Chapter 3: Mr. President
Her best friend, Kristie was quite a talkative person and this time too she didn't realise that Eva was not paying any attention to her not until she saw Eva had not responded to any of her questions.
"Eva...Evaaaaa!!!" Kristie vented in anger.
"Yeah yeah, correct!!" Eva replied coming back from her thoughts.
"What correct? I am asking you if you are going to try any dress out or not, what are you wondering about?"
"Nothing...nothing, I am going to try these out" Eva picked some clothes randomly and headed towards the trial room.
When she was in the trial room, she realised that the size of the clothes was L and she wore S.
She came out hurriedly from the trial room just to find her friend standing outside the door. She was too embarrassed to tell her that she had got the wrong size and would surely be bombarded with questions. She had no choice but to lie to her best friend of not finding any garment nice. She felt quite guilty but couldn't do anything.
Then she and Kristie went to the nearby coffee shop and ordered coffee and snacks.
The weather was unexpectedly warm and since it was a Sunday more people were present in the shop than usual.
The news was airing on the television. Eva was not usually interested in news and rarely watched it.
But the mention of a particular name made her pop her head out of her imagination and concentrate on the news.
"The President of GSM: the multi-billionaire company has retired and the position is now taken by his son, Mr. Christopher James." said the news reporter.
"The current President has not appeared in front of the public yet but news has been reported that the company is soon going to hold a press conference along with a huge party in welcome of the new president." the reporter continued.
Eva was shocked to her bones as she never knew that Chris was the son of a billionaire. Not that it mattered but the thing that disappointed her was that even after being his girlfriend for four years she had not been aware of who his dad was.
Anyways, it wasn't important now as he was just a part of her past. It shouldn't concern her anymore.
But deep down she knew how difficult it was for her to accept this.
Is this what it feels like when you love someone?
Even after all the mistakes they have done you are ready to forgive them as if nothing ever happened?
She could never understand this. All she knew was she had to leave all this behind and just let it go.
Let bygones be bygones.
She's going to start her life new but little did she know it was all a part of her wishful thinking and the thing she least expected would happen soon.
