Chapter 2: Starting a New Life as a Newborn Lioness Cub
[Third POV]
In a huge city that was surrounded by huge walls lies a mansion that was owned by the lord and mayor of this place.
Within that said mansion, the miracle of life was currently in session and madam of the mansion was giving birth to a child.
"Breathe harder, madam Hilda. I can see the head of the infant" the doctor said to the madam who is having difficulties with the childbirth.
"Grrrgh.... Darling, I think my stomach is burning from the inside" the madam grimaces in pain as she feels the heat inside her womb.
"Stay calm, my love. It will be over soon" the husband of the madam is reassuring her as he holds her hand.
"Why is it taking so long! I want to see my grandchild!" a vigorous old man shouts impatiently as he couldn't wait to see his grandchild.
"Just a little bit longer, my lord. The baby is almost he... Ouch!" the doctor flinched as she felt something from the baby.
"What's wrong doctor? Is something the matter?" the husband asked for the reason for doctor's sudden yelp of pain.
"Ah, forgive me, lord Philip. My hand just suddenly scorched by the baby's hand. Also, the baby is girl, my lord" the doctor said as she finally pulled out the baby from the mother's vagina.
"Really? Let me see" the husband inspect the child after the doctor was done with the procedure.
He reaches his finger to the baby's hand and he felt a hot sensation as he touches the palm of the baby.
"Ouch, your right doctor. It does scorch my finger when I touch her hand" the husband confirms the doctor's claim that the baby has [Searing Hands].
"Huh?! Let me see the baby, you ingrate! Ouch! What the heck is this?! You, explain why is my granddaughter's hands are very hot!" the old man angrily demands for answers from the doctor.
"Forgive me, my lord. I think that your granddaughter might be blessed with extraordinary power or in short, the child is a [Miko]" the doctor explained about reason for the child's condition, saying that their child is special.
""What?!"" both the mother and father of the child was shock to hear that their newborn child is a [Miko].
"HAHAHAHA! Splendid! The lineage of the Boreas Family had given birth to wonderful offspring!" the old man boisterously cheers after hearing that his grandchild is a special individual.
"What do we name our child, darling?" The madam asked her husband on what they name the child.
"Hmmm, let me see.... Ah, how about Bellona" the husband suggested, making the people in the room agrees with the suggestion
"Very well! This grandchild of mine will be named Bellona Boreas Greyrat!!" the old shouts as he declared the name of the child.

[Bellona's POV]
'Urgh, where am I? Why can't I see very well' I said to myself as I seem to see properly and everything is blurry.
Although I can't see much, I can hear the sounds of my surrounding. I hear voices of people around me and they seem to speak a language that I can't determine.
I have studied a lot of language in the past but none of the vocabulary seems to match any known language from the previous world.
Am I really in the world of Mushoku Tensei? Wait, I remember... I used to watch the anime version of the novel in the past and the first thing that the main character heard in his reincarnated state is the same for the words I am currently listening.
Yeah, that's it. This must be the language that the people in this world uses.
Judging from the enthusiasm that people were saying, I can deduce that they were celebrating something and from my observation of my body's condition, I seem to be a baby that was been born.
In conclusion, I have been reborn as a newborn baby, which is obvious.
I was then picked up by someone. Even I can't see properly, I can assume that the person that picked me up was a male, judging from the voice. And if I follow my logic of this situation, I can deduce that he is my father.
The person then reaches his finger towards my hand and he suddenly yelp in pain.
What? Why did he cry out in pain when he touches my hand? Is there something wrong with my hand?
Then someone with a loud voice comes towards me and my father, and he also touches my hand. He yells in pain when he touches it and from sound of his tone, he must be protesting about the reason for why he feels pain for touching my hand.
While I am listening to the conversation of the people, I heard some terminologies that sounds familiar, like the word Miko.
If I remember in the novel, the Miko was something of a superhuman that was blessed with powers and one of the characters in the story who was a miko person is named Zanoba or something.
And if put the information together with the current situation, I can assume that I am a Miko myself, which is surprising.
Then the voice of the female converse with the father, which I assume was my mother, and the male said something that sounds like a name.
Bellona, that was the word I heard from him. Considering that the name is something that wasn't mention in the novel, I can infer that was my name.
Then the man with the loud voice then loudly yells the name with added surname in the end.
Bellona Boreas Greyrat, that was the name that the loud man announced.
'So, the wish did come true. I am a Boreas family member, which means that these people that were talking were Philip, Hilda and Sauros if I am not mistaken'
Plus, I wished from sir Bellum that I will be reincarnated in K400, which is seven years before the canon story of the novel. I chose this particular year because I want to be reincarnated as an older sibling rather than a younger sibling. I can't afford to become a younger offspring again in this life because of my suffering being the younger sibling in the previous life.
Even if I know that the people in this world is different from my previous life parents, I can't take the risk of being on the receiving end of the siblinghood treatment. Besides, I don't want Eris to be the one bossing around in the family, knowing about her personality in the novel.

After a long while, the people then put me somewhere soft and comfortable, which I assume is a crib, and the they seem to be staring at me
'Cut it out. I don't want to be stared at. It brings me bad memories from the past'
In the previous life, my family always give me the cold shoulder for not exceling in school. They always stared at me coldly for failing tests and they talk ill to me if I made a lot of mistakes.
Because of that, I hate people looking at me for no reason. Even though this world is different from the previous one, I can't stand it when they stare at me.
So, I decided to throw a tantrum to shoo them away. I tried crying and flailing my tiny arms to scare them off.
However, when I touch the soft fabric of the crib, it was ignited into flames.
'Woah! Why is the crib burning?! I just touched the fabric of the crib!'
"Kyaaaaa!" I then heard the scream the mother and they tried to put out the fire in the crib.
'God dammit, burning myself again? I just get the worse luck!' I mutter to myself as I am currently burning while in the crib.
However, instead of me feeling the pain of being scorch alive, I feel nothing and I seem to be fine for some reason.
'What? Why do feel nothing while being burned alive? Wait! I remember now, this must be one of the power-up that sir Bellum gave me after fusing with his flames! Which means I am immune to fire' I said to myself as observed that I am perfectly fine with the flames.
*splash*
I was then splashed with water, which is quite cold, and puts out the fire in the crib. I can hear the wows of the people around me after seeing me being perfectly unscathed from the fire.
I was then picked up by the loud man and starting to yell words that I could assume was praising words while hoisting me up in the air.
'How annoying... Please put me down' I thought to myself as I decided to touch his hands with mine.
"OUCH!" he then screams in pain after I touch his hands, making him accidentally release me from his grasp.
'Ah, I miscalculated' I thought to myself as I fall from the loud man's hands.
Fortunately, the father caught me just in time before I fall to the ground, safely securing me from harm.
The people then changed the sheets of the crib and my clothes, and prompts the other people to do something else.
Several hours later, they came back and wrap something around on my hand. I assume were mittens designed for me to avoid burning everything I touch. I'm glad that they were resilient and adaptive to the situation.
Oh well, good for them. I know this because I read that the Boreas were a rich family and seeing them wrapping something in my hand to prevent burning is a proof of it,
I guess I have to wait until I can see better and able to move my body. If I were correct, it might take me eight to nine months before I can do those things.
Well, sounds fine by me. I will just need to sleep because that's what I am supposed to do as a baby.
I fell asleep in the crib and rest well after being born in this world.
