Chapter 3: Please don't kill me

Pei Xingcheng stared at the beautiful ghost in his room vigilantly while he limped back towards the door. While doing so, he did not forget to warn the ghost in his room. "D-don't.... don't you dare come towards me otherwise... I-I... I-I'll... I-I'll...."

"You will what?" Suddenly, the beautiful ghost pursed her lips, crossed her arms over her chest, and raised her brows at him calmly. "What will you do to me, Xingcheng?"

"I-I... I'll...." Pei Xingcheng gulped. He could see the challenge in the beautiful ghost's eyes as if she was daring him to do something to make her disappear. He tried to think of something but nothing came to his mind. All he wanted to do was run, somewhere far away from here.

At this moment, the beautiful ghost smiled and floated towards him.

Immedietely, Pei Xingcheng's eyes widened with horror and his face paled with fear.

"Can you beat me?" the ghost asked.

Pei Xingcheng shook his head. "No."

"Can you make me disappear?"

"No," he stammered in fear.

The ghost smiled and with each question, she began to step closer and closer to him. "Can you touch me?" she asked.

"No!"

"Then what can you do to me, Xingcheng?"

"N-nothing... I-I... I can do nothing..." he answered with a crying expression. At this moment, his hands touched the handle of the door. Realizing that he was already by the door, his heart leaped with joy. Now, all he needed to do what to open the door and run.

A small smile flashed in his eyes as he quickly tried to open the door, however, he failed. His face sank when he realized that he was unable to open the door. No matter how many times, he tried to turn the handle, the door was still locked.

No! His mind screamed internally when the reality of being locked inside a room with a beautiful ghost began to set in his mind. At this moment, all those legends and scary stories of beautiful ghosts preying upon handsome young men to extend their vitality began to cloud his mind.

Goosebumps rose all over his body and fearfully, he looked back at the ghost. She was still standing in the same position, staring at him. "Done trying?" she asked him with a smile.

Pei Xingcheng wanted to cry. And, he did in the next second. Folding his hand in front of the ghost, he started to cry and plead for mercy. "M-miss ghost... Please, please let go of me. I-I... I know I am wrong. I realize my mistake. I shouldn't have flirted with you. If I have offended you in some way, then please have mercy on me."

"I-I... I am still young, and I haven't even got married yet. Please don't kill me. I-I... still want to live. I-I.... please let go of me, woo...."

Suddenly, thinking of someone, his eyes brightened. "Miss Ghost, if you want to kill someone, I know a guy. His name is Ye Qingze. He is my number one enemy but trust me when I say this, he is the most handsome guy in our college. And, he works out every day, showing off that healthy and strong body. I am pretty sure that he will be able to satisfy your appetite."

"As for me, please let me go. Just look at me, I am not handsome. I am not healthy. There is nothing in me that is attractive... I am nasty. So, please let me go and haunt Ye Qingze, that arrogant brat..."

Hearing his words, the ghost suddenly smiled. She always knew that Pei Xingcheng was scared of ghosts and scary things, but she never thought that he was afraid of ghosts to this extent. He even began to sell his friend to her shamelessly.

For some reason, looking at him acting in such a way, she felt the urge to tease him.

At that same time, it saddened her to see that he didn't remember her or anything related to her. She wanted to talk to him, tell him about her situation, tell him her name, but every time she tried, her body was electrocuted. She felt as though her soul was burning in the deep fire of hell.

That made her realize one thing, she cannot tell him her name or anything about her.

"Xingcheng," she smiled and floated right in front of him.

Pei Xingcheng took a deep breath, his body turning stiff at her nearness and he halted his breath, as if afraid to breathe in her presence.

Miss Ghost smiled. "Don't you feel bad for selling your friend to me?"

He shook his head. "He's no friend of mine."

"You really don't remember anything, do you?" she asked.

Pei Xingcheng frowned. For some reason, he felt a deep sadness and pain in Miss Ghost's eyes. "What do you mean?"

Miss Ghost opened her mouth to answer, but suddenly, she looked past him towards the door, paused for two seconds, and then disappeared right in front of him. Pe Xingcheng was dumbfounded but relieved at the same time. He didn't wait to see why the ghost disappeared from his room. Seeing that she was gone, he tried to open the door

He turned the handle and this time, the door opened.

Immedietely, his face lit up and he limped out of the door. The moment he stepped outside his room, he noticed he was standing in a dimly lit hallway. His expression quickly stretched into a mask of terror when he noticed that it was terribly quiet and he was all alone in this hallway.

It looked like a straight-up scene from a terrible haunted movie. This realization almost gave him a mini-heart attack and he panicked. Dragging his injured leg, he moved forward trying to go as far away as he could from the room, fearing that if he didn't leave this haunted place, that beautiful female ghost might catch up to him.

He had just taken a few steps, when he looked back to check whether the ghost was following him or not, when suddenly, he bumped into someone.
