "Miss!"

Julia halted.

The girl whispered, "Thank you, thank you very much."

Her eyes were big and beautiful.

Julia thought for a moment and gave her a piece of advice, "You're welcome. You should become stronger, otherwise, your life would not get better."

The girl was stunned. After a while, she sighed and walked back to her seat.

The first—class carriage was relatively spacious. There were five seats inside. Steve had booked them all. So it looked extremely spacious.

Neal placed Julia's small suitcase and found an excuse to leave.

Soon, there were only two people in the large carriage. Julia was sitting on the left side of Steve.

Steve noticed that Julia was uneasy, so he pressed the service button, asking the attendant to bring a cup of fruit tea over.

When he raised his hand, a string of rosary bracelets appeared on his wrist. It looked like he had been wearing it for a long time.

It turned out that he had faith. No wonder he was so gentle.

Julia took a sip of the fruit tea. It was made from grapefruit and passionfruit with honey in it.

She frowned and asked, "The tea..."

"Don't you like it?"

"No, I like it…" She added, "I just didn't expect that there would be fruit tea on the high—speed train."

"As long as you like it."

Julia was embarrassed and wanted to explain what had happened.

She thought Steve was an idle and she never thought that he would be so consistent in front of the stage and behind it. He was gentle, humble, and courteous.

She respected him very much. So she didn't want him to misunderstand her.

She put down the cup in her hand and stammered, "Steve, just now... I wasn't usually..."

She wanted to say that she wasn't usually like that, but she couldn't say it out loud. When she encountered such a thing, she couldn't help but step forward.

She hesitated for a long time. Finally, she said discouragingly, "Could you pretend that you didn't see it?"

"But I saw it."

Suddenly, he became serious. Julia was a bit stunned.

The train was running at high speed. Steve's eyes were especially bright.

"You did the right thing."

"I have to say, good for you. Only few people can throw away their identity just like you." Steve looked at the inconspicuous red dot on her hand and said, "But remember to protect yourself next time."

His voice was low and clear, suppressing everything around him, and it had the power to strike into the bottom of her heart.

Julia didn't know how to respond.

Seeing this, Steve smiled and asked, "Why are you always in daze?"

Julia was embarrassed. Usually, she wasn't like this. In face of him, she had an inexplicable desire to pour out her words. "You look like my brother."

Steve looked at her as he waited for her to continue.

"He's very gentle, just like you."

Recalling her brother, Julia smiled unconsciously.

Steve said softly, "You must like your brother very much."

"Yes." She admitted. Her eyes were clear and bright, which were very attractive.

For Julia, her brother was a very gentle person. He rode his bike to pick lotus and dates from trees for her in summer, and made snowmen for her in winter.

That gentle person in her memories had been considered as a devil by others.

She lost some of her memories in Sichen.

It was reported that Max, her brother, didn't talk about what happened that night. He admitted that he had hurt that person and it had nothing to do with other people.

But the police still listed her brother as a suspect and had been tracking him down.

On that day, she was having a fever, so she did not know anything. Then she was brought to Country D. Gloria did not allow her to return to Sichen. She could not even mention it.

It had been too long, and she couldn't figure out what had really happened.

She did not believe that Max was a murderer. She thought that Max, her brother were protecting her. If she could remember everything, her brother might come back...

But was he still alive? Was he living in somewhere in this world?

Thinking about this, Julia fell asleep against the back of the chair.

Steve looked up and saw that there was a beam of light on her face. He pulled down the sun visor and turn off the light above her head.

Julia's face sank into darkness. Steve regarded her thoughtfully.

When the train arrived at the station, Julia was still sleeping. Neal walked in to take the suitcase. "Sir, Miss Green is sleeping. Why don't you carry her out?"

Steve narrowed his eyes, "It's none of your business."

Neal shut his mouth.

He was worried about his boss.

But his boss didn't appreciate it.

The angry boss was scary. Neal pursed his mouth tightly and immediately slipped out with the suitcase in his hand.

This station was the terminal. There was enough time for passengers to get off the train.

Steve looked at her for a while. He sighed and then lowered his body, holding the armrest with one hand, while his other hand was intending to wrap it in her waist.

Just as he was about to get close to her, the phone in Julia's bag vibrated. Julia Opened her eyes and was stunned when she saw his face in front of her.

Steve did not expect that she would wake up suddenly. He became nervous.

Julia looked at the subtle distance between them and stammered, "Steve... What are you doing?"
