Chapter 27: Chapter 26: Her world
Hades' parents got the news that Hades finally woke up. They were also frightened when their only son suddenly decided to not open his eyes, (this was according to Karen) but they have a strong belief that Hades will not allow any other man to become Nina's husband, so he will wake up. Now that the matter is over, the two can finally sigh a breath of relief.
They visited Hades but decided to leave immediately because they don't want to disturb their son and daughter-in-law's time together. They knew that Hades and Nina are still a budding couple but their dedication to each other can be compared to a couple who stayed together for several years. When Nina was the one lying on the hospital bed, Hades didn't even blinked his eyes to be a guard for Nina and when it was Hades' turn, Nina stayed by his side all day long and if Dr. Alice didn't say that it would be harmful for her twins, she would have a night vigil. And although she accepted the advice of Alice, Nina still stayed at the hospital and just asked for another bed where she can sleep.
Ares also came to visit but due to a new case that he is currently working on, he also left immediately.
Hades decided to go home after the series of tests he had undergone. He says that he doesn't want Nina to have another uncomfortable night in the hospital. So, when the results came out and nothing alarming was found, they went home.
Nina wanted to ask Hades what happened when he was asleep because she could feel that something had changed on Hades.
He is the same clingy man she knows who respects and takes care of her but she can't figure out this weird feeling.
Another thing that changed was her space.
When they went home, Nina took a bath first then she tried to enter her space and finally, after several days of not being able to see her space, she was able to enter again. But when she entered the space she was shocked to see that her space became a barren land again! All the things she put inside her space was lost! Nina was thinking that her space was like an app that was wiped out of its data.
But, why? Nina can't think of any reasons, so she just went out of her space to think what she has to do next.
"Is there something wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Nina asked worriedly when she saw Hades sitting on her bed when she walk out of the bathroom
Hades stared at her then he sighed "come here, I'll dry your hair"
Nina approached Hades and sat beside him, then Hades took out the blow dryer and started drying her hair seriously.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Nina asked, when she noticed that Hades looked bothered, she knew he had something in mind but she didn't want to pry it. If doesn't want to talk about what's bothering him, she'll just stay by his side, like what he is doing for her.
Hades inhaled deeply before asking her to rest her back on the headboard because he told her that what he is going to say might take a long time.
Hades narrated what happened to him when he fell asleep. He started on the part where he left Nina in the room instead of staying with her like what he did. He stated everything he experienced.
Nina was so surprised when she heard what happened to Hades when he was asleep. Can this be called being reborn? Hades was able to see the things that she was only able to read from the book. He was even able to see that 'Nina' gave birth to twins, but why was that part not written in both books?
"So when you slept for several days your soul travelled which made you see the events that should have happened if you just left my room that night?"
Hades nodded "but in that place I feel that the woman there wasn't you. Even if you were crying and kneeling, I can't bring myself to sympathize with you. I even felt terrible about myself there. I feel like I was a scumbag that would neglect you just because another man had you"
Nina was stunned with Hades' confession. What if he finds out that she wasn't really the Nina there? She can be composed now because Hades was this body's first man, but what if he finds out that her soul is not that of an innocent girl? That she too was tainted and even gave birth before, what would be his reaction? Would he also neglect her?
"Then I travelled somewhere again. This time, I was looking to a beautiful seven years old girl who is going to be adopted"
Nina froze from what Hades said, could it be?
"She was forced to become a young lady of a well off family in exchange of marrying a boy she thought she loved since she was a kid. I watched her being obsessed with that boy, to the point that she decided to destroy herself for the sake of the boy and their son"
"I watched her suffering alone. I watched how everyone mocked her, how she tried to defend herself, how she tried to be strong but everything she did was futile, because at the end, her heart grew tired of fighting alone. The woman there was you."
"In that place, I watched the woman I treasured the most be hurt and I can't even do anything to retaliate,I can't even hold you. That was the most powerless period of my life. I wanted everything to stop, or even just let my eyes be closed so I won't see you suffering but the scene just continued."
Nina was trembling after Hades narrated her previous life." How can you say I was the woman there? " Nina asked while she bowed her head, trying to hide her pooling eyes from Hades
"If I say that I won't mistake my Nina from any other Nina's out there, would you believe it?"
Tears finally fell down from Nina's eyes. He knows her. Hades was able to see this world without her and her world. He was able to know that it wasn't her in the first world and he was even able to identify her in her previous life.
"Nina" she looked at Hades' worried face "Did you really experience that?" This was the question that Hades wanted to ask Nina when he woke up. The scene where Nina was so helpless with no one to rely on makes him want to kill everyone who hurt her but he was too powerless, he can't even wipe Nina's eyes that time.
" I want to show you something" Nina said in a hoarse voice then she stood up and held Hades' hand "Close your eyes"
Nina brought Hades inside her space. This is a big leap for Nina. Hades already had an idea of her previous life experience but still accepted her. He could have been silent and let the matter go but he gave her his trust that she would believe her so she must also show her sincerity.
"Open your eyes"
Hades blinked several times before confirming that he wasn't dreaming again before curiously asking Nina with his eyes.
"That night we shared together was the first night I've ever been here in this world. This place seems to be god's compensation from my previous life's sadness" Nina started explaining while she wiped the tears that fell from her eyes
"I don't know why god let me have another life. I was a mess from my previous life, I tried harming others just to get what I wanted but I was still given this life. That's why when I found out that I made the same mistake I did from my previous life, and even had the same medical report, I decided to just stay far away. I don't want to fight anymore. All I wanted is a peaceful life. I don't want to go back and end up miserable again"
"This place, I wanted it to be my hidden card. I was thinking that if the world outside can't also accept me, I'll just spend the rest of my life here and die peacefully"
Hades was silently listening to every word that Nina said "You won't be alone" Hades said to Nina then he hugged her tightly "you don't need to worry that the world outside will not accept you, I am enough. People outside don't matter. I can give you whatever you want, I can accompany you wherever you want to go, I can listen to all your crazy orders. I wanted to be with you for the rest of our lives, so please, don't think of giving up yourself again"
Nina nodded her head while she listened to Hades' steady heartbeats. It makes her feel that everything is fine now. That everything is under his control. She admits that she's becoming greedy for this feeling. The feeling of being taken cared of and being cherished.
Hades lifted her face to make her look at him then he kissed her forehead and eyes making her close her eyes afterwards, Nina felt a soft moist thing prying her lips which made Nina open her eyes but Hades' left hand was quick to cover her eyes then he started savoring Nina's sweet lips.
Nina doesn't know where to put her hands and when she felt her knees softening, she hooked both her arms on Hades's neck.
"I am not an irresponsible man who would let you wait for me and I will never cheat on you,so just make that Phillip and Dion be part of a nightmare"
That night, Hades didn't leave Nina's room and hugged her until she fell asleep. He was staring at her like he found the most precious treasure that was missed by those two bastards. Hades doesn't want to think of other what ifs anymore. He has his Nina on his arms now. He will do his best to protect the peace she longs for and the happiness he wanted them to have.
