Chapter 1: Chapter one

Light brown hair bounced around her pale face that started to tint red due to the laborious task of chopping down the tree in preparation for winter. Winter was drawing near and Alaska needed her small cabin warm. Not to warm her body but her heart.

Using her axe with a brutal force. relentlessly cutting logs to load onto the back of her blue pickup truck. Her bright blue eyes glistened through the dense, fog-covered forest.

When she senses movement and the scent of a wandering deer, her eyes turn grey and Instead of the attractive girl, a large dark brown wolf appeared and moved in the direction of the prey. the unfortunate creature could not even move a leg, when the wolf of Alaska snatched it and effortlessly flung it at the back of the vehicle.

After getting done with her logs she gets to her F-150 and ride to her house that is In the same area -the woods of Wyoming-.

As she approaches her cabin she stops the car. And begins unloading the wooden logs, organizing them on her cabin's porch.

She was almost through with her work. When Alaska's heart began to speed as a mirage-like figure loomed at the furthest point of her territory.

'Are they enemies, or maybe they're from the moon howlers pack'

'No they don't represent any threat to us' her wolf, Rogue replied through the mind-link.

'But i sense something weird about them' Her wolf added.

Alaska zoned her wolf out, and started observing the figure as it drew nearer. And it emerged that the hazy limping figure was a man. The closer he got the smell of blood hit her nose

A few feet away from her. He collapsed to his knees and was limp. Dirt covered him. Rock planted his bare feet as what had been his white shirt was torn to pieces and smeared in blood that was oozing from everywhere from his body.

At his sight, Alaska sprung to him and held him. examining him. Relief fell her when she noticed that he's still breathing, and has pulse.

Although he was frail, he still had muscles, which made it difficult for Alaska to move him inside the cabin.

After dragging him inside rather than carrying him, she reached her bed.

At the sight of him, she felt her heart rip apart. Which is an odd sensation for her to have. She learnt to suppress her emotions and her displays of affection for others... since she left her pack.

'Are you going to keep staring at him' Rogue got her out of her trance.

'We have to help him' Alaska replied back

A little bowl with warm water in it and a rag were brought by her. After soaking the cloth, she began scrubbing the blood from the open gashes in his chest. Then, after thoroughly rinsing the cloth, she turned to his face, which was caked in blood and dirt.

Alaska found herself mesmerized by his good looks after cleaning off the filth that clung to his face. despite the suffering he has experienced. He had a gorgeous appearance.

'I'm really enjoy the sight right now but we need to finish our work and provide him a proper healing, so we can see his eyes' Rogue started with her arrogant remarks

Alaska sighs before saying 'Really? the man is on the verge of death, and that's what you're thinking about' With no further words, Alaska got up to refill the bowl with clean water.

When she enters back the room she halts in her tracks startled by the deep greens staring back at her.

Alaska couldn't move until her wolf pulled up with a wolffish whistle 'Girl, those eyes. He heard us talking about them?'

And, It was once in rare times when Alaska agreed with her wolf, his eyes were a perfect shade of green.

With unseen magnet-like-force Alaska found her legs dragging her to her bed, close to him.

They held each other's eyes for a while before Alaska broke it when she looked over his scars as if seeking approval to proceed with her work. He blinked his eyes in feeble way, granting her permission to touch his body, to treat his wounds.

Alaska proceeded with her work with no words exchanged. The silence was heavy and dense that you could cut with a knife.

'Should we ask him... you know; some questions' Alaska asked her wolf

'I don't think it's a good idea—I mean look at him. The man is traumatized'

'You're probably right'

'Girl I'm always right' at her remark, Alaska asked god on why having such a wolf.

When Alaska was finished, she went to her closet and pulled a large shirt and basketball shorts that belonged to her brother from before she left.

She returned to him with the clothes in her hand and placed them at the edge of the bed.

Once more, she found herself gazing at him with a strong emotion that made her despise herself. But as he gazed at her with his emerald eyes, filled with gratitude, she regretted her most recent thoughts.

With a heavy sigh she exited the room, giving him some space to rest. And walked to her kitchen with an intention of preparing him some herbal tea.

'What are we doing Rogue? Is having him here with us the right thing to do?'

'Alaska i know you're cruel but we weren't going to let him perish on our territory right?. Plus I told you that i feel no threat from him.'

'But there's still something weird about him... something I couldn't put a hand on' Her wolf continued

Alaska let out a chuckle and said 'The weirdest thing is me... showing emotions'

'Oh please, consider of the positive side. We now have a living being in our home— A companion, we're no longer lonely' her wolf persuaded.

'Oh my god rogue. You're talking as if we're best friends or husband and wife. He'll leave as soon as he's healed.'

'I tell you what. You talk a lot; just give the man his tea already.'

She returned to her room after filling a cup with the warm beverage. lightly banging on the door. that no human ear could pick up the noise.

He's barely conscious. I am Not going to cause more damage to his head by knocking aloud. She thought to herself

Getting inside she found him laying on the bed wearing the clothes she gave him, She took hesitant steps to her bed while he continued to stare at her, and when he saw the cup in her hands, he glanced up at her with wary, perplexed eyes.

She took it as a cue to tell him what was inside, "I brought you some herbal tea."

When she uttered the words with that melodic voice He believed her instantly, with aching muscles he attempted to get up and take the cup from between her fingers but he couldn't and Alaska noticed his struggle.

She helped him sit by placing the cup on the nightstand next to her bed and wrapping her hands over his back, and supported him with two pillows placed behind him. She then retrieved the cup from the bedside table. She saw the scrapes on his hands as he reached out to take the cup from her, so instead of giving it to him, she kept it close to his mouth and placed a gentle hand on his neck to encourage him to drink.

Slowly sipping the drink, he took pleasure in the way her fingers warmed his neck. It had been a while since he had felt taken care of, so he didn't want the moment to end, but he also didn't want to add to the attractive woman's burden. When the cup was nearly empty he signaled for her to stop by placing his palm over hers that felt so soft. And Alaska enjoyed the feel of his hand instantly but she retracted the cup nonetheless.

He wanted to thank her, but he was unable to do so because of a knot in his throat. He wanted to cry, but restrained himself because that is what they had taught him to do—they had taught him not to exhibit emotion, not to cry in front of people, and how to rule.

Alaska saw the raw emotions cross his eyes. She felt the need to console him, but all she could manage was to squeeze his shoulder. As he gazed up at her, Alaska offered him a little smile and she said, "Rest now."

With that being said she left the room. What now she thought to herself.

"Let's make something to eat" she then told her wolf.

She went back to her pickup truck and pulled the deer of this morning. Skinning it, then cut it into fine slices, she then put some logs in the fire pit and lit them. The wooden logs were burning while some of them turned to coal. After that she cooked the slices.

While some stars began to fill the sky, the sun was low in the sky. Along with the aroma of burning wood and the deer meat. Alaska felt tranquil.

Once she had finished cooking. She served two large pieces on a plate and filled a cup with water and took them to her room. Before even making it inside she heard his heavy breathing.

He is sleeping.

Nevertheless, she entered and placed the tray on the nightstand so that when he awoke, he would have something to eat.

For the third time that day, she found herself staring at him. Soaking in every feature of him. His long eyelashes were resting on his high cheekbones. With unkempt hair that she craved despite its filth. His lips were chopped but still looked desirable to Alaska.

With a sigh she left her room.

"Guess we'll be sleeping on the couch tonight" Alaska told her wolf.

"I don't mind as long as we're having that hunk in our cabin... and sleeping on our bed"

Alaska rolled her eyes before saying "yeah yeah"

"Come on Alaska don't act like you don't like him— or that you don't think he's attractive."

Alaska did found him attractive. And anyone can tell he is. But she didn't reply to her wolf and instead she said "We have to sleep"
