Chapter 57: Blessing Siren

"I shall double check the codes again on the system in a bit." Horus was finishing making his cappuccino and just adding a topping of whip cream. He was sure that the codes that were created are correct and should not be affecting. He was annoyed when Ryuji did the status because he thought he messed up the codes during the update. He did check three other individuals who did use <status> skill and did not find any problems for them showing the mana points. Only Ryuji had gotten the ? mark so far but the size comparison with other individuals is too small at the moment. Since it came down to this, more in-depth comparison may be needed. He just needed at do some extra steps then.

Out of the blue, Horus asked. "Also is <Libido> an active skill?" He had little information about the skill sets since he was away for the majority of the time a few centuries back. He almost did not recognize his own place because he would only get back at least ten times for the whole last year. All those ten times only had a duration of a day because the very next day he was summoned to attend another event.

"As far as I know, it should be a passive skill present to goblins and orcs. Though it's a low level and nuisance skill. Why did you ask?"

"What is it's effect?" Horus asked.

"Well, it increases stamina and strength as well as sexual desire to procreate. Usually, those individuals that have those skills succumb to their sexual desires. So, no creature is safe even if it is the enemy. Why do you ask?"

"I peeked on his status and he has one." Horus was bringing his mug of cappuccino to the table.

"Well, isn't it because he is a goblin?" Sefie looked puzzled.

"But I find it weird that it is listed on his neutral spells and not as a passive skill." Horus sipped his cappuccino then wiped his beak with the whip cream that stuck on his beak.

"Really?" Yubis sat up straight. <Libido> is a skill usually bestowed to the strongest of the race. It usually is given to male creatures with the strong desire to procreate and propagate their race with their own seed. As Yubis mentioned, it overtakes the rationality of a creature just for procreation. It is similar to an aphrodisiac but in this case a skill.

"Did he pick it up somewhere?" Sefie gave her speculations as well. "I think we should check on those individuals with similar skill sets as well." Sefie continued. All the details must be verified, and cross examined. Although, she is taking mental notes on these peculiarities that are pertaining to the goblin. She will inform her hubby, Hades, later once he gets back from the Cosmos main building.

"I guess we should check his logs when h-" Yubis was cut off by a light blinking on the wall at the top of the counter. He uses these lights as an alarm system in case he was taking a break at the café part of his house and something went off that needs his attention, mostly at his office. "What the hell?" He took his smartphone and swipes for the app related to the alert.

"What is that?" Horus was stared at the blinking lights instead.

"It's a green level alert?!" Yubis blurted out. He had given Takehiko a special blessing before and that has safety features which allows him to check and sometimes converse with Takehiko before. It was the first time that the alarms went over to a green level.

The blessing that Yubis bestowed is <Friend of the Jackal God> which is classified as a major blessing, this increases affinity towards creatures with additional increase on familiar taming. Aside from that it has a resistance and stats increase to the recipient. Yubis had indeed installed a safety feature in the form of the alarms.

There are alarm levels that he made, Blue level means that the recipient is normal. The Green level means there is a threat to the user that may cause injuries. The Yellow level means that there is a threat to the user that will cause injuries. Orange level would mean that the threat may leave the user incapacitated. Red level means that the threat to the recipient has a high chance of dying. This safety feature is not installed on a whim but rather a powerful tool because it allows the bestower of the blessing to use foresight. The bestower of the blessing can intervene using direct and indirect means. However, using a direct intervention may actually have some repercussions in accordance with the Cosmos guidelines with blessings.

Yubis did add this part which he reserved for his highest blessing after attending a blessing symposium before. Though when he joined Zariya, the older management prior to Tartarus had set rules of non-intervention for gods. He never encountered a clashing with that specific guideline until now.

"What are those alarm levels?" Sefie asked. She was anxious with the lights going off from the counter.

"To check the safety of a blessed person." Yubis sighed. He was pulling up applications using his phone to check details that went through the logs.

"Is this what I think it is?" Horus asked. He was scrutinizing the alarm with his falcon eyes.

"What do you think it is?" Sefie curiously looked at the lights again. Those lights made her a bit nervous and worried. Though she can't tell why, it reminded me that something might be in danger.

"A blessing siren. It has been out of stock since the last seminar but due to misuse, they put regulations on which blessing is applied." Horus explained to Sefie.

"Which blessing is acceptable to have this siren?" Sefie asked. she gradually understood what the light is for, but that anxious feeling has not gone away.

"The common practice is that you apply the siren that the highest three blessing are the only ones allowed to have that blessing. But that would require a person to submit a formal ranking of their own blessings to the headquarters. The drawback is any powerful blessings that may be created in the future will not be eligible unless you can provide a new list, but they only accept lists to reassess the blessings every five millennia. I only had one blessing put the siren in since it was a test." Yubis explained as he was still checking the logs on another application.

"No wonder it was regulated. That is why some gods tried to replicate the same effect." Horus sipped his cappuccino. Since he knew the nature of the alarm, he was no longer concerned about the blinking light on the counter.

"Really?" Sefie asked in disbelief. She watched the lights still going off at the counter and at a fraction of a second, the color did change to something else. Maybe it was just her imagination.

"It was tackled during the Divine Security lesson." Horus started to check his phone for the codes and run it at a test server that has a replica of the Zariyan World System. He was not concerned about the lights, though he was curious why Yubis would concentrate on something. If he needs to be concerned, it should be the ongoing test and his to do list. He pulled out his notes app and type in things that he needs to do.

"In my opinion, that is tedious with those restrictions." Sefie gave her piece of the information. It was really something that was heavily regulated according to Horus. Only the highest blessings are allowed to have this blessing siren. It's usual for Yubis to be aloof with his blessings and gives it randomly but he rarely gives out what she could classify as the top three of his blessings to just anyone, the <Friend of the Jackal God>. Not even the pope of his religion has that blessing. She froze at that moment and shuddered. It is as if cold water was suddenly poured unto her.

The last person Yubis gave it to, was the person who arrived a few years ago. Before that, he had bestowed that blessing to another individual about several centuries ago. The current person who has that blessing, is the same person that she and Hades promised to take care of like one of their children. They were quite touched by his story. She hoped to be wrong, but her instincts were scolding her. Perhaps she felt anxious with the lights. She needed to be sure. She needs to confirm it first with Yubis. "Wait, is your highest blessing the <Friend of the Jackal God>?"

"Yes…" Yubis gave a sigh as answered. He had some idea now, an incident had occurred earlier but, the logs could contain a sliver of information, he would need to check the recordings at his office quickly. He stood up to check the logs thoroughly. "Sister-in-law, I ne-" He was about to excuse himself, but he was cut off.

"By any chance that blessing, you gave it to Takehiko? Right?"
