Chapter 2: To Her, Who Lost Everything

What the elf said was right. As one can see with my appearance, I have connection with the dark. I am, after all, the embodiment of order and chaos; light and dark. Ever since I was born, I possessed the power to balance forces from both sides using my dreams. With my birth, people around me started to have hope that peace can one day be attained. And so, I did such. I fell into centuries of sleep and absorbed the power of darkness and the light to give peace to the people of my land. But the conflicts never ended. Man's innate instinct to be the alpha never allowed peace to take place. Battles started from different regions until it became a full blown war. With that, I was awaken by the people of my land in hope that I may once again pacify the tension even temporarily. I snapped. I was enraged by the greed that has taken over my land. I felt the power of darkness starting to overpower the light as both resides in my frail, sleep-weakened body. I wreaked havoc everywhere and started to attack everything in sight. Simply put, I became everyone's common enemy. It's such an irony that I had to cause chaos in order to give peace. People attacked me from every angle, some really powerful that even I, the most powerful mage acquired fatal damages. Just as I was starting to lose consciousness due to the massive magical attacks thrown at me, I fled from the scene. I sought for a world where nobody would see the death of me, for I was aware that the damages dealt to my body are beyond cure. After some time of drifting through different dimensions and timelines, I found a forest. A quiet forest away from the evil of humanity is a fitting place for me to die. I laid somewhere inside the forest and just as my eyes were about to close, I saw the shadow of a man with extended ears and pure white eyes …
