Chapter 11: The Unfamiliar Boy and the Winged Woman IX

–Ayaka–

Days quickly passed by as Ayaka and Issei's training progress gradually paid off. Well, let's take a peek at their current stats.

[- -]

[Name: Kamika Ayaka]

[Age: 16 years]

[Rank: [High-Tier] Middle Class]

[Physique: 23]

[Guide]: [Normal Human's physique is around 10.]

.

[- -]

[Name: Hyoudou Issei]

[Age: 17 years]

[Rank: [Low-Tier] Middle Class] – [Mid - High-Tier] Middle Class via multiple Boosts]

[Physique: 31]

Well, first off, there are many things to say about these two, Ayaka who had previously absolutely disdained physical training was motivated, by Issei, well not really.

Ayaka saw him as a useful training partner, like a sandbag or Guinea pig, to practice on

Anyways, regarding Ayaka's physique, yeah, that was the only thing dragging him down, however, despite that, Ayaka still persevered.

It could be said, Ayaka was extremely frustrated at how well Issei adapts, 'as expected of the protagonist.'

However, despite his weak physique, that doesn't mean Ayaka was weaker, no way, with multiple enhancement techniques, magic spells, and Onmyōdō talisman, Ayaka can keep with a someone with a stronger physique.

Ayaka had also taught Issei a little about Onmyōdō, Issei was only able to grasp little of what Ayaka taught him, 'surely, he's a dunce,' Ayaka thought to himself, but that doesn't mean he saw Issei as a fool.

That aside, they've also been keeping tabs on Raynare's movement, Issei crossed Asia's path sometime ago, and the bond between them deepened, I mean, friendship, or companionship, nothing relating to feelings or love has been cultivated here.

On the other hand, Ayaka was experimenting various way of how he could get stronger, of course, he would be a fool to rely solely on [Decomposition].

Further experimentation, lead Ayaka to a new devastating magic-based spell of the [Decomposition Branch], and that is. . .

[Material Burst], a strategic class magic, in other words, a nuclear warhead.

It has been likened to a magical equivalent of a nuclear warhead, and operates similarly on fundamental principles of physics; by converting matter into energy, it performs comparable destruction without the radioactive material fallout.

Yeah, in other words, Ayaka is currently a walking nuclear warhead, Although he himself hasn't tried the spell yet, he was successful in activating its sequence.

Doesn't matter, if he excelled in the theory use, the practical use would be easy for him. Not only that, Ayaka was already getting to the level he could read information bodies.

He couldn't interfere with the information bodies yet, he could simply read them and understand them, which is a huge boost for him, especially facing techniques he had no information on.

He could easily find the counter to new information's now.

As the clock's hands ticked down, the reaper's time to fulfil its purpose drew near. Its eyes glowed with an otherworldly aura, signifying its imminent emergence.

Tonight, lives would be claimed. Death was on the horizon.

–Raynare–

.

It's been quite some time since she last saw Donaseek. She, Kalawarna, and Mittelt tried searching for him; however, no matter how much they searched, they couldn't find him, not to talk of traces of him.

Well, what else?

They decided to give up looking for him.

She had other plans, after all.

Though, she also wasn't aware that Issei was still alive; she was completely clueless!

Well, forget that.

Anyways, today was the day she would finally become someone important in Grigori; everything she did to this day was all for Grigori.

She mused to herself.

With the help of her subordinate and the corrupted priest that she managed to entice, she prepared everything.

No, preparations were made.

The only thing that was left was to sacrifice the nun and obtain her gear; surely, with this, she would finally become someone important.

The crazy in the head rogue priest, Freed Sellzen, approached Raynare with a psychotic grin on his face which disgusted her.

"Hehe, almighty Raynare-sama, I have brought good tiding."

With a jolly tone, he smiled as he presented a knocked-out Asia before Raynare, seeing this greatly please her, much to her disgust in the guy beside her.

She looked at the sacred gear in Asia's hands as she whispered to herself, 'you'll soon be mine.'

Raynare, Ignoring Freed, went to the basement of the church, along with the fallen priests that had been deceived by her.

There, she laid Asia on the cross.

With this, victory was hers'.

–Ayaka–

.

Ayaka glanced at the boy beside him, noticing the absence of his usual demeanor. The expression on his face was one of pure anger, perhaps even hatred.

"..." Ayaka didn't intervene. He was simply here to accompany his friend on this killing spree. He wouldn't miss an opportunity to witness a festival of death, wherever it may be.

The two boys slowly made their way through the forest. Ayaka assured Issei that the fallen angels posed no threat to them and that it would take some time before they could successfully extract Asia's sacred gear.

However, if Ayaka hadn't restrained Issei, he would have undoubtedly charged into the church headfirst.

"It will be your first time battling someone other than that monster. How do you feel?" Ddraig asked Issei.

Ayaka raised an eyebrow at the comment, while frowning. "Who are you calling a monster?" he retorted.

Ddraig paused for a moment, then replied, "Aren't you one? In my long existence, I've never come across someone as complicated and unique as you. Even without a sacred gear, you are in a league of your own. If you continue to progress, you might even become a saint!"

This information got Ayaka's curiosity and his attention, "Saint? What do you mean?" both Ayaka and Issei stared at the sacred gear battle gloves on Issei's hands.

Issei had desired more comfortable gauntlets to execute powerful punches with both hands, and through some miraculous turn of events, it worked.

The one-handed gauntlet had transformed into a pair of two-handed battle gloves. The signature green orb remained on the gear, although it had become smaller in size.

Banzai for Imagination.

"Hmm? Did I say something, hmm, for some reason, I can't quite remember well, was it a thousand years ago, or was it more than that, I don't really remember."

"Hmm? Did I say something? For some reason, I can't recall clearly. Was it a thousand years ago, or perhaps even longer? I can't remember," Ddraig mused.

Ayaka sighed, "I see." However, he was now more certain than ever that there was a way for him to improve as well.

"Anyways, let's take care of the wenches on the other side shall we."

Issei nodded as both of them leisurely proceeded, their figures haunting.
