Chapter 20: Chapter 19 : Good news.
Third person point of view
The next morning, Cecil woke up to his phone ringing. He fumbled around and picked up. " Hello ? " He replied in a sleepy voice. " Did you just wake up ? " Cecil recognized from the voice that it was his mother. " Yeah... so what is it ? Do you want me to come home for something ? " " How did you know ? I was going to ask you both to come for lunch ".
Cecil sat up feeling completely awake. It was his usual question to his mother when she calls him on weekends. But now he almost forgot he was married. " Today ? " " Yeah ". " Give me five minutes. I will call you back ". He hung up and stumbled out of the bed and his room to go find Aaron and ask about it.
He walked out and saw Aaron walking up the stairs in gym clothes. Cecil blinked. The sight was quite something for someone who just woke up. Aaron's t-shirt was fit enough to show everything just right. Cecil didn't know this side of Aaron. He really was contemplating waking up early from then on.
Aaron noticed Cecil who looked like he just got out of bed. " Good morning ". Cecil came out of the daze. He almost forgot the actual reason he got out of bed. " Morning. Are you free today ? " Aaron nodded. " We need to go to my home for lunch ". Aaron nodded again. " We have time right ? I will call the driver to come in... "
Aaron looked at the watch. " An hour and a half ? " Cecil nodded. " Yep ". " What kind of things does your family like ? " Cecil was confused at the question. " I just want to take some gifts since it will be my first time visiting them ". Cecil understood what Aaron intended and shook his head.
" It is not necessary. What would that make me then ? I went empty handed yesterday ". " It is fine ". Aaron said and Cecil nodded. " Exactly my point. It is fine ". Aaron gave up and nodded knowing he can't win. Cecil went back to his room and fell on the bed again. He called and informed his mother that they will be there.
He wanted to sleep more as he slept late the previous day but now he couldn't. He touched his neck to hold the ring to play with it. It has become a habit in the past week to fumble with it if his hand was free. He sat up shocked when he didn't feel it. He quickly looked around and his eyes fell on his hand.
He felt dumb for searching frantically. He forgot to take it off his hand after the dinner. He let out a sigh and caressed the ring. He let out a groan and went to get ready. He put on a plaid shirt and jeans. He couldn't care less as it was his own home. He walked out and went to the living room. Aaron was already waiting for him.
Cecil felt like his eyes would be blinded. This guy was shining too much. Aaron was wearing a button up shirt which was tucked neatly into his pants and he put on a long coat on top of it. Cecil looked down at his dress. He sighed in his heart. Aaron stood up when he saw Cecil. " Let's go ". Cecil said and they walked out.
When they reached, their family were all there. They only gave Cecil a brief greeting and went to greet Aaron. Cecil could only scoff. He went to stand with Lara and Ethan while his parents spoke to Aaron. He just watched along with them. Ethan put a hand around Cecil's shoulder. " How is it going ? " " Good ".
" I didn't ask about work ". Cecil turned to him. " Whatever it is, everything is going on fine ". Ethan nodded. " How are you doing ? " Cecil asked Lara. She smiled and nodded. They smiled and went to have lunch. " There is actually something to tell you guys ". Cecil's mother said as they were eating.
" You are going to be an uncle soon ". His mother said with a big smile and Cecil's eyes went wide. Even Aaron was surprised. Cecil turned to Lara with wide eyes and she nodded. " Why didn't you tell me earlier ? I came here empty handed ". Cecil complained accusing them. He even told Aaron there was no need. He huffed in anger.
Lara chuckled. " It is fine. My room is already being filled with so many things with each day ". Cecil looked troubled. " But still. Mom, tell me if there is something I can buy. I will get it ". His mother chuckled. " Alright ". Cecil let it go and nodded. He was so happy that he couldn't believe it was true.
" Congratulations ". Aaron said with a smile. " Thank you ". Lara smiled. " Your mother also dropped by the day before ". Lara said looking at Aaron and the both of them were shook. " They already knew about this ? " Aaron asked still not able to believe it. They didn't know any signs of knowing such a big news.
Lara nodded. Aaron also nodded. " Let's eat. The food is going to cool down ". Cecil's mother said and they all started having it. Cecil gave a look to Aaron and Aaron understood very well what it meant. They really seemed to have become one big family. They both smiled and Cecil leaned closer.
" You seem to be the only bad actor in your household ". Aaron gave a glare. Cecil giggled and went back to eating. Aaron shook his head with a smile. After lunch, they stayed for a while and talked with them all. Cecil talked to Lara about a lot of things he was curious about. As it was nearing evening, they left to go back home.
" Bye. Be careful ". Cecil told Lara. Lara nodded. Cecil turned to Ethan. " You better take good care of her ". All of them laughed at Ethan's dumbfounded expression. Ethan was about to catch Cecil to teach him a lesson, but Cecil went and hid behind Aaron. Ethan could only retrieve. All of them laughed again.

It is definitely worth celebrating. This is TMI and I might probably regret saying all this in the future too but I will still say it. I thought it would be so nice to be an aunt when my brothers got married. I have three brothers and only one of them had a kid but they got divorced and I never got to meet that kid. So my dream got crushed even before it could bloom.
Cecil would be the type to put the kids in control while Aaron will be spoiling them. Haha.
