Chapter 115: Mistakes and Regrets

I laid still on the soft mattress, my son fast asleep in my arms. It was past midnight, and Hassan was yet to say a word to me since morning. A part of me regrets telling him about the affair, but I knew coming clean to Hassan was the best idea. Things would probably be worse if he had found out on his own. Not only would he see me as a cheat, but also a liar. It was best to tackle this issue before it could mature to something way worse.

I closed my eyes and tried forcing myself to sleep, but it didn't work. How could I sleep when my husband was doing everything in his power to avoid me? I had watched as he moved through the house, avoiding my gaze at every turn. Hassan wasn't the quiet type, and that is why this silence was something different. It made me feel even more bad about myself, and I could tell that was exactly how Hassan wanted me to feel.
